RiverIsis- Your post made me laugh so hard. I have enjoyed reading all Dr Who fans replies. Yes, there is a huge difference on boxes. I watch Torchwood. You can't watch Torchwood without brushing up on Dr. Who everything, lol. I haven't delved deep into Dr. Who yet. I am finishing Warehouse 13 & Alpha's right now.
Big fun note about VLV for everyone who ordered. When your shipment comes in it will always be in a recycled box. You can even expect boxes from frozen dinners, lol. VLV is my favorite stamp company. I love ordering from them just to see what kind of box I will get in the mail.
I love Torchwood too! Chasing Capt. Jack is how I ended up a Whovian! Torchwood is now on showtime. They are showing the repeats of the whole 1st season on starz on friday nights. My poor DVR is working overtime. It cracks me up when my VLV order comes in a chinese takeout box
And apparently Guernsey have blue telephone boxes (but they still aren't police boxes) ;)
Goodness - I don't remember that, and I worked there for a while before I was married. I guess I was never looking for one there, unlike when I worked in London.
I'm so glad you like it. :p It really depends on the project. Sometimes it's easier for me to cut and paste all the pieces, sometimes I will mask. For this particular page I did a little of both. First I layered my background with a gesso/acrylic paint mixture, then I added my DIY tissue tape. Then I stamped the octopus and masked him using post-it's then I stamped the police box. I fussy cut everything else that was clipped out of travel brochures I grabbed in the hotel lobby. I drew in the rest and colored everything with Ranger Distress Markers using my waterbrush {my fav technique}. There was a gorgeous angel stamp that was released before Christmas (the craft's meow?) that I admit to wanting to buy just so I could draw fangs on it. It is a beautiful stamp but reminds me of the weeping angels!

I need to start this with please don't be offended my family have a really quirky sense of humor...
My mother has acquired a 4ft statue of the Virgin Mary and it is sat beside her front porch. When my youngest saw it he asked why she has a weeping angel in front of her house! LOL!
Yes the weeping angels are totally creepy. What about the paper face lady...and did you all see the new episode on Christmas the scary teethed snowmen and the fanged chomping snowflakes. The creepiest was the frozen nanny {the name they used escapes me}. EX-TER-MIN-ATE...EX-TER-MIN-ATE!!! :p

We just finished watching the Christmas episode. I don't think I'll ever be able to look at snowmen the same way again.

Wonderful! It had me thinking of how I could 'adapt' my innocent, friendly snowman stamps, and I was pleased to see the BBC got it right and gave their chomping snowflakes 6 sides not 8!
A sad sign of the times; here in NZ before the start of the programme they gave an announcement about how it contained material which could be disturbing for small children and parental discretion was advised, etc....DH and I agreed, in our day there was none of that PC stuff, and if the monstors got too scary, you did what all Whovian kids did and hid behind the sofa. And no, it didn't make us grow up disturbed (who, me, disturbed???)
Weeping angels are the creepiest! I want three stamps, the angel with the hands over the face, don't blink, and then the angel with the fangs! I can already see the card!
I would also vote for River's diary and a Hello Sweetie stamp.

Dropped my eldest off at University yesterday. Got there and those living in the apartments had made a snowman that was at least 10 ft tall (about a story and a half). I was impressed and then happy it wasn't one of "those" snowmen!

We'd also need a "Spoilers!" stamp to go along with the diary and "Hello sweetie" (I'm a huge River fan, so I'm a bit biased. I carry her screwdriver in my work bag. Eleven's is on my desk at work.)
I do admit that my first trip to Central Park after "The Angels Take Manhattan" aired, I found myself shaking my fist at a certain statue at the fountain. Though I loved watching the Central Park scenes of the episode be filmed back in April.
VLV stamps must be scratching their heads and wondering about the sudden increase in orders for their police box stamp. I may add another one to that total before the weekend! :-)
Would not surprise me if they have some sort of office pool going on guessing the total orders before this "frenzy" dies down.
As far as "Whovian" sayings, i'd totally buy a "Hello sweetie" stamp...LOVE River. And i think we need one that says, "bow ties are cool" as well.
All you Whovians should check out " thinkgeek.com" I don't remember any stamps, but there is a lot of Dr. Who goodness to find!
We've been shopping at ThinkGeek for years. I got my stamps today. I think we should all share our creations in the Gallery. Looking forward to playing!
you can also get Torchwood on Netflix. we can get it straight to our DVD player which is really nice. all of the Dr. Who plays from there as well. they just keep playing one episode right after the other. you don't have to do anything at all. it is glorious!
You can't get Torchwood- Miracle Day. :( It's the last of the Torchwood series. Starz produced it so when they broke away from Netflix they took Miracle Day with it. I had to put the rest of the series on hold at the library so I could finish it. Miracle Day is a must see. I loved the twist in the ending. I will give a tiny spoiler. Miracle Day is another tearjerker.

I'll have to check Comcast to see what Torchwood is available on demand. We did have quite a bit of Torchwood and the Doctor, but it changes all the time.

I got the first episode of Miracle Day for free on iTunes. It might still be there.
I definitely want "Hello, Sweetie." In fact, I want it enough I might just make my own.
That said, I have some die hard Whovians in this house (and there are a LOT of us in this house) and none of them would get their knickers in a twist if someone made them a Tardis out of a regular police box--as long as the attempt was made.
And, speaking of which... This was my 2 nights before Christmas and Mom was at work... project.
Yup - Whovians don't tend to get their knickers in a twist, but you would get the concerned stare ;) while the deductive reasoning took place internally.

Oh, that is gorgeous! I love it!
One word of caution about the River journal -- that thing is not very sturdy. I was using it as my day-to-day journal and the pages separated from the spine after four months. I need to repair it. At least it'll look more like the real thing then!
