I bought the Lotus Blossom and found that I don't have coordinating ink pads. Do I need coordinating ink pads to get the beautiful effect that I keep seeing or can I use my SU markers instead of ink pad ?
Can't wait to be able to play with it. TIA for your help on this.
I don't know a lot about that set but if I don't have inks that coordinate, I use my Memento markers to colour the stamp, spray with water and stamp.
If you had some kind of water based markers you could find a colour that is close and use that.
I have also noticed some people using just one ink pad, and stamping it off once and twice to get lighter images with each different stamp. That's what I have normally done with Roses in Winter. So for the solid background blossom, you would ink it and stamp it off twice on scratch paper, then stamp on your cardstock. For the next image, with most of the petals and a lot of shading, you'd stamp it off once, then stamp over your first image, and you'd stamp the last image with the ink at full strength.
I just received this set too. I was planning to try stamping off, but markers would be pretty for a watercolor effect.
I also have the Rich Razzleberry assortment of Blendabilities but I have never used them. Would these work? I don't know how they work for coloring on stamps.

I wouldn't use Blendabilities as they are alcohol markers and I don't think that would be could for PP stamps.

Here is another thread about color combos that may be helpful to you.
I love this set. I've been playing with the single color doing as Cook22 described. Love the way it looks with most colors. I'll have to try black for the third stamp. That sounds interesting.
I just got this stamp set as well. Been playing over the weekend and I seem to be getting the best results with black for the small details and then two colours. I'm still finding that often the colour difference is too subtle and looks better if I stamp off once for the lightest background.
I also noticed that despite the little tab on the stamps, and them being clear it's not that simple to line up the images 100%. Am really contemplating on taking the plunge and ordering a MISTI (it'll end up costing me approx. $100 as I'm in Canada)
I got this set to. I was disappointed the first couple times (Actually the first time I sat down with it, i was really disappointed with my first work). I was in a hurry to try this out. Be prepared to have time and have lots of scrap paper to play around with . Do not try this on good paper the first time and expect it to be perfect. . The second time I had more time and was more prepared to give it another chance. I wrote done on the scratch paper what colors I used and if I stamped off. I finally got a couple that I liked and used. Basically play around and have fun with it.
