well, it's a cold, wet and very dreary day here so off to the craft hole for me....gonna finish up the ones I've got started...and on to todays fun challenge
No way could I do this stuff recreationally. I'm so glad my husband is home each night so if I do need to good pain meds he's there to be responsible. I take them and withing 40 minutes am asleep. Like passed out asleep. Awhile ago we were watching tv, something like First 48 so not at all funny, but I had taken a Vicodin for my back, was lying on ice and just listening to the giggles in my head then I realized some weren't only in my head. I was giggling. DH looked at me like I'd done lost my mind. He says "So I take it the medicine kicked in" Uh yeah! Good night now. lol

Hey Sheri... what is it that they gave me after my hysterectomy... GOOD stuff, but apparently you can only have 3 shots of it or it becomes "toxic" in your body???? You get it in the butt and you alternate sides. It was a great aide in sleeping... ;)
I burn through medications fast so I typically just ignore the RX's I get, but when I had NO KNEE left, that was a bit above my pain tolerance... ;)
Umm...that doesn't sound familiar....I don't know what it would be....
Yeah, chronic pain is a different monster all together...and bone pain is another witch to deal with...:(....no insult intended...

LOL!! that's the way I am...1/2 a lortab and it's nighty-night time...
I've done pretty well with pain generally, but about 10 years ago I had a kidney stone and OH MY WORD! I've given birth to 9 1/2 lb babies with no pain meds, but that little bit of grit getting stuck was the worst pain ever. Dealt with the pain for several days and came to understand how people can mistakenly get hooked on their pain meds. My husband noticed I was clock-watching and getting ready to pounce on taking my next dose and asked if I was in pain....I wasn't, but I didn't want to be...ever again! Anyway, several days of chronic pain was a good wake up call to give me more understanding of what others go through on a daily basis. I also get migraines monthly and don't know how a friend of mine who has had chronic migraines for a few years now manages to keep going....can't imagine that life-interference on a daily basis.
Made a bunch of cards yesterday for a local store that was putting up a display at a Taste and Trade Expo (here's their booth with 2 of the cards hanging...delivered the others after the pictures were already up) and helped my son get some furniture for his house and now I'm behind again! Time to fix some supper and put my mind on show tunes!
looks like a lot of you are keeping up....I'm down 3 challenges going into tomorrow...better pick up my speed or I'll never finish....thought I'd finish today but decided to meet friends for lunch which progressed into shopping which progressed into drinks....now beddy bye for me....will have time tomorrow to catch up on galleries finally too...can't wait to check out y'all's creations....C ya...
Good morning ladies! Not planning on any crafting today! Tomorrow I'm going to meet a Splitcoast friend who I've not met before (she's from Green Bay - I live in the Twin Cities) so since she's coming over here I have a lot of cleaning to do...... and that includes the craft room!

How fun,Lynn!!
And Lydia -- geocaching - also big fat fun!
Have a great day ladies -- I am going to get to leave the house tonight for a little while - whooo hoooo!!
I used to teach geocaching at our fifth graders' resident outdoor school. Great fun.
I'm in the big city, having spent time with family. My niece and I had a bit of a spa day yesterday, and I got to spent some time at one of the craft stores that don't exist in my part of the state. Big sale on stamps (like I need more stamps...) 50% off. Got some great IO. Heading home today.

Good morning ladies....that's great that Lydia's posting her favorites on another post, congratulations to whom was picked....
This morning is Halloween shopping with my girls, goodness I feel like this is going to be an all day thing but I also told them I need to go to Archivers....hee hee!
Have a great day ladies, I'll be crafting when we get home.
Is there a new challenge for today? Catching up from the past couple of days - have about 3 more to do and I can finally get them all posted. Plan to send the first batch off Monday.
Hmmm, still waiting for today's challenge. Hope they get it figured out soon. I was concerned at first that something happened to today's hostess. Glad to see you're okay Bridget.
Aha! I just figured out that if you go bfinlay's gallery, you can see her sample card and a description of her challenge for HYCCT1213! Yay! Sounds like an easy and fun one for me.
Still waiting for that glitch to be resolved!
Yes, Val, I was just coming on to suggest that or click on the SCS facebook page where Lydia has my card posted - for anyone who wants to get started the details are exactly what's listed in my card description!
I came in here to figure out why I couldn't see today's challenge...whew..It's not me reading too fast for a change! haha... I guess I should work on yesterday's challenge...
I have been checking the master list also, and not finding todays. Thanks for the input so we know what is happening and the heads up so we can start! I hope all is fixed soon!
I'm finding myself needing some fancy run from Texas. Good thing the in-laws are driving up next week... Thanks for the drink recipe, Lydia. You read my mind.
we got our rental house key's turned in early ( on the 10th) so, I am probably going to be frantically playing catch up on the weekend evenings and not doing any cards durning the week until I get that house ready to hand out the keys again. ( we rented it again yesterday but, the guy is leaving on a vacation ( today ) and wont be back for two weeks. I steamed the walls in half of it this morning, what I thought was dirt turned out to be holes in the paint, so looks like painting will be needed in just about every room *groan*
but, the cleaning is getting there, ( trying to get all that done before I start painting)
I don't understand why these people don't understand I'd much rather be making a card every night
but, just wanted to say Hey, thanks for these challenges to all of you who are hosting one, and I will get to you eventually. I told my self If I can do a VSN I can do this since there are no time limits.
Arggh, our internet was down all day yesterday so I'm now three cards behind. I did have a chance to have a SU party and catch up with some friends. Today my college Sr. son and my DD and new SIL are coming for Sunday lunch after church. Have a blessed day everyone!

I've been wondering what it would be like to own a vacation rental. Is yours a vacation place or a regular home? We are also currently renting out our house as my husband's current job as a pastor includes a parsonage. We are only 1/2 hour away from the rental and have had seminary families rent it so it has been a good experience so far. A far cry from the time we had a house several states away, bad renters, and a property mgmt co that went bankrupt!
my husband wants a vacation home. I just want to rent someone else's LOL! WE have a daughter who will be starting college next year -- $$$$$
I am still post-surgically stuck at home and the novelty has worn off. I can do a little stamping and that cheers me up. I am so very grateful for this challenge - even if I'm no up to stamping, I get to see what you all are doing. Keeps me occupied! That - and online shopping LOL! Five pairs of boots showed up from DSW the other day and my DH just shook his head. (dd and i wear the same size, we had a blast!)
We live in a lake-saturated area of IN and are only a little over an hour from Lake Michigan where we've rented a couple of really nice places. We still own a home that we are renting for the same $$ as our mortgage as a blessing to seminary students, but I'm not sure how long we'll keep that house. We have housing provided to us by the church my husband pastors and they've done some really nice improvements to it since we've been here. All this to say, that when we sell our house I've thought about buying a lake house that we could enjoy as a family for vacations. However, we'd need to have income for the mortgage payment on it so it would need to be in an area where we'd get a good amount of rentals. Just a thought that simmers in the back of my head. ;)
I only have 6 or 7 to upload so far. But I have about 40 to send! Apparently, I've had a lot of cards just sitting around. It's time they went to a good home.
I should go put them together. I'm just sitting here waiting for the phone to ring. DH's cousin is having emergency surgery. She got T-boned last Saturday and has been on and off the ventilators and then she had a stroke today. She's 46.

Victoria, Vicki, I hope y'all are feeling better! I took vicodin and ibuprofen after my c-sections. Took the edge off.

I'm so relieved. DH's cousin made it through her surgery. It will be touch and go. Her breathing is not good. But so thankful.

Oh Paula -- I'm so happy to hear that!! I will pray for her... this has been quite a couple of weeks!!
46 years old -- way way way too young for this!!! Blessings and grace to you all as you deal with this.
I played along with all of the challenges last year for the first time and had a blast, but haven't gotten a chance to play along yet this month. Fortunately, I have an all-weekend crafting cabin stay next weekend so I can do some catching up. I've been checking out the daily challenges and lots of the fun projects in the gallery so I'm looking forward to adding my own!
Glad she made it through the surgery OK Paula...praying for a full recovery.
Welcome Makalah...have fun catching up.
I got my three cards made to get back on track, but it is too late for uploading tonight....would have been fun to be card 1000!!! See ya in the morning (later in the morning that is!) ;)
Thanks so much! Big hugs for everyone. I might try to eke out one more card for tonight and then go to bed!
