Well I had every intention of getting some Hope cards done this weekend so I could get caught up on all the challenges. But..... alas....... I've caught the dreaded head cold coupled with severe allergies and I'm down for the count. I don't think I'll be able to catch up before the deadline. I'm still proud that I was able to get as many done as I did, and I hope to get those in the mail this week. :-)
I'm just havin' trouble with CAS today. I'm a guest designer for the CAS challenge tomorrow so I was working on that first then did my card for today's HYCCT and ended up with lots of Indigo space instead of white  Maybe I'll have time to do another later.
Thinking of all those facing Sandy....been there done that when we lived in the Norfolk area of VA. My parents were supposed to be traveling to DC, but his meetings were cancelled because of the storm. Stay safe everyone!

I'm with you, Holly. I'm just glad I got any done this year! Hope you feel better soon! Drink lots and lots of fluids, it really does help.
NOT! FAIR!!!! I want SNOW!!!!!! Not as much as the East Coasters are getting ready to get hammered with, so ALL YOU EASTIES.... BE SAFE AND CHECK IN!!!!!
People here are really battening down the hatches -- like we've never seen snow before! I think the bigger issue is the 70 mph winds they are thinking we might get. Poor kids -- this is supposed to really hit on Halloween. Guess I'll have to eat all that candy myself LOL!
To all you peeps on the east coast....please stay safe....I have bunches of family strung all along the coast and some are gonna get hit hard.....doesn't sound good for some areas...

Well you BETTER be SAFE!!!!! (And brush)!!!!
Here is hoping you all come out of this safely!!!! Been through 2 floods back to back and it is horrible!!!! Just amazing what Mother nature can do!!!

10 or so years ago we got 30 plus inches of snow over 3 days that started on Halloween!
Good morning ladies...Vicki, I hope you're feeling a little better, it's no fun being sick especially during card making.
It's been super, duper cold here but no snow well maybe a little snow on Thursday. I have a few friends in Hawaii & Canada, hoping the weather passes right through them & no damage comes with it.
Loving seeing all the beautiful cards in the HYCCT challenges, I only wish I could comment more often.
Have a great day ladies & keep up the beautiful work.
I have 12 cards made for HYCCT! That's triple the amount of last year so I am pleased. Maybe next year we won't go on a trip and I won't get sick! Busy next couple of days but hope to get out a few more before the deadline. It's been such fun to see everyone's gorgeous cards. The challenges have been fabulous!!!! I was able to whip out yesterday's challenge in just a few minutes. I used Washi tape for the first time!! I can understand the Washi craze now. I need to get my hands on some more!!!!
I'm way behind, but I did get a box of 30 cards sent! I made doubles for some of them and did two cards for some challenges. Now I need to focus and get the rest done. I'm going to try to work through some challenges as long as we have power today. Hope all the others on the East Coast are staying safe!

Oh my! Thinking of you! Stay safe!!!
Awesome that you have so many cards sent already!!!
It's Real Witches Wear Pink... for Pink o Ween, and it is NOT to be a Halloween card but all the samples in the link are Halloweenie... spider etc...
SO... am I to guess that it is just a pink goodie holder??? The "witch" was just a cute phrase????
Pink, black, silver and white goodie holder. I really agonized over this one... What kind of treat holder/treat would survive shipping, in my already stuffed padded envelope, all the way to Texas?
I didn't do Halloween. I combined it with the TLC challenge on the tag.

OH! OK... I was confused between the link and the samples!!!! lol
Hmmm, I THINK I know what to do, but I got rid of a TON of 12x12 DP.... only have 6x6 pads.... **puttin on the hmmmm hat**
This is off topic, but I'm curious. Someone, please tell me about detailed dies. I just got the metal adapter plate for my cuttlebug, and I'm still sweating, trying to get a clean cut, with a holly die cut plate from Taylored Expressions. Is there a trick to getting clean cuts with delicate, detailed dies?

I think the metal shim goes on top of the die for a bit of extra oomph... but if that doesn't work put it under the paper you are cutting through so that the die has something "hard" to press into. It shouldn't hurt the die as it's made a bit softer for a little give!!!

Thanks, KJ-- I tried both ways. Three trips through, rotate, two more trips through, then an extra cs shim in the middle finally got a clean cut. SO not buying any other detailed dies!

IT might be your CB is stretched out. I ended up using my CB for Embossing folders only... OR it could be that there was a bum in the batch... Memory box Dies are VERY detailed and I have NO issues but the gal at the store warned me that some people were having issues with the fancy tree (last year) so told me to bring it in if I had problems... sometimes they just plain suck! lol
SO, I used my Big Shot Express for dies and my CB for folders!
I'd heard that cuttlebug was not as reliable as other machines. This one will have to limp along for a while. (Not feeling rich...) It's doing fine with spellbinders, snss and mft. I got the holly plate and the nativity border with te's last release. Nativity border's working okay, so far. We'll see what it looks like after I finish my Christmas cards!
Thanks again.

Holy cow - you should hear the wind here! I keep watching out the window for the wicked witch to fly by! State of emergency declared and all schools are closed tomorrow. We've been lucky so far - the lights have only flickered but tons of people by Lake Ontario have been evacuated and power is out. Yikes!

Today's challenge is up and man are the samples adorable!!!
This is the second to last challenge - can you believe it???
It's always fun looking forward to the next challenge, even when I get into the office, people are already asking me what today's challenge is. I have the dog challenge to go, however I made like 54 cards already.
Thanks Lydia for all you do.
Stay warm & safe everyone. We are suppose to have a nice Halloween.
How is it today East Coasters??? :( Worried about you all!!!! The news is SO sad!!!!! Praying for you all!!!!
I LOVE today's challenge and apparently I had crafty dreams last night as yesterday's challenge is fresh in my mind with an idea!!!
I can NOT believe I have all but completed this challenge... SO impressing myself!!!!! in a year I have grown SO much and am LOVING these challenges and the stretching that it is making me do!!!
Yak more later peeps... I have to go blow off my driveway and road as all those fir cones/needles are DRIVING ME NUTSO!!!! and making it in to the house, regardless of wiping the feet!!!!

Sure hoping & praying for our NorthEastern peeps. The videos on TV are beyond sad. Even with days of warning, people cannot stop the flooding and winds no matter what. At times like these I often wish I were a lean machine working with the Red Cross, etc.
Today's was an easy challenge for me with things I love to use anyway! I'm still 2 behind with elements that aren't quite so natural to me ;). My DH is doing the swim practice taxi tonight though so I'll have some time to myself.
Hard to see all the pictures of flooding, etc on the East Coast having been a 20+ year resident of the Norfolk area of VA when my DH was in the Navy. My prayers go out to all affected.
sorry I didn't check in sooner! We came through with very minimal damage -- just a piece of aluminum siding off the house, as far as I can tell. DD enjoyed a day off from school. We got some errands done - today's its just sprinkling now and then..

oh that is good to hear....various members of my family have differing amounts of damage but all humanoids are safe and accounted for....
