We went to some AWESOME Fireworks last night at a local highschool with great lawn seats! It was very fun.
Unfortunately I spent later last night and this morning in the ER. Seems my Gall Bladder doesn't like me anymore so I spent today in bed, tomorrow meeting with Surgeon and surgery Wed or Thur.
Oh NO! Not a good way to spend a holiday...will be praying and thinking of you this week....take it easy until then and good luck.....
Since things are pretty quiet on vacation (DH sits on the bed and watches TV and DGS sits on the couch and watches TV in the evenings) I brought along the PC so I could scrap. I finished up a page I started quite a while ago for one of Patti's challenges ThursFS0602.

No fun! My mom had her gallbladder taken out a couple years ago; the doc says that you can suddenly have issues if you eat something really fatty. Mom may never eat chicken-fried steak again! However, the recovery from the surgery was pretty quick and easy. Just take it easy
Hope everyone enjoyed the holiday. We got to see fireworks even here in England :cool: And I spent yesterday working on baby books so I'm already at 6 pages for the month so far. Will post to my gallery later today; for now they're just up on my blog.

Scrapbook goal: April 7/10 MAY /5 YTD 32

Yikes, Lela, that's not a fun way to spend a holiday. I hope everything goes well with the surgery.
I don't know where June went either! One month of summer done and it doesn't feel like we've done anything. the girls and I did go to the pool 3 of the last 4 days and went shopping the other day. I guess we are trying to make up for lost fun time in June when we were working on VBS stuff.
I will probably be in our office more over the next few weeks too because one of our employees turned in his notice and Friday was his last day. I am going to set my goal for 5 pages for July.
I really need to clean out my craft room. Since it is off the garage, everything gets dumped in there when we clean out the cars. Stuff just doesn't seem to make it up the stairs where it belongs.
Off to get ready for the day. Have to go sort out and put away leftover VBS stuff then stop by the office.

So sorry to hear that, Lela! Glad to hear you're getting the surgery done soon! My sister (54) just had hers removed about 2 mos. ago. She had problems sporadically for quite some time but tests didn't indicate any gallbladder issues. Finally, they were able to get to the bottom of it and she had the surgery. She's doing well now. She's cut back on the cream sauces and such, but she was up and around in just a couple of days. Surgery things have really changed--my dad had his removed in the late 50's and he was in bed per dr. orders for over 2 weeks and could only eat fat-free foods for months afterwards!
I'll keep you in my prayers and know you'll do just fine!
Lela, hope you are feeling better SOON! I had mine out 14 years ago (I was only 14 years old at the time)...it was an outpatient surgery, I was sore for a couple of days but felt pretty good in a week's time! So here's hoping that your recovery is short and sweet and easy!

Got another quick page done tonight. Took one of the pages I did for VSBN and flipped the whole thing horizontally, then replaced the pictures, journaling and title. Now all the autographs we got at Animal Kingdom are completed. This one also qualified for one of the Thursday challenges from February to do a VSBN challenge...
I am sorry to hear that you will have to have surgery. You will be in my thoughts and prayers. We will hope for a quick recovery for you! So you can get back to lots of scrappin!

We came back from camping and I now feel like I need a vacation...been non-stop since returning and not looking like a break until maybe the middle of the month. I'm going to go low and shoot for 4 pages this month.
Summer break is half over for us. The girls go back to school August 15.
I didn't do very well at all in JUne that was a big fat zero for me. I'm going out on a limb here and say that I'm going to complete 8 pages for July, I got totally side tracked with card making.
I just want to add my well wishes for Lela along with everyone elses.

Vacation is SO much fun. And I get a chance to scrap without lots of other things to do and I just finished one of DGS competing in the 4th of July contests at the resort we are staying at.
I really appreciate all the well-wishes and prayers for surgery tomorrow. I'll be glad to have this over with, the infection is really making me feel poorly.
It's Laparoscopic so under an hour and 4 small cuts. I hope to be back feeling better Friday.
I need to go on a vacation like Terry's -- way to go with all the scrapping!

It's Laparoscopic so under an hour and 4 small cuts. I hope to be back feeling better Friday.
I need to go on a vacation like Terry's -- way to go with all the scrapping!

Scrapbook goal: April 7/10 MAY /5 YTD 32
I love the summer time! I have a mile long list of what I enjoy about summer but for this challenge we will go with 3 of my favorites. I would like you to design your page around the following list.
Lemonade....I love lemonade so lets make YELLOW the main color used in the page.
Splashing in the pool what fun that is....so lets add some BLUE somewhere on the page too.
and my favorite outfit for summer....a bathing suit, flip flops and sunglasses!
If your bathing suit is one piece use one decorative edge, if your suit is a two piece use two decorative edges.
Flip flops...use at least two pictures
Sunglasses.. use ribbon someplace on the page.
Not to hard of a challenge but sounds like fun! Your page DOES NOT have to be a summer page just follow the recipe and make any type of page!
Aaaack! I've been away for a little while I didn't realize since March! LoL! Life has been super busy that I am only getting back in the groove of posting some layouts! With CHA right around the corner I'm getting ready to stock the store with tons of new items! Needless to say my creative mojo has been flowing! LOL! Here is a cute layout of my boy....as for a page goal...maybe next month! HA!

I was so hoping to go to today's shuttle launch but had to decide against it....suppose to be about a 6 hour traffic commute back (I only live :45) so that with a busy weekend schedule and only a 30% chance of liftoff I decided against going. Too bad it wasn't next weekend when I have absolutely nothing on the calendar...that's the way the cookie crumbles ;-) Still off to the beach area this weekend for a LAX tournament with friends so should be a fun, fun weekend! Off to make more memories to scrap :-)

I actually thought about this too since it's supposed to be the last one but we are not close enough to drive there. Wish there would have been one last year while we were at Disney though. Have fun this weekend.
Today looks like a scrapping day for me. The guys want to go back to MagiQuest and DGS asked me if I would like to stay "home" since they would be a while. Could I take that as a hint?
My hubby is home today, so I'm hoping he can take the kids somewhere and I can scrap! We'll see. I finished another layout but I can't share it yet because it's for a design team. Woohoo! I always wanted to say that. I'll post it after the 15th.

How awesome! Definitely could be a once in a lifetime opportunity!
I've now reached my goal for July so all the ones I get done now are bonus pages! I just took pics of fireworks so Michele's challenge came at a good time I did create some vellum for my journaling block so it also qualified for one of Patti's past challenges and I used one of Sally's older sketches from last year.
I'll start on Patti's Thursday challenge next I think until the boys get back from MagiQuest. We've got gift cards to go to Rioz at Broadway at the Beach tonight and since I didn't eat lunch....I'm gonna be ready! yum!

It's Friday. How are you feeling, Lela? I was a little worried you would have to skip CTMH Convention - oh, the horror of that thought!
Hope all is well Lela. I had my gallbladder removed 23 years ago (of course, the old style, not lapriscopically) when I had a newborn at home. I have never looked back - never have had another pain, can eat whatever I want to with absolutely no problem. Best thing I ever did. Hope you are as lucky as I was. Some people have to watch certain foods, hopefully you don't.

I'm stuffed from supper at the steakhouse and scrumptious dessert! I didn't get to start a new page though. I've spent the last 2 hours downloading minikits from Jessica Sprague mini lessons that I bought about 2 weeks ago when she had a sale and they were $1 each. The internet here at the resort is SO much faster than mine at home so I thought I'd better take advantage while I could! Time to go "cuddle" with DGS so he'll go to sleep quicker. And then I'll be back.

My DH started laughing and said, "Scrapbooker, you just made her day a little better." Everyone laughed! She did it too! Left me 3 picts
Unfortunately, my surgery didn't go as smoothly as all would have liked and I have to have another surgery on Monday :( My GB was in bad shape so when the surgeon took it out, some of the stones came out and one is lodged in another duct ... not where it's supposed to be, can't leave it as it will cause problems so ... here I go again. Hopefully I can put this behind me soon, I'm tired of pain already, haha! What a wimp!

My DH started laughing and said, "Scrapbooker, you just made her day a little better." Everyone laughed! She did it too! Left me 3 picts
Unfortunately, my surgery didn't go as smoothly as all would have liked and I have to have another surgery on Monday :( My GB was in bad shape so when the surgeon took it out, some of the stones came out and one is lodged in another duct ... not where it's supposed to be, can't leave it as it will cause problems so ... here I go again. Hopefully I can put this behind me soon, I'm tired of pain already, haha! What a wimp!
Sorry to hear you have to get more done, Lela. Hopefully Monday's surgery will go well and you'll be back to yourself (minus gallbladder problems) soon! At least you have some new pics to scrap! haha! When I went to the ER a few years ago, I asked them if I can have a couple of electrode patches for a scrapbook page. They gave them to me, but I'm not sure they knew quite what to think!
Wendy - did you get any of the duststorm that went through your area on Tuesday? I saw video of it and couldn't believe it!! I don't think it went as far east as Gold Canyon, so we're hoping our house wasn't in its' path. It did go over Wild Horse Resort that we stayed at last year when you came and picked us up for dinner.

I am so sorry you are still in pain. I will be praying for you on Monday. I was surprised to see your comments on my page last night. I was hoping that was a good sign. Thank you for the comments. GF you are a trooper!

It was a very weird storm--we didn't see it at all and were surprised to wake up to the news talking about it. Friends two towns over got it and friends in Tempe said their pool was entirely covered with dirt. That's the way the weather is here in AZ--you could have rain two blocks away and not get it at your house!
