When you make your holiday cards do you make them all the same? Or do you make each unique?
I do all the same for 2 reasons. One I'd never be able to decide who to send what design to, second someone would complain that So-in-so received a card that looked like X and they received something different and why. Yup, I've got one of those families.

Same for me, as well - my family wouldn't complain (they probably wouldn't even notice), but I'd have trouble deciding who to send what. And then the next year, when I might repeat a design, and what if I sent the same one to the same family twice?
Nope, one design and I keep 1 for myself to keep track of what it looked like.
I make mine all the same - I do about 150-200 - and it's just better to do them all the same - and I agree with you - I'd never be able to decide who to send what
I do around 60 and they are all the same basically. I use the same image, but either use ivory or white cardstock for the image, depends on the paper I am using. And I use different paper. But the saying is the same on all of them.
Mine are different. I do the Fan Club Christmas Card challenge and also a Christmas Card challenge on another site. In addition, I often make Christmas cards for other challenges. I may have four of one design, but four is the maximum of a similar design. I would get bored making 50 of the same card!

I find something I like and make. Whole pile and put aside (probably 20) then I see something else and do that so in the end I end up with a bit of a collection of mixed christmas cards then my son and his wife come and go thru and picks the ones they want to send people which I love as it shows me they like my cards and then I send out my cards. I have them in a box upside down so first one touched goes to next person on the list. If they get a repeat from another year too bad, I made it and shared it and they should be happy its not store produced and that I care. There are a couple of people that get special ones but thats cause they are closer to my heart, you know mum's and dad's etc.
I make about 100 cards each year. I usually find a design I like and make five or six of them, maybe with slight variations. Then I go on to another design. Since I usually design them from scratch and I make a new batch every year, I don't worry much about who got what card last year. They're not likely to be exactly the same.

I have about 40 made so far this year. Only one of those I made five of them alike. All the rest are different. I hope not to send the same one to a person, but if I do, I'm sure they won't mind.
A mix of both. For the ones that are different, I address the envelopes FIRST, and then for each envelope, I make a Christmas card specifically for that person. No need to decide what to send to whom that way...
I tend to make maybe 5 to 10 each of 5 or more different designs and try to send all different cards to cousins who are siblings, for example. I make mass production cards for From Our Hearts for the troops so I make some for them and some for me. Plus a friend has a Stamp A Stack in November where we make about 4 cards of 5 or 6 designs. Personally I prefer to make nativity or religious Christmas cards since Jesus is the reason for the season.
I get bored and uninspired making too many duplicates so I usually make one design for siblings, another for nieces/nephews, a third for friends (although the crafty ones might get one-off designs) and another 1-3 designs for coworkers.
I am hoping to get started soon since the one thing my holiday cards have in common is that they get sent late.
Almost all of mine are different. I do make some with the same stamped image, no more than 4, but use different papers or design. I start early in the year with images to be colored with pencils, then move on to those made with only embossing folders, then the cards with only dies. Keeps me happy since I could never make all the same without going crazy and making so many mistakes that I'd have to throw the card out!
I make different cards for my Mother, MIL, BIL&SIL, Nephew & Fiancee, Neice, DH, kids.
Everyone else gets the same card because I am one that hates deciding who gets what.
TBH this is how I bought cards before I started making them. It works for me. Once I bought a variety pack and it was torture sending those out, all the decisions. I would rather just color/stamp away and not have to think too much about it. I find coloring the same image therapeutic and almost like a meditation, and have a great sense of accomplishment to look down and see all the ones done at each stage. I helps me to create the individual ones by getting my creative juices flowing.
I make 8 or 12 of each design I use. I already have over 100 on the shelf ready to go but need about 400 more. I keep plugging away. Its interesting to hear what everyone else does.
Blessings.
Once I made them all the same - too boring for me. I make about 60-70. Ever since I've made them all different. But this year I am trying to make 4 similar each month. That, with any I make for other challenges, should give me all I need. I have a spreadsheet in Google Docs on which I note what card I sent to whom so they don't get the same stamp two years in a row.
I usually do maybe three designs, one simple mass produced which is for acquaintances/ co workers/ not-so-close family. A second for special people/friends and a third for close family. As this usually amounts to around 15/200 cards, there's no way I'm doing that many different!
Mine are all the same (except for maybe the dsp if I'm using some that year). That way I can keep a card front for each year and know how to change things up. I like making assembly line cards and would have no idea who got what otherwise!
Have mercy...seeing how many cards y'all make is makin' me dizzy!! I make probably 40 and those take me a long time!! I make them all the same which is good and bad. Good because I can have a little production line going when putting them all together and that is nice. Bad because by the time I am finished, I never want to see that particular card again!!! The last 2 years I have made the same cards but switched up the colors a little - like 5 cards with red backgrounds, 5 with green, 5 with white - that kind of thing. Makes it a little less monotonous.

IF I find a design I like, I make about 10 of that. Last year I made about 50, many of which were simple. This year I am planning on the same amount, and I think I'll have about 10 different designs. I like to mix it up.

Last year I did all the same as I was pretty much just getting back into stamping and didn't have a lot of stash yet. This year I think I'll do 2 of the same and then go onto the next design. With all the Christmas stamps I've now collected and what is coming out in the holiday mini, I want to play with them all
I have done it both ways. I do not send out lots of cards, but I have several stamp sets that I love so I do batches of cards using different stamp sets. I also have some one of a kinds that I send to special friends.
I have done assembly line and it drove me nuts! I love each one unique. That being said, I don't make more than 15 or so... these ones are for special family and friends. For my school kids age 5 or 6, I buy a 5$ box of kids cards from Walmart and they are excited that I thought of them
I have made 2 the same, using one sheet of cardstock and stamping/prepping twice isn't a big deal.
All different and I don't force myself to make them. I usually start feeling the itch to make Christmas cards in November. I just roll with it and when it comes time to mail them in early December, the number of cards I have made is what gets sent. I have a general card list that I prioritize so some years everyone gets one and other years not so many....sometimes, I didn't send any at all! This is not something I want to be anxious about which is why I do it this way.

After reading the comments after I posted, I'd have to amend what I said. I make about 30 cards that are all the same, but I make special cards for my husband, sons, and grandchildren. So in reality, I make 30 the same, then six other cards which are each different.
Both. I have different groupings of people. I mass produce for each group, but often do a different design for each group. I also have a handful of people for whom I do individual cards.

I make about 40-50 each year. I'd get bored if they were all the exact same. But I do make sure to make all the same design for immediate family: which with the growing up of nieces and nephews who have gotten married...that's about 10 I make sure to do all the same. And I always take a picture and keep a list of what design I sent. The rest of the cards will vary depending on if I get bored..or inspired by something I see online and decide I want to try myself! I also make little notes next to the names with a brief description of who got what card. That way...if I get stuck without mojo one year I can "recycle" ideas already done and just send different ones to different families.
I LOVE making Christmas cards so I don't think I could stick to just one design. I usually don't start making them this early but I posted an online Christmas card class using non-Christmas stamp sets and got a little carried away. Between my class samples, remakes, variations and the samples that didn't make the cut I have a shoebox full (and they're all different).
