Default Need Watermark Help

I'm on a design team and a watermark has been provided to us. I cannot figure out how to add the watermark. I'm using photoshop CS6 which I believe is the latest version. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks!!

Beth is a PNG file? ( it needs to be) if so, well I use Lightroom and after export I open the photo in PSE11 ( I dont have the full bore PS) and then I open the watermark ( I have these files saved to a folder on my desk top) and I pick which one I want and drag it down into PSE. if this file is really large I go to Image resize scale ( and make it smaller) than I go down the photo bin, bring the card photo to the front. then drag the smaller watermark to it. ( it always puts it dead center for me) then I drag that off to one of the corners usually then hit save as... ( and I rename these) but if it asks you if you want to save the changes to the watermark ( say NO ) because, some photos you need a bigger one.

does this make sense?

I am of course assuming that PS is similar in design to PSE...

Assuming it's similar to Elements, and really they all should be similar...open the watermark in a second window, copy it, and paste it into your photo once you have the photo edited and re-sized to your liking.

I can't figure out how to cut and paste. Right clicking won't do it.

Mac or PC you will only use the mouse to select the item to be copied then other actions are shortcuts done on keypad.
PC first go to the image you want and use the 'rectangular marquee tool' to outline the image you want to copy. Then press the ctrl button and the 'c' button after you have selected the item then go to the page you are working on and hit ctrl and 'v' button.
Mac do the same with the Marquee tool to select the item you wish to copy. Then press command and the 'c' button then go to the page you want it to go to and press command and the 'v' button.
Hope this helps you

I've used Gimp (which is a free download) to add watermarks to my design team cards.

Beth, open both images (your photo and the watermark, or several photos if you want) and go up to Window >> Arrange >> Tile All Vertically. You can then drag the watermark onto the other windows.

On the tool bar, what do I have to be on in order for me to be able to drag the watermark because I can't get it to move.

You have to have the "move tool" selected. It's the first one in thr toolbar, looks like a cross.

Also, when you have the 'move' tool selected, put your mouse over the watermark, hold down the 'ctrl' button, then just drag your watermark over the image.

First pic shows both images open in Photoshop window, with 'move' tool selected, top left. Then Second shows watermark dragged across to first image, by holding down 'ctrl' and just dragging it over. It just drags a copy of the watermark, not the original thing. You can position it anywhere on your first image you like, just by holding down 'ctrl', putting your cursor onto the watermark, and moving it around. If the size is wrong, you can go to 'IMAGE' in the top bar, scroll down and select 'FREE TRANSFORM' and it will put a box around your watermark on the image, so you can drag a side, or corner, to change the size of the watermark.HTH.
