looking for a tutorial for specific bag from cardstock
I've seen these, but I don't know if they have a name. I want to make a bag using cardstock. It would have 2 pieces of card (for the front & back). For the 'bag' part, it uses a strip of card which is scored and cut into a U shape and adhered to the front & back sections. Similar to the 'butterfly box', but not making such a proper box for the inside. Anyone know what I'm talking about?
Thanks Dina! That's pretty much it, but the star shape is doing my head in! I've got a headcold and don't want to think too much right now. I want my bag to hold a handmade card, so just a bit bigger than A5. I would just need to snip 4 notches to allow a U shape, wouldn't I.
Yup, with that visual in mind, I've done a quick practice with a sheet of printer paper and I think I know what to do. Thanks for your quick response Dina. Are you up very late or very early? It's mid afternoon here, and I'm off to the doctor soon! Cheers.
Did you figure it out? The strip would be on just 3 sides, so you'll need 2 scores across. For the width, add an inch to allow for the 1/2" tabs on either side, and notch where the score lines cross. I hope that makes sense! If you need more of a visual, let me know.
Hi Dina. Yes, I'm sure I know what to do now. I am a visual learner, so even that hills & valleys star version was a great help! Thanks for your assistance.
