I've lost the information from a couple of recent uploads...one was moved today from HYCCT Hostess Staging to the main HYCCT gallery. I know Lydia has already flagged this, but I'm just attaching a screenshot because it shows how the fields are not there for me to fill in when I want to edit it.
All the fields (except probably Techniques and easiness rating) were filled in at the time of the initial upload
This has happened to me a couple of times before when moving a card from Staging to another gallery, but only once before have I lost the fields.
The write-up from another card also disappeared, and that one hasn't been moved at all.
up to date Chrome, XP Pro - it will be Windows 8 as soon as I get my new PC set up with all my programmes and customisations :mrgreen:.
I also tried editing in FireFox with the same impasse - no fields to fill in.
What the heck??? I get the same thing. Sending this in.
Phew - I'm glad it's not just me. I know XP Pro is old and tired by now so I'm always afraid it might be me.
By next week I should be all up-to-date in 8.
The staging gallery was set up correctly - but not the live gallery - EEP. So I fixed it, and you shouldn't have any more issues - but everyone will have to fix today's.
(hangs head in shame)
This is *not* related to the disappearing description problem. We can't reproduce that yet - let me know if it happens again.
If it's any consolation it HAS happened to me before (exactly the same thing) moving a card from staging to another gallery. I'd have to take time and read back on various posts to figure out which gallery it was. BUT, when I moved it from that gallery to my Member Gallery, the fields came back and I could fill them in, and THEN mysteriously when I moved it to the correct gallery that I'd moved it to originally they stayed stuck.
It's not mysterious - it's purely a gallery setup issue - we have to manually type each of those field labels in, and if we forget, or do them in the wrong order, those are the problems it causes Totally human error.

Ugh - I see that - is it on your awesome Witchy Woman card? Can you answer for me a few questions?
What browser do you use?
Were you typing directly into the box or copying and pasting from somewhere else?
When you went to edit the upload, did your previous description show in the edit box, or was it blank when you clicked edit?

to add a little more information. I got an email saying that
my edit has been approved. I went to take a look and the entire box was blank. I tried to edit a SECOND time (now the field was blank and I re-typed the information all over again. Once again, the edit was "approved" and it was entirely blank. (I'm so confused. LOL)
I hope you can help me fill in the box with information. I feel guilty just leaving it blank. I am not one of those people who upload with no information. I always try to offer as much info. as I can.

I also noticed a HYCCT card which I had commented on on Sunday and I remember the write-up; it came through the approval queue for some edit on Monday morning and all the write-up was gone. Could be that's what she was editing, but I doubt it ;-).

Dang, I guess I posted the other day and then left the site. Sorry I missed your last reply. I just tried again to edit my Witch ATC, but I doubt that it will go through. I'll stick around here for another hour or so if you can send a knight in shining armor. LOL The only reason why I haven't deleted the entire photo and upload it again is because I don't want to lose the comments. Pretty sad, huh? LOL
It IS sad losing comments.
I can swear and testify that your write-up was all present and correct for your re-upload. And I hope that it stays that way for you; as an occasional fellow-sufferer of this syndrome I empathise with you. But at least two or thee edits and it's always stuck for me.

If you're on now I can see if our tech can screenshare with you. Definitely don't delete it!
Site moderators - I just did an edit on my last photo in my gallery and once again, ALL of my information in the description field has vanished. This is so frustrating. This is the second photo that I have lost all the information. I am so upset. I do not want to have to go through this aggravation and now I have learned my lesson. Basically, I can NEVER edit my information without losing it completely.

Unfortunately, until we can get on and screenshare with you and see exactly what is happening on your end, we can't help - when we edit, it works fine so there's something unique to you that we need to diagnose. If you give me a time of day that works for you each day (after 11 AM PST would be best) I can see if one of our tech team can hop on and look at each step you're taking.

Thank you, Lydia. You're always so helpful. I apologize. It's hard not to be emotional about something that you put so much time in to. I'm in the Central time zone. I'm not sure about the time difference with PST. My time now is 11:44 am. I'll hang around for the next hour or so if anyone is available to take a look. I'm not that great with computers or technical stuff.

I enjoyed talking with you too, which made the trouble-shooting process painless. LOL I love your kitty story. I have a new sweet kitty (also a stray) that is now a family member. She just showed up on my porch and needed a home. She is so sweet that she had us under her spell right away. LOL Best thing that's happened to me in a very long time. Good thing we didn't start talking about kitties on the phone. We would never have gotten any work done! LOL
