Huge hugs Maggie! I truly know how it is to lose a fur baby! I had gotten a cold January 2010, and my little Max got it, I had to lease for work on Wednesday, came home on Saturday Clint said he was still sniffy and sneezing. We planned on going to the vet on Monday, he passed away Sunday morning. After being very cuddly with my all night.
I am still baby sitting Mia, she has been here now since September. The owner paid me to go get her fixed since I have 2 of her older brothers.
She is still kinda bald bellied.. feels so weird, she has like a sable fur then nothing! The Vet really liked her coat, i told him thet her brothers are the same way but not the mom. They must get it from Grand Parents... Lord only know s who the father is of any of the cats up there. LOL
Mom is a brown, orange calico, My little Wilbur is Orange and White, Spook is 100% white and Mia is 100% Black
all 3 of these are the only ones from her litters not took like mom.
Tommy kitty came home today, he's been gone almost a week. Living out here in the woods, with all the owls, hawks and Eagles, I always figure they are gone if they do not come in at bedtime.
We tried hard to make Mia stay an inside kitty, since she will go back to Minneapolis when they find a place (if they ever do)
Little turd would sneak out through the cold air returns in the closets. So we gave up and let her out with everyone else.
Thank you Vickkijo. Sorry about the lose of your little kitty too. I have had quite a few of them over the years and it's hard to have them go, but I still would not want to be without one in my house. They are just so sweet.
I think it would be really hard to have inside/outside kitties and then try to make one be inside only. Sounds like you need to keep the closets closed. :rolleyes: Mine are distinctly inside or outside.

I did get out last night with a GF. My SIL was performing in a theatical performance of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat and I had bought 2 tickets to it and invited a GF, so I really needed to get out for that. It was good to go out and enjoy the company of my GF and then those at the performance that I knew such as my DD and my DGC and also ran into a GF of my DD's that I knew way back in the day when her oldest was just a baby and my DD babysat for her. I haven't seen them in at least 15 years. She hasn't changed that much although that oldest is now 18 years old!
The performance was really spectacular. I had no idea that Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat was so funny! I think I have to get the DVD of the movie now.

Hello Gals!! @Maggie I am very sorry for your loss. Super hard! We have had two dogs pass during the course of our marriage. Both were old but it was still so hard. They were Moose & Sarah. I so loved both of them and still miss them. We have two dogs again, Boots & Rosie who we love. There was just something about our first team of Moose & Sarah though. Guess it was because we had them before having my daughter. They were the first born. LOL So glad we have Boots (lab mix) and Rosie (small poodle mix) now. House is too quiet without them. When Rosie is at the groomers I feel lost without her. That's just a few hours. LOL
@Vicki Jo - sorry for your loss also. Outside cats are tough. My mother in law has many of them that come to her place to be fed. She does a head count every morning and night and knows when one is missing. It is hard on her. She lives in the country. She has a name for each one of them. LOL I am very allergic to cats so it is dogs for me. My daughter would love a cat. So glad she is not allergic as it is no fun.
RE: the hop...............I am SO in. What do we need to create for part of the post? I was thinking of using my Cricut and rubber stamps with it. Also, what we create is a Valentine theme right? Do we have a button to put on our sidebar and if so when should it be up? I will have blog candy. Not sure what yet. This SUPER SHOPPER has lots of stuff in her "gift" giving magic box. I have a few punches or even a Cricut cartridge I could give away. I will figure it out. Cartridge would be lighter for me to ship than a punch. Keep me posted. If you need to reach me ASAP e-mail me. I check that often.

As for kitties, when Clint and I first got together he had a Rottweiler that hated cats, so my dd took my 2 with her.
When she passed in 2009 a cat just showed up out here, you've gotta remember we live 3 miles from the highway down a dead end dirt road, there is a neighbor about maybe half a city block form me on the West and the other is 1 mile to the East...that's it. SO he had to be Dumped of (or it's our dog reincarnated! Louie has many of baby Dog's quirks. LOL)
Strangely he was litter box trained (or just knew why I got him 1, then he was here all day every day for almost a year, now Louie is here once every 6 months or so.
little Max was my DS kitty but they couldn't keep it where they lived (why do ppl get pets, then ask if they are allowed)
We took in Max, Louie loved him, so did our Beagle Joker.
then Clint brought home Wilbur, and shortly after that Tommy showed up out ere, another dump job I think, very friendly uses the box, stayed off the counters...had to have been a house cat.
Months later he brought home Spook (Wilbur's brother) Just a different litter.
a friend had to move so I am baby sitting her kitten (she is Spook and Wilbur's sister), have been since September....if you had 2 teenage daughters, wouldn't you be looking for a place rather then staying in the Casino hotel spending a $1000 a week?
Then, Josh (Clint's boy) who is kinda living here, then at his grand parents while his mom finds a place, asked if I'd keep his kitty Tasha.
So there are 5 kitties.
DS bought the Beagle for me for Christmas 2007, Cheyenne is the Boxer mix Clint brought home just before my first surgery in January, she's a year old now.
Then right after my second surgery in June her brings home another puppy Spike...he tried hard to convince me it was an Old English Bull Dog.. Not a chance, he is so much a pit bull!
Love him dearly, but he is so bull headed, and a serious puppy, Clint left all the teaching to me, thinking that I needed them to keep me happy with my arm out of commission...grrrrr
To top off trying to teach the dogs anything, there is a HUGE 14 point buck in our yard, he lives here, torments me, but none of the hunters could ever find him during the day time....but the dogs follow him all over the place, it takes them about 4 hours to make the full round..where they go is beyond me, I have followed the trail but try to not go too far since there is a bear that lives on the property too. She killed our Basset hound in 2008.
Wow VikkiJo, that is some story about all your pets. Sounds like Clint is a pet enabler, bringing home all those dogs.
My backyard is the gathering place for the outside kitties. I have 6 that basically live there. Snowball (long-haired white) was the first one to really show up and asked to stay. She was probably about 3 and had already belonged to someone. She was very friendly, but she had been spayed at S.N.A.P. (Spay-Neuter Assistance Program) because her left ear was clipped.
Then Midnight and Stella started coming around (both long-haired black) although I know that they grew up in the area. I had remembered seeing them running around as kittens and figured they belonged to someone, but once they started coming, they didn't go away. They had not been fixed and 4 years ago Midnight had a little baby that she started bringing around and I was able to trap them (luckily I got them both in the same trap) and took Midnight down to get her fixed. The baby became my Maggie Mae who now lives with me inside (gray tabby with some white spots on her). She's 4 this year I believe. Midnight was about 4 or 5 when she had her. I was finally able to trap Stella after a few months and also took her to SNAP. She was already pregnant, but they aborted those kittens. I'm so surprised that neither of them had kittens before this.
We were fine here with just the 3, but then Missy showed up. I thought she belonged to the lady that lived behind me because she would always come from that area and go back there when she finished eating. I found out later (and after she had a litter of kittens) that she didn't belong to that lady although the lady took the kittens after she had them. Missy was very friendly and I was able to take her to get spayed easily.
Shortly after that Larry (Gray tabby with a lame back leg - he limps a lot, but can get around pretty good) showed up along with Wanda (short-hair black). They came and went on their own schedule. Wanda ended up getting pregnant. I was able to catch her one little kitten and my GF, the cat rescuer took him for herself. Then Wanda disappeared and I didn't see her for months (almost a year) until she showed up here again this past September pregnant again and then had Casper and Cory. They are just the sweetest little white twin boys.
Not sure yet what will happen to them. I have a GF that may take them, but I'm thinking that I may keep at least one of them here as a playmate for Maggie Mae.

Michelle is suppose to be working on the blog button for the hop but Nana's bad days are out-weighing the good ones recently and it's really weighing on her.
Is anyone else good at buttons? I've not learned how to do them yet.
We just need something with a Valentine/ Love theme and PBU on it.

Good morning Ladies. Hopefully I'll have some time this weekend to plan things out for the Hop. I have my family coming for dinner to celebrate my DGS's birthday which is on Saturday. I need to check with my DD to see what his favorite meal is. You never know with my DGC. He's a chocolaholic like me, so I'll probably make a chocolate cake with fudgy frosting. Probably not on my WW diet, but oh well, I'll have extra points.

Count me IN . great button kelly . so we all make some type of valentine card. i dont remember seeing anything specific , like greeting on the front or show us your bling . do we want to have some similar requirement?

Happy Friday Gals! It sounds like I need to get ready for a BLOG HOP! Woo Hoo! Excited that we are doing one. I have a Disney Girl Crafts Facebook page (in the baby stage) but I will post our hop on that page also.
Happy Saturday! Last night I worked on a card for my post for the hop. It is coming along well. I hope not to be scrambling at the last minute to get this done. LOL This week I dropped a commitment that I have had this past year. I was a blogger for one of the local groups. I have mentioned them on my blog before but not that I blog for them occasionally. It was time to bow out. I really felt that helping them took away time that could be spent on paper crafting time. I can already feel the difference:-) And the difference is a good one. I was somewhat conflicted to let it go but definitely know it was the best choice. Felt good to be crafting last night:-) Happy Saturday Friends!
Morning all....thinking about what I'm going to make for our hop. I'm thinking of doing some candy as well. I have lots of goodies from SU! that I've never used so putting my brain on.

I got some digi images from The Digi Garden today, so I'm good for my card. Now I just have to design something. ;) She was having a buy one get one free and then if you ordered 3, you got the whole new release that came out today, so I have a ton of images right now because I originally ordered 6, got 6 free, plus todays which I think was maybe 6 or 7.

I can understand what you mean about giving up a blog. Sometimes the 2 DT's I'm on seem too much, but I love doing both of them. Lucky they do involve crafting. :mrgreen:

Maggie, That is nice that they involve crafting:-) I spent today figuring out the Cricut Craftroom. Had I not gave up that blog I would of been working on it. The hope this year is that I craft more:-) Super excited about our up coming hop. Have a good evening.
