Default Scoreboard Question

Hi.
Deciding between Martha Stewart and Stampin' Up. Is the smallest interval on both boards an 8th of an inch? I thought I saw a video of someone scoring 16th of an inch on the SU one but can't find it now.

The smallest interval on both is 1/8" - the grooves themselves are too wide, I would think, to put them any closer together than that.

I don't own the SU board, but I have used it at my demo's. Between the 2, I would choose the SU version, no questions. It feels more substantial; the stylus works a lot better than the tool that comes with the Martha Stewart version, and the markers at the top are a very nice addition.

Thank you. I already have a metric ScorePal and just want another board for the odd time I work in inches. Price might sway me towards MS although I am sure SU is better quality!

Both boards are made by EK Success. I use a stylus with my MS board because the scoring tool that comes with the MS is really flimsy and hurt my hand if I gripped it too tight. I use the Fiskars stylus (orange handle).

You might want to check the ScorPal website. I think there is a new board with 1/8" markings.

I like the sturdier ScorPal but have the 2nd version with some 1/8" measurement markings. Bought the MS one for when I needed a full board with the 1/8" marking ie for making boxes, treat containers, etc.

Your 2nd post makes me change my mind If it was the only scoreboard I was using, definitely the SU. But since you want one that's just for odd times, the Martha one will do you fine. Like Crafter 4 Life, I switched out the Martha scoring tool for a stylus and it's a huge improvement.

Also, if you decide at some point that you want the diagonal board that fits the SU board, it also fits the Martha board - I use them together.

When I get the extra money I'm getting Diana's new 1/8" version Scor Pal. The Scor Pal is the sturdiest board I own, but I use MS because of the 1/8" increments. I switched out the scoring tool for a stylus too.
