So what system does everyone use to inventory their stamp sets? I'm going to use Evernote as I like the set up and think that it will offer what I need.
There are a couple of threads in the Mission Organization forum on Evernote. THIS ONE is tips and tricks, and THIS ONE is where people are sharing their files. Maybe they'll be helpful for you...
I started using Evernote, but have recently swapped to using One Note, which is a part of Microsoft. I must say I prefer it to Evernote personally, for a couple of reasons. Although the basic Evernote is free, to get better features you need to pay a subscription, whilst One Note is totally free. The other reason I like it so much is that it has the ability to resize any images you store, and Evernote lacks this. Most of the craft product images I collected for my inventory- of all my stuff, not just stamps,- were taken from the net, using another free tool, The Snipping Tool. But as web images tend to be an assortment of sizes, I had all sorts of image sizes on my pages. So it's my current favourite, for what it's worth, just thought I'd mention it.
I'm so glad that you posted this about the Snipping Tool, because I thought that you were the one I'd heard about it from (grammar...?), but couldn't remember for sure. I just need to say THANK YOU EIGHT BIZILLION TIMES for that! I use that tool EVERY DAY for work and for personal use, and it has saved me countless hours, tons of ink and paper, and a lot of aggravation! Bless you forever!
I'm more basic.
1 Word...table...alphabetical listings for SU stamps with catalog locations.
2 Word...table...listings for all other stamps by stamp companies.
My lists are just for inventory purposes, and I don't see any need to make it more complicated.
I have heard that there is a place on Splitcoast where you can find retired pictures of stamp sets and ink etc...do you know anything about that? Thank you so much for the links you provided above!!! Gave me great insight to what people are using...much appreciated!!!

SCS does have a gallery for practically all SU stamp sets, whether retired or not. Pics of the stamps themselves are not included. Sets are listed alphabetically. Start at the main gallery index page, click into the sub-gallery Stampin' Up!. Many categories will be offered, and you'll find the alphabetical sets listings there as well. ;)
Both resources are for Stampin'Up! stamps only. You can search the galleries for other companies by clicking the search box on the far left and putting in whatever company/stamp set name you're looking for. Hope that helps!
Thank you so much for the information! New to this forum of how to actually use it instead of hiding in the background and now being an active participant! Thank you so much!!!!
Gregzgurl, you are most welcome. I freely admit, my Beloved Hubby found it first, and told me about it. The only think I can't figure out is how I ever managed without it!
I think I have maybe 3 Stampin Up! stamps(!), and my actual number of stamps must run into thousands. Literally. I'd actually not dare to count them. So to catalogue mine used to involve stamping them out onto sheets and storing in ring binders. OK for use in my craft room, but not very portable. Then I'd fall behind with adding new stamps, which would be a pain, as I'd forget what I had, and I've bought duplicates a few times. So I love being able to find the image online, snip and add! I'll still have to scan in the occasional stamp I've found that is so old, it doesn't show up anywhere- even Pinterest, lol. But that'll only turn out to be maybe a handful of images, rather than thousands.
