Dec. 5 cards a week:_260__
2 Layouts a week:_104__ My Papercrafting Blog My Gallery
Well this one was more than true today. The funny thing is I came up with the idea of this challenge, just based on our normal Fridays. Which for a little one may be a bit much, but it works out in the end. Well today was worse than our normal Friday. I actually had this write up done a week or more ago planned for this day, not knowing the over-scheduling would end up biting me in the behind!!
Fridays really aren't too bad, but I know many who do over-schedule their lives, their children's lives, family, etc. Currently a typical Friday consist of PT for me, Swimming and tumbling for Maddy. Well in my haste to make my PT (physical Therapy) appointment for today, I had scheduled it at the same time as Maddy's tumbling class, not a big problem if it had been her swim lessons since both Swim and my PT are held at the YMCA, but nope not tumbling it's 10 miles the other direction! So fast forward, got that time changed a couple of days ago, thankfully I caught it in time. Well Wed came along and as you all know now that I had another nerve blocker treatment. Well I had no idea all the sedation and pain killers would affect me the way they did, I was so groggy this morning.
Ok getting ahead of myself again. The Church Cookie Sale is tomorrow, and they ask all members to donate 6 dozen cookies, and be delivered today to the church. Thankfully hubby was home last night, and we baked away, it went pretty quickly too, and knowing he had to go to work today I had it all figured out. So here is how the schedule would look for today.
3am - Alarm for Hubby
3:30am - Hubby Departs
7:40am - Depart for the Y for PT (maddy and Maci go to daycare, they are only allowed 3 hours a day for daycare there) no problem, leave Y drop cookies off at church
8-8:45am - PT
9am: leave for Church, it's not too far away! and drop off the cookies
9:50-10:35 - Maddy swim back at the Y, plenty of time to get back there and get her changed.
10:40 - maddy in shower, try to get her hair dry, freezing outside, grab Maci from daycare (see this is why my brilliant idea to take her out between my PT and swim worked, since then I would not go over the 3 hour limit)
11:15 be home, grab lunch, get Maci down for a nap
12-2:30 - catch up rest, get maddy ready for tumbling
3-3:45pm - Tumbling, then grab gas for care
4:15 - be home start dinner for the 3 of us.
5 - dinner
6-7pm get girls down to bed
and look it's now almost
9pm - write up challenge for today!!!
Ok so all of that above was the plan. Here's how it really went
hubby still left at 3:30
Maddy was up at 5am
Maci stirring starting at 6am
I finally rolled out of bed at 6:30, grabbed Maci
7am, called PT, told them I was way too groggy to make it, (I hate medicine and sedation, that stuff takes forever to get out of my system)
8:30 maci down for nap
9:50 - missed swimming at the Y, maci snoozing and I was still real light headed and out of it.
noon - finally got into showers, all 3 of us girls, not easy in a shower stall, but we made it work
1:00 - maci up for a nap (she never took one, just played around for about an hour)
2:15, maddy on stair falling asleep (remember she was up at 5am????!!!!)
2:20 took her upstairs to nap, told her she could sleep or go tumbling, she elected tumbling
so we left, got gas, swung by church to drop off the cookies on way home (thankfully someone was still there)
4:15, started oven, dinner at
5
5:30 - Maci trying to keep eyelids open (remember no afternoon nap)
8pm - Maddy finally asleep, after being up since 5am.
9pm - writing up this post.
11pm - hubby should be home from work, would have been about now, but he gave his seat up on airplane to someone more deserving, so long day for him
And there you have it, so here's the challenge - hahahah
Are you over-scheduled? Scrap about it, and include lots of blue, both the places we typically visit on Friday's are filled with blue - the pool (obviously) and the place she goes tumbling

Charsanne, I had to chuckle (too impolite to laugh at others schedule) and desided I was NOT going to say anything about my schedule and why I did not even have day two page finished yet, I will scrap about it instead, eventually.
Great ideas for each day and they are so do doable with what goes on in my/our (as I am sure most everyone has the same daily happenings) lives.
Of to my work table to get some scrapping done.
I had been looking at these pictures recently (probably during one of my cleaning sprees) so when you posted the 2nd challenge for December I knew right away what song I wanted to use. I can remember her 2nd birthday when my dd received her bike, she took off like a streak.........
Challenge today is to use any challenge ever posted on the 11th of the month. I noticed that the Nov 11 sketch challenge didn't receive much love this past time. Plus I know there was a VSN that time as well. So pick a challenge, any challenge from the 11th of any month and go for it!

Today is the big Cookie Sale at my Church, and wow what an abundance of cookies there was, so many varieties, tables and tables full of them. And this is a small church that has maybe 50 regular attendees so to see that many cookies was a bit overwhelming.
So here's the challenge, think of your favorite kind of cookie, and use that as inspiration for your scrap page.
For example I love Sugar Cookies with M&M's so my page would be filled with lots of white space, with bold colored circles throughout (maybe in the form of brads or buttons)
Please use DDSBC10 as your keyword in the gallery

ps. Since I am not getting a chance to post this until after the day, I am happy to report that tiny little church made over 1200 bucks for local missions on Saturday just by selling some homemade cookies!

Yesterday we had a blast celebrating Maddys birthday party at a local tumbling place. She wanted a cowgirl themed party, so we delivered and had a ton of fun with it.
Below is a picture of the cake I made for her party based off the favors and decorations we had picked up for the event. So the challenge is to scrap a page of people wearing hats, you, others, etc. It can be a serious event, a silly one, just show off those hats!!!

Lol I hear ya, but those 3am - 11pm days are murder on me, especially when I have them filled up way more then I should given how I was feeling. We are starting to think he may have hit a muscle when he did the numbing shots on Wednesday, since it's still bugging me, but I go back to PT this afternoon, and lucky me has finally caught the girls cold!! At least hubby is home, since I am so run down right now! Hoping things will settle down, but I know they won't supposed to get another Nerve Block shot this week but I am not ready for it, physically or mentally!

Can you skip a few days/week for the shot?? Sounds like you are having a rough time of it this go round.
These are part of the Dec. 5 challenge for 5 circles. The page is slowly coming together ;) I had something else in mind at first but now I've gone in a whole other direction.
I really like the challenge where there's 9 elements on the page in a sort of tic tac toe layout. I'm still musing on how to pull that one off.
For the hat challenge, I'll make a graduation page. Hats Off will be the title, and it could be a photo of the moment where all the grads throw their hats up in the air.
I'm a bit stuck because my cricut imagine is acting up. It says the ink levels are fine, but it's not printing in black. I cleaned the print heads and also tried to calibrate the printer but no luck. I'll have to change the cartridges, I guess, as soon as I can afford them. Until then I guess I'll use the expression to cut some letters for the titles. I'm so happy I have a backup cricut No need to rush away to Ebay and buy a sizzix or cuttlebug alphabet.
Sorry I have been absent, been so run down all week, I love how my kids share everything including their snotty noses all over me, will get caught up tomorrow, they are done, just haven't been able to stare at a computer for long periods of time with this head cold, and aching body, loving what everyone is doing so far though
I do have more coming your way, don't you worry!!!

OK, I have ideas for all of the challenges I've yet to do, which are the tic tac toe, building and decorations. Hopefully I'll have at least one of those made today.
Charlsanne, I have a question. Can you make a list, maybe in the 1st post, of where each day's challenge can be found? You know like: December 1st challenge ~ post #
Charlsanne, I am sorry you are still feeling puny. With so much going on this time of year its hard being sick too. I am slow getting pages done so you have given me plenty to work with.
Hope you are in the pink soon!

This would sooooo help me!
I will see what I can do to help this out, fortunately they are in order, and I can post my Word Doc at the end as well. But let me get caught back up on posts while Maci is still sleeping.
Still feeling a little run down but better in general. And it's just Maci and I right now, hubby and Maddy headed to Seattle this past Sat for a few days, so today will be a busy one running around, but tomorrow will be jammie and cleaning day!!!

Many of us have already begun to wrap gifts. So the challenge today is to use a piece of that scrap wrapping paper on a page.
Or if you are a Digi scrapper, take a picture of a piece of wrapping paper.
Or just cheat and cut off a little piece and go for it, show us your pretty papers!!!

Its Maddys last day of school today before the winter break, and at almost 5, she isnt really excited about that, however, generally when its the last day for something feelings can be mixed, sometimes ecstatic (like the last day of school), maybe bittersweet (last day of a job), maybe sad (the day you decided to kick a habit to the curb)
So scrap about the Last Day Of .

For the past few years one of our neighbors has hosted an evening of caroling. This is the 3rd year for it and we have such a wonderful time, enjoying treats, watching the kids go crazy.
So what are some things you find yourself doing with friends/neighbors on a regular basis? Have you set up any traditions in your neighborhoods? Or even with a long time friend?
This challenge is all about traditions with Friends!! (not family)

Oooh cool, new challenges! Fun! I love the angel, red and green, no red and green and the traditions ones. I have a question, what if we have no wrapping paper at all? Can we just switch to a sort of free for all where you have to use pattern paper on your page?
I am done with my three in a row page. I just need to adhere the elements to the page.

Now to get working on the ones I'm behind on
well can you make some wrapping paper? Stamp on plain paper? Use a roller? Or if you have patterned paper that looks like wrapping paper??
Thanks for playing. Sorry I had to do a major catch up, and I have the rest of the challenges all written up too, so just post each day, look forward to all your hard work!

In honor of the start of Hanukkah. You will need to use only Blue and Silver (or white) on your page.
I did a little research on why Blue and Silver are the colors for Hanukkah, and it's interesting.
Here's one of the answers:
"There are no traditional colors for Hanukkah. Because of Influence by Christmas (namely the fact the Christmas has traditional colors), Jewish people took the colors of the Israeli Flag (blue and white) and made them Hanukkah colors. But this practice is only about 40 years old."
Also because one of the practices of Hanukkah is to light a candle each evening and there are 8 candles on a Hanukkah Menora (sometimes 9, as 1 candle is placed off to the side as the "lighting" candle)
You will need to put 8 of the same embellishment on your page. Such as 8 Brads, 8 Ribbons, 8 Flowers, 8 stamped objects that are the same.
Feel free to add any information and correct any of my research above.

I just read through all these challenges, and they are great! Thanks for doing this. I hope I'll have some time to complete a few of these.
Thanks Cheryl, my scrapping has gone off to the wayside, I have good days and bad ones at the moment, so I have lots of catching up to do as well, and am hoping to spark me to get some done too.
My PT, wants me to see a neck dr. (one who performs surgery) and get his opinion if I should have it since my arm is still completely numb and tingling all the time, he's wondering if the disks are just hitting the nerve wrong. But frankly I am scared to make that call, gonna wait till after the holidays!

I think I will have to make some myself There's some patterned paper in my stash which would do as faux wrapping paper if push comes to shove.
Thanks so much for all YOUR hard work putting up these challenges.
I'm keeping notes on your challenges as it looks I will likely be playing catch up through Jan. I can't believe time is flying so quickly. This is a such a great idea, and I have so much stash( uhm hoarder, lol ) I really want to do all 31. Happy holidays.

Lets have fun with this one, your mission, hmm I mean Challenge, is to use 12 different pieces of paper, it can be a mix of Designer Printed Paper and Plain stock, as long as there are 12 different ones, and also 21 Embellishments.
Again a mixture would be allowed, (but, pictures do not count toward the 21). I am referring to stickers, brads, buttons, etc

Bring out your sparkling bling, I want to see Glitter.
I know we have a great mix of locations on this board, which makes it so much fun, however, the first day of Winter to Me means Snow (even though up here in the Northern Part of IL we still dont have any snow to speak of, except for a dusting here and there) A Very rare thing indeed!
But in general snow glistens and shines and reflects, so break out the bling, glitter, rhinestones, anything thats clear (or white), shiny and sparkly!!! Load up your page with it!

Do you know someone or something that is mischievous.
I bring up the Something, because this year Maddy and Maci received the Elf on the Shelf which is a delightful little story of an Elf that Santa sends out to many kids to watch over them for the month prior to Christmas, and every night the Elf flies back to the North Pole and reports to Santa if the kids have been naughty or nice. Well these elves have been known to be very mischievous at times.
So time to scrap those mischievous pictures!!

Santa sent out a shelf elf named Elliot to my DGDs this year. He's causing quite a ruckus to the parents because they never know where they'll "find" him! I think they only have one photo of him so far, but maybe I can get the girls to tell me some stories about him. Great idea!
