Wow! So many great ribbon ideas! LeisaJane- I love those examples of flower stems! Beedubya- Ren�e's blog with ribbon ideas ROCKS!
Now I'm going to challenge myself to make something new with ribbon this week! Keep those ideas coming!
You can use ribbon scraps and adhere them to a piece of chipboard, then die cut a shape from the area on the chip board you covered in ribbon, this makes a very unique embellishment and it uses up all those scraps pieces. Archivers had a sample card on their website last time i looked.

Diane, like you I love ribbon, and I want to use it in creative ways, so this is really a wonderful resource.
Also, I have been looking for books that deal exclusively or almost exclusively with ribbon. Any suggestions? So far I have found one, which I may order.
I've seen this book called Ribbonrie at Michaels a few times. Never bought it - but it does look pretty when I've paged through it.

I notice that Amazon does have a few titles, and I think I will also try Alibris. They have great prices. Usually I buy school books from them, but had not thought to see if they have craft books.

Thanks for your answer. When I was still living in Australia, there was a really cheap shop where I could buy my ribbons. We have not such craft shops here in Bali.
And I appreciate that. So for someone in your position, a club might be the way to go. Online shopping as well. I ran across a couple of good online sources of ribbon. If you want I will post them.

I was wondering also about making your own buttons, with a circle paper punch and adding larger holes to tie ribbon through. Even clear acrylic buttons or designer paper.

does anyone know of a company that has ribbon sample kits? I have so much cardstock and designer paper already, would hate to find out that none of it matches. that's the only reason I haven't ordered online. but time to
stamp has some tempting satin ribbon and their 5 choices, 25 yards for 9.95
doesn't seem like a bad deal
