It's my turn to host a challenge and since all we've had in my area is rain, rain, and more rain it made me think of the rhyme...April showers bring May flowers... So with that being said, the April 15th challenge is to create a card using spring flowers (crocus, tulip, daffodil, hyacinth) you get the idea. So lets bring on some warm weather and beautiful flowers. I can't wait to see what everyone creates!

Hi vikki jo, nice to hear from you, hope you're well! We have been thrust into summer here but with morning sea mists, very strange but when it burns away its into the mid 20c, cut offs and teashirt weather.

Hi girls! It's my turn to come up with a challenge and I picked something I've been meaning to do again.

Take one stamp and repeat it at least three times on your card.

I have some great little graphic elements that are small and I've been wanting to turn them into backgrounds, but keep forgetting. So REPETITION is my challenge. Hope it's fun!

Pretty quiet on this thread! Everyone must be outside enjoying spring weather. I know I have been busy gardening.

Thanks Sheri, for adding a link to the June thread! Not much time to make cards, what with all the gardening and yard work going on!

Boy, do I have a lot of catching up to do. Got back from vacation Saturday evening. I unpacked yesterday and today I'm trying to catch up on laundry. I am so grateful that my dh does his own laundry. The dogs were real happy to see us. I miss the girls so much already. They're going to try to come up here next summer. I hope they can. I left my craft room in a big mess so will need to clean it up some before I can make cards. I'll have to wait until I have more time to look at your galleries.

Welcome back Debbie. So glad you had a wonderful time with your grands! We've all been slacking off with the cards and posting on SCS. I guess that means that we have a lot of other things going on. For me, it's been yard and garden work, as well as social activities. I am basking in the beauty of spring flowers. My veggies are coming up so nicely too, but I have at least two bunnies who are going to make it their restaurant of choice.....already they have nibbled off about 6 or 7 bean plants. Off to the store for some bear and rabbit deterrent. It's expensive but they say it works best....something about containing coyote urine (te he)

I bought some deer and elk deterrent yesterday......$29.99, so it better work. the container doesn't say anything about rabbits, but the flyer that came with it did. Here's hoping. But I have to wait until tomorrow to apply it, as you need to let it work in for 48 hours before you expect a rainfall.

Hi everyone!! I hope you would like to try this one--My challenge is this: "Case this card" My "spring" colors are: Brown - for the earth; Yellow - for the sun; a light teal - for the spring rain and green for the grass. A sponged background using green, blue and yellow on photo paper; then, I embossed some yellow cs and adhered it to some brown cs; then using a punch -- I punched a shadow flower from a blue patterned paper; then I stamped a flower from yellow cs and put teal stickles in the center without coloring the flower itself. I stamped a sentiment and cut around it in a random shape and sponged around the edge. See what you can do for this one!!! I don't know how to do a sketch upload yet so hopefully you can follow the picture.

I can't wait to see the results!!! Have a great weekend!!!

Here's my card -- Forums at Splitcoaststampers

Hi everyone, I've not been around much as we are just getting over having our visitors, our visit to England for the christening and tomorrow we are back to England and then off to Poland to visit with Magdalenas family. Really looking forward to it. Will have to get stuck in when we come home though.

Hi Jan........not too many of us have been active on these threads lately. The long awaited good weather is here and many of us are gardening, taking part in end of school activities and sports and just plain getting out and enjoying the sunshine! I have a real creative block right now, so I haven't been making cards or painting lately, but my garden looks great!
So glad to see you have been enjoying family! Wishing you safety in your travels.

For the past five years, I have been in the process of eliminating the flowerbed in the back yard, so that it will go back to being a lawn again. Do you think I am succeeding? Every time I dig up the poppies, they come back. Probably some of the root left in the ground. The mauve flowers (Dame's Rockets) are all self seeded from two plants I dug out of the ditch somewhere. Now my whole yard is full. The yellow lilies will be given to my niece after they are done blooming.

Your garden is lovely Ina, I'm not sure you will ever be rid of the poppies, I'm sure I've heard that they can lay dormant and they reappear , as in the Somme in France after the war, the ground was a sea of mud but the poppies eventually came back, my mum was born on Poppy Day, November 11th.

Ina your garden is lovely! I would love to have poppies, they always make me think of my grandmother, but most of my yard is too shady for them to do well. You are busy taking out flowers and I'm busy putting them in.

Ina, he's been crawling for a while but last Thursday decided to pull himself up on his toy piano and then try the stairs, he has very strong legs, in fact he's a very robust little chap.

Steve's been busy writing a story, we decided for joeys fifth birthday, which is not until October, that we would write a story with a birthday card as the cover, he is mad about trains and we took him down the coast when they were over here to show him a steamie that was built in Glasgow, England, it was used down the mines over here but is now on a plinth on the seafront. He was fascinated and so excited that he could climb up into the cab to have a photo taken, anyway grandad has written a story about how Joey, Charlie his brother, splodgey their dog, nan and grandad with Thomas and Gordon's help( Thomas the tank engine) rescued Agulias and restored him so he could work on Sodor Island. Now I've got to make the book cover, we've laminated the pages so I've just got to cut them to size now. We've included photos of them on holiday so its kind of a scrapbook of their holiday too.

Hi, everyone! I haven't deserted these threads; I've just been busy. Things have been pretty busy at work lately. I'm now working full time and by the time I get home, I have no desire to stamp. That's not entirely true; I just don't feel like cleaning off my work space so I can stamp. I have a major project in my craft room that I have to try to get done next weekend. I need to rearrange and downsize a bit so I can fit a twin bed in the room. The bed will sit up high enough to store totes under it and there will be room on top of the bed. We only need the extra bed once in a blue moon, but it will be nice to have it available. Hopefully, I'll be able to the project in one weekend.

It's been a very stressful weekend for me. This is one of those times I really hate living so far from my DD. Early Saturday morning while going through a controlled intersection on a stretch of highway, some guy ran the red light and rammed right into Sheri. He hit her right where her 4 yo DD normally sits. But that was one rare day she didn't have the girls. It's a miracle she even survived with just a cut ear, a few bruises and a lot of sore muscles. The other guy didn't even step on the brakes. They figured he was going 65-70 miles per hour. The sad thing is she just bought her Trooper in April and forked out over $700 on new tires just a week ago. Of course, the other guy is trying to say she ran the red light; she has a witness who saw him run it, but he didn't stick around to tell the cops that, he called it in. And all other evidence points to the guy being in the wrong. Oh, yeah, he's disabled and in a wheel chair so he thinks that he can't be in the wrong.

Anyway, as soon as I get things in order around here, I'll be back to stamping. I miss all of you.

The link didn't work for me, but I found your card in your gallery. It's very pretty. I love the colors.

Jan, that is just so cool! I'm sure it will be greatly treasured, not only by Joey, but also by his parents!

Debbie, I am so sorry about your DD's accident! Not only does she have a financial loss, but also an emotional one. Accidents are scary and make a person nervous on the road afterwards for a long time. So glad she is physically o.k.

I have been away from SCS since June - long story, some about lots of doctor visits, some about getting sidetracked by another hobby (tatting), some about being overwhelmed because I was trying to keep up with too many challenges.

Because of the tatting, I was using my stash to send cards, and now my stash is getting pretty thin. So every card I want to send has to be made on the spot. Here are three recent cards:

Sunning on Sun Flowers
Cas Birthday
Baseball Bunny
