Hi all! Happy belated Valentine's! I am almost 2 weeks post surgery. Things went very well -- had the best news today with the report that all of the cancer is gone. I'm still quite sore from surgery and will require some physical therapy to get back to "normal". But I just want to get back to moving easily, reaching things and hugging my kids normally, so I'll do it.
Nope, there isn't a theme for the shoebox projects. Whatever you like!
There is a suggested theme for the card front swap - masculine, but all other swaps are completely open.

That's awesome! I thought I had seen something on facebook. Is he going out early to acclimate? The elevation would kill me! I heard one of those races last year had snow.

Food Info -- Please remember when making/purchasing your food item that you do not need enough to feed an army. There should be a very nice variety coming: donuts - cake - muffins - sticky buns - cookies - brownies - candy - chips & dip - specialty dips - casseroles/main dish items - salads and side dishes - bread & butter - cheese & crackers - fruit - and more. Bottled water and coffee will be provided.
So, my suggestion is to make/bring a "normal" amount not a super size. I am sure there will still be leftovers but everyone should be able to find something they like. If you don't believe that to be the case, please feel free to pack a sandwich. We do have a refrigerator available, outlets to plug in crockpots, and a microwave.

he's going to our brother's todd for a few days ahead of time. todd lives in new mexico.

Didn't you bring some chili to Michele's gathering last year that was very yummy? Don't know if that is too difficult.

I'll ask him to make banana bread (or muffins) ... FIL can't have bananas which means we can't buy more than 1 or 2 every once in awhile 'coz if we hide them well enough we forget and they rot (and if we don't he eats them). So, we rarely make banana bread and I love it!
Hope to have time WED to try out some ideas!
BTW are any of the swaps mandatory? Need to know how many ideas I need to figure out.
I've had a cold/cough for almost 2 weeks and am just starting to feel a little better. It took away the momentum I had in organizing my room and I'm still feeling tired (10 hour work shifts were not helpful!)

DH sent payment via paypal this morning. I will be opting out of the swaps; this semi-persistent cough/cold is knocking me out and my room is still a chaotic mess. I really don't know where I'd put the ones I receive.
Got it! I'm gonna be out of town this weekend, and I'll catch up on Monday.

Now that Ilion stamping is over I can start to think about Poughkeepsie stamping...after I come up with several Mother's Day card ideas for next Saturday's mass production day at the VFW for cards for the troops...and after March Rolodex swap...and after ATC Club...
And we like that! I did come up with and stamped 4 Mother's Day card designs in the middle of the night for next Saturday! At least I was doing something productive instead of just laying in the dark! Last week I did set aside some supplies in a bin for my masculine themed card front so that is a start...or maybe it will be the shoebox depending on our numbers and if I have enough card bases to match the number of attendees.
Sounds like you ladies had a great time this weekend! I'm sorry I couldn't join you. The good news was that we had snow for the last hour of our drive up to Garnet Hill, and the skiing was great! Little Missy took her first lesson and then did the whole green loop, which was 30 minutes long for us adults. She was so excited, and then so cranky afterwards from being overtired.

Hey Ladies.....I was wondering if anyone is going to go down on Friday night & spend the night? It's a five hour drive for me & was thinking I would be better off going Friday night & staying at a hotel instead of waking up @ 3:30 a.m. & heading out way too early. Please let me know if these are your plans also.

We had 30 shoeboxes this past weekend and it was pretty tough to finish in the 10-4 time frame we had. We were FULL at 30 though. My next one will be a 30 limit too, but going 10 - 5 instead. Just an FYI.
