I've been in a stamping slump since Christmas and am trying to get back in the groove - I used one of Brenda's (tessaduck) cards to honor her as our Queen for the Day today, and since it's a Christmas card, it's my first card for January CC challenge -
Here's my January card for the challenge. I really tried to stay away from red and green but Santa's hat just has to be red and the pine branches had to be green. Am I the only person who can spend an entire day making only 4 cards?

No, you're not the only one. Sometimes it takes me forever to think of something to make, then try & find the right stamp or embellishment & that could take time too.
Debbie, it mostly takes me all day to make ONE card! Once in awhile I will strike gold and get on a roll and make up to 4 cards in a day....but that is a very unusual day for me!

I finally got all the way through your galleries. A ton of inspiration. I tried to leave some love on all of them but if I missed you, it wasn't intentional. Nathalia, I'll have to come back tomorrow to look at yours since they are still pending.
You all make me feel better. I thought I was the only one who can work on one card all day. If it takes me hours to do one card, how do you do one in 45 minutes on VSN?
Alrighty, I an on a roll! #3 of 5 plus I combined it with 2 other SCS challenges ON a day with family not at work/school and most of it spent out of the house!!! Taking a bow. LOL
I am using more pink and the dark cardstock is blue not black.

answer: I can't so I rarely do VSN...I'd love to be able to but I change my mind so many times..
I take ages to make a card, sometimes the pieces are moved around the card for weeks until I'm happy, other times I get an idea and its done in an afternoon. Most of my cards are made for family and friends so they are one offs so I don't really need to make in bulk
I rarely do VSN, too, Sheri. Mostly because I'm working and forget to check the challenges. I think the veterans plan ahead as much as possible. I can't. I'm always changing my mind or what I pictured in my head doesn't really look good irl.
Jan, the only ones I make multiples of are my Christmas cards and then it's usually only 4-5. Between now and county fair time, I'm trying to make an extra so I can enter them. The past few years, I've been scolded for not submitting any cards, so hopefully I'll get a few together this year.
I presume you can enter cards that you've made for these challengers on here, do you get the cards back after entering them? I'm sure you'll do we'll Debbie.
My friend makes her christmas cards at the last minute and makes them all the same! Think I'd get bored of making that many the same although sometimes when I'm stuck for an idea it seems very sensible.
I finally sat down and got my January cards done.....I noticed the challenge for January was using non traditional colors. So....brown, ivory and copper...that's pretty non traditional in my book! Well, this would be what snow would look like in Texas if we were having a dust storm too!!! Just a little card humor there!!! Y'all have a great day! Card is in my gallery too.

Love the card, Suzy. You made the snowflakes look elegant.

For VSN, the 45 minutes is mainly for putting your card together. All pieces and embellishments can be ready. I am one of the hostesses on March 2nd. I challenge everyone to come play and make at least one card.

My problem is I never plan ahead. Sometimes I look at the VSN challenges when I need some extra inspiration. I'll have to mark my calendar for the next one. See if I can do more than one or two. I work Saturdays so have to wait until the evening to start on them. BTW, I love the cards.
Stamped both images first in chocolate chip ink the used clear embossing powder. Next ran it through the snowflakes embossing folder. Used crystal stickles alternating with Christmas red stickles. Easy Peasy. Thanks for asking.

Hi there! I am Sharon, glad to meet you.
You make it sound/and look easy, but wouldn't be for me. I am very messy when using glitter or stickles! Great job on your cards.
