I think I'm going to faint! Orlando isn't going to know what hit it.

BTW, keep me updated on any swaps you guys are doing! I'm only signed up for one at this point.
Can't wait to see the spring mini so I *know* what I am doing.

Tracy may still be in boxes from the move, she lives in or near Rochester now.....quite a ways from where the gatherings were held in April. Did any one help her that may take it over this year???

We're planning a quiet Thanksgiving at home...or maybe out to eat. Since we're going to Rochester Dec. 1 for SIL's wedding we're not going up for Thanksgiving.
Yeah! We have our Christmas plans figured out! We're driving to Jack's, the youngest of my brothers, in MD and stay two nights then on to SIL's in NC to stay six nights. We'll get to be with the boys for Christmas Eve and Day! Christmas will be much more fun this year being with kids! Must prepare my nerves for LOUD since we're not used to LOUD! LOL! DH will be in heaven playing with his nephews. I'll take Valentine stamping stuff down for them to play with...otherwise I'll get the panicked email from SIL on Feb.1.
I've been working on Valentines for the troops while watching TV this week. Crazy, huh, since it's not even Thanksgiving?? I want to have them done before Nov. 28 when we get together to work on troop cards from 5-9 p.m. in Stittville.
Hi ladies, Alice just got in touch with me to say she hasn't been able to access the thread to share her brownie recipe as many asked. She sent it to me so here you go:
SLUTTY BROWNIES
Slutty Brownies*
2 pouches of Betty Crocker Chocolate Chip Cookie Mix (mix according to directions on
pouch, plus add 1 tsp of cooking oil and 2 tsp of water)
1 package of oreos (original recipe suggests "Double Stuffed”)
1 package of Betty Crocker Fudge Brownie Mix (mix according to directions on package)
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Line 9x13 baking pan with parchment paper.
Spread cookie mix on top of paper. Place one layer of whole Oreos on top of cookie mix. Spread brownie mix on top of Oreos.
Baking time varies according to the texture you want. They are supposed to be gooey, but I prefer them baked more so I baked them a bit longer. If you want them gooey, try 45 minutes and check for doneness. If you want them dryer, bake for 50-55 minutes. The baking time is a bit flexible, depending on how you want them to turn out. Anyway, once you remove them from the oven, allow them to cool for awhile until you can lift the paper out of the pan. Place on cutting board and cool a bit longer before cutting into pieces. They are supposed to be served warm, topped with vanilla ice cream, but they are awesome without the ice cream. You can always reheat them in the microwave.
*They are called Slutty Brownies "because they're oh so easy, and more than a little bit filthy".
Here's the link to the original recipe...lots of interesting variations and comments follow the recipe.
SCORE! Went to Walmart, found DH's Christmas gift, and since I had a print out from their website showing a sale price I was able to save $40 because they price matched! Something they're only doing for the holidays. All done in about 15 minutes! The Riverside Walmart was busy but not overwhelmingly so. Now I need to go wrap it before he gets home and before I go into a turkey sandwich coma. Actually that turkey sandwich is tasting like another one...how long can I hold out before I have to have another one???
Would you believe I might be close to finished with Christmas shopping??? Helps not to have many people to buy for. I think I need to get DH to go shopping for his godson's gift.
Pretty happy with our accommodations too. I booked through Armed Forces Vacation Club. We have a suite with a full kitchen for $336 for Tuesday through Saturday. It's 3 miles from the Convention center though. But I figure we can use the trolley system or drive. We'll have my parent's car as a loaner.

I'd offer you a ride from the airport, but the car will be full with M&D and us 3. Sorry.
We'll be leaving Orlando on Saturday and heading to M&D's until Tuesday. Probably do the flea market on Sunday. Hope to do something fun on Monday. I might be able to swing free admission to a Disney park if I give enough notice. What do you think Gayla and TOD?
Our hotel has tennis courts.. anyone else wanna bring a racquet?

Snowing here so the spirit is trying to move me... I'm trying to schedule a swap get together for next year in our area. Does anyone have dates set up yet? Any suggestions and knowing dates would help us to not book on top of others..

Take a look in the Get It Together forum. I believe there are several already planned.
There's going to be one in the Hudson Valley on March 16.

Maybe we need a location to chat about Leadership. I'm keeping my eye out for what your stampin' and swappin' plans are. I sent a request to SU to provide the supplies list to the take & makes so we can make them on our own... hopefully they will provide.

What fun stuff is everyone up to these days? I just finished making my SIL's wedding card for tomorrow. Sunday it's Nancy's stamp a stack. After that I need to go through my stash and put together sets of cards for our siblings' Christmas gifts. THEN I hope I can start putting stamping stuff AWAY! I cannot find anything because I've pulled so much out when making swaps. Then it's vacation!
BTW, thanks to your donations over the past year we put together another two boxes of troop cards Wednesday evening.
