Default What is the best art journal book?

I would like one with very thick paper for wet techniques, preferably spiral bound with large pages that are as squarish as possible. So not long, thin rectangular- if that makes sense.

I'm not actually using a bound book so may not be the best person to answer your question but here goes-

It is a matter of choice really, I suggest you go to a craft or art store and check them out for your self. There are mixed media pads being sold by the major suppliers like Canson and Strathmore. I was surprised though that the paper weight/thickness wasn't as heavy as I expected but a lot of people seem to use them with great success. Most just prime the page with gesso first.

Since you are planning a lot of wet techniques you might want to consider a bound water coloring spiral in a heavier weight since they are made to handle lots of water, aka wet. The down side for some would be the texture but again you could use a layer or two of gesso and sand the page smooth.

Don't over think it and stall out with out giving mixed media and art journaling a try. Welcome to Art Journaling btw.
