Thanks, Vikki... I was giving an old piece of SU paper the evil eye yesterday, because it was getting in my way in the paper box...and I thought to myself, "you'd fit better if I chopped you into little pieces...." LOL! Which is what prompted the question...
Paper murderer! LOL I do like the way you think though. hehe:grin:

I only need 2 birthday cards for January, so thought my other 3 will just go into my stash. I will be working on the remaining cards today, and they WILL be ready to go for next week's birthday
I needed a get well card for my sister so I made four of this card: Caught A Bug?
Also made a birthday card for my son who's away at college and a little down that he can't come home for his birthday. Card
You conversation earlier in the month on One Sheet Wonders, got me hooked. I downloaded six different templates and hope to have time soon to make a bunch of birthday cards.

I made a couple leaf tags to add to an earlier card I made. I used the silk clay tutorial to make the tags. It is so easy. The hardest part is waiting for the clay to dry. Next time I'm going to try using my heat gun to see if that helps speed up the drying time or if it will just make it brittle.

Your card is beautiful! How heavy does the clay make your card? Can it still be mailed?

Thank you, Dianne. The card isn't any heavier than any other card with a couple layers and embellishments on it. The clay doesn't weigh much. I don't know how it will make it through the mail since this is my first try. I would definitely put a piece of cardboard over it. I was thinking about mailing it to myself just to see. Better yet, pm me your address and I'll mail it to you.

good plan, Mel. I noticed the other night I really don't have much of a stash as well. So I think for kids cards whenever I make one, I'll make at least one other - maybe 2 (1 G 1B) so I can build my stash back up.

Great cards! Left love.
I'm hoping to host a VSN-type thing in the spring specifically for OSW. With a OSW template, it is possible to do up a ton of cards very quickly so we could gather together to work on the OSW of our choice and share our cards.
What do you guys think?

I'm lost! Where are the challenges posted at? Will they be in each month's thread? I'm already planning my April 1st challenge!!!Heheeee;)
Hey Diane!
All of the Challenges will be posted here in the main challenge thread.
On April 1st (or even a day or 2 earlier if you wish) Do it as a regular post...
Just make sure to 'go advanced' so you have the Title bar and Put AOCC April 1st in it.
After you've posted it, I'll add the Post # next to your name on the list here so everyone can look back and find them later if they need to catch up.
Does that help? :-)

Reason: wrong thread LOL
I spent SIX HOURS (off and on )in my craft room on Sunday. I was really there so I could watch the football playoff games since DH doesn't like to watch NFL. I completed four all-occasion cards and almost finished a valentine that combines several other Splitcoast challenges.
I must admit that I had several minor "mishaps". One really shouldn't watch TV and try to "fussy cut" images.
Once bandages were applied, I was able to restamp and recut the ruined images. Mostly, I got more football watching done than stamping.
Yes, I got my cleaning done. (I have a small house, it doesn't take long.)
Debbie- your card arrived today in perfect condition! The clay leaves are very lightweight and beautiful!
Kelly I think the VSN for One Sheet Wonders (OSW) sounds like fun!

Sorry there were injuries involved. This is supposed to be fun NOT deadly LOL.
Did your team make it to the Playoffs? Mine didn't but my daughter, the pat fan, is thrilled LOL

I'm a OSW Junkie... what do you think? OF course I'm all over that!

Debbie & Jane - I just wanted to try making my own template to prove - to myself - that I could do it. But mine didn't end up being all that much different from existing templates, so I probably won't do that again. I didn't really have a "plan." I did refer to other templates for general ideas. I turned over an old/plain piece of dp and just started marking off pieces on the plain back. I didn't do a whole lot of measuring except to keep the pieces to an A2 card size. After it was marked off, then I measured the areas so I could cut up the dp that I wanted to use. After I finished the cards, I re-drew the template on the computer, although I don't know how others do that. I did it in Print Master, an old computer card making program. Printed it out and scanned it so I could attach. Like I said, I don't know how to do that part, but got it done in my own complex way.
Pretty much that way!
make the cards, or the bases anyhow, or the sketch, cut pieces (from the scrap stash) and start laying them out on a 12x12
I save that chip board that comes with paper packs for this.
my first one, was from 2 or 3 OSW templates and I picked the cards I liked the best form each one, then i added in a couple different cards, the buckle used to be my all time fave so I made the pieces for one fit in too.
i hate having dp in my scrap box so i try to use it all up the same day
I don't see that I posted any of my January cards on here, but I may have on the main thread. Thought I'd go ahead though and put them all here. I've been really busy this month and these cards have mostly all been sent out except for a few of the Valentine cards which I'm sending to my DGC next month.
