RETREATERS: Sounds like maybe on Friday we will plan to start arriving about Noon, and go from there! We are potlucking meals on Friday and snacks/drinks for the weekend remember, so plan for your cravings accordingly. I'm bringing a lot of bottled water, planning on Pepsi, some snacks, etc.
Question: Anyone have any favorite movies they want to bring/watch? I'm not one for horror films personally. I do have a collection of over 1600 movies here if you have requests... mostly oldies to be honest, but I do have a lot of chick flicks too, or musicals, etc.
Carol (aka meloleary) and I are not able to attend the September retreat. We've already paid in full and there is a room set aside for us. Unfortunately, we will not be there.
But our disappointment could be your good fortune!
If you can be there, please contact Susan privately and ask for one of our reservations. It's FREE, it's fun and it will ensure that the group is full of dedicated crafters.
Please don't let our reservations go to waste! Contact Susan today.
Just checking in. I'm at the hospital, been here since last night, apparently something to do with my heart possibly so as reluctant as I am, I'm here obeyingly, waiting for test results. Praying lots. Waiting now for a doctor to come in and hopefully let me go home. I just want to go home and craft!
Sending prayers your way. Hope you are home with scissors and glue very soon!
Terrie

Thank you all for your prayers and well-wishing! I am HOME!
God is so good!
All the tests they did came back clear and no indication of heart problems. Not sure how the first doctor read the test the way he did, but it appears it was an incorrect read as the last doctor pulled all the results and showed it to me and cleared me to go home! YEAH!
The pain and such that caused me to go in may have just been from allergies or such aggravating things and causing inflammation or such. No matter what, I know GOD has taken care of things and heard your prayers!
Now to relax and maybe even craft this evening. And definitely still planning on the retreat this weekend!
Praising God!
So glad to hear you are home! (I just got the message). God is good!

I am demonstrating shrinky dinks-either for embellishments or for jewelery-so if you have a favorite stamp set you would like to use, please bring it with you. I have a butterfly stamp I have been working with, but it doesn't look like adult 'jewelry' material.
only a few more days

Praise God that you are home and okay Susan! He is good!
How many do we have attending? I was looking at my supplies for the air fresheners and I have 9 coasters and can't seem to find any locally to buy. I thought I had more. If that is not enought I will switch my craft to tile coasters.
We have 6 of us since Terrie and Carol are not going ot make it and I haven't heard any takers on those two spots!
I have some extra tile coasters and will bring them if you need those. Not sure of what supplies you need for the air fresheners, let me know!
Hoping to get all my ideas ready now and supplies... I basically lost two days to the hospital stuff so am trying to catch up now!

Thanks for the offer Susan. I'm not going to need the tile coasters. I came up with something for the airfresheners. I think they turned out rather cute. Hope you all like them=).

RETREATERS: As there are only six of us, and we are arriving early on Friday, I encourage you to bring extra projects to work on that you want to get done, or extra projects to share if you like too!
Oooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo oooooooohhhhh, my goodness!
For those of you who did not attend the retreat: You missed out!!!!!
We had an absolutely wonderfully totally completely relaxing time making all sorts of crafts... covered tins, sewn cards, paper flowers, cardstock flowers, air fresheners, shrink art jewelry, challenge projects, scrabble tile nameplates, punch art tags, domino jewelry, and more! And there was more food than you could possibly eat in a week. Including cookies, tiramisu, blueberry cake, oreo balls, and chocolate turtles... oh my! And I had a massage there too... all just what I needed to recup from the hospital thing last week.
The facility was just right for a small group so we are planning to do this again in April, just waiting to hear on the dates from the retreat center.
To those who attended: Thank you for a most wonderful weekend!
I had a fabulous weekend ladies! It was great to be able to talk...and craft of course. Thanks for listening, I haven't had anyone to talk to about all the stuff that had been weighing me down. I feel rejuvinated and can't wait to see you all again!
Chris

Just remember we're only a phone call away, and I'm just a half hour and a cup of coffee away too.

So glad, Karen! How long was the train ride? Did you end up going through that storm? It hit by our house for a while and I saw it while watching the WVU game.

I was getting off the train at 10:30 so it wasn't bad. Had the whole compartment to myself so I just dozed and read. Could have crafted but a little too bumpy. I had two gentlemen (angels in disguise) help me with the luggage. We had to board on the other side which meant going down two flights of stairs under the tracks and up two flights of stairs. It was wonderful how God provided because they wouldn't let me carry anything!

ALL: FOR OCTOBER MEETING: I'm open to host at my home but need to know if you prefer October 15, or October 22nd? I can do either one! I was thinking we'd move the time up to begin at 11am and make it a potluck, then we can go til about 4pm. That way it hopefully will be worth it for those of you driving longer distances too!
For those who attended the retreat this past weekend:
We were having a discussion about chickens at one point --- Just wanted to share that this morning someone had the same question on the radio, and I had to laugh. The answer:
A chicken does not need a rooster to lay eggs. However, without the rooster, the eggs are unfertilized, hence cannot grow into chickens. The eggs you buy at the store are unfertilized for example. If you want to have chicks and grown chickens, you'd need a rooster too, but not just for hens and eggs to eat. Raising Chickens
I would love to come in October, but need to firm up some other plans before I commit. I will let you know as soon as I can whether it will work out. I had a great time last weekend and look forward to seeing everyone soon.
ALL: I have tentatively booked Michaels on the 15th but have to go pay for it today if we are going to use it.
They also have the 22nd available in October.
I need to know that we will have at least 6 of us attending to book this, otherwise I am going to need to cancel the October meeting I think.
Please update here if you are planning to attend.
Thanks.
Susan-
I can make the 22ns, but not the 15th. If we don't have 6 for Michaels, I am up to having it at my place in Oct.
As for November I think the 12th might be better because Thanksgiving is the week after the 19th and it could get busy for some people who are traveling.

I can move it to the 22nd but we aren't getting very many responses on here for folks who can commit so I don't want to book it and have only a few of us there.
I am going to cancel the Michael's for now. I will list your house on Oct. 22nd, but I think we then cancel November as the 12th would just be a couple of weeks later then.
Thanks.

Ok, I can't do the 22nd - going to a crop for the cure in Reading, PA and Nov 12th I'm at a Shoebox Swap/Scrapbooking Crop in Ocean City, MD (if anyone is interested they still have openings $285/double).
Hopefully in Jan/Feb or spring I can get it together in between all those other crops I've signed up for - my hubby just loves me.
