We pride ourselves on being great hosts, but guests have limited access to some of our incredible artwork, our lively forums and other super cool features of the site! You can join our incredible papercrafting community at NO COST. So what are you waiting for?
We hope you're enjoying the little bump in speed we have gotten on the site since the move to the Internet Brands servers!
One of the things that improves speed is how many items are displayed in the forums, so I wanted to be sure you knew about a change that helps boost our speed.
Notice at the bottom of this screenshot (attached) that in the highlighted forum there's a dropdown that limits the age of the posts you see. If you want to see older threads - they're not gone, they're just not brought in on that initial view. Change your view to see more.
Thanks for your patience as we finish up a few little hitches in our getalong, and thanks to the IB team!
Can that selection be changed permanently, or does it have to be changed each time? I just discovered this, changed the "age" from 100 days to a longer period. The next time I opened the same sub forum it was back to 100 days.
I have the same question as what etsdas had - is there a way for the selection to be changed permanently.
I made the change to one of the sections I was looking in, did a search on a term I searched on before the switchover to the new servers, yet I don't get any returns on results like I did before. Now all I get is a message saying that the search term either doesn't exist or it's too common or too short and I have to search for something else. It use to work, now it doesn't. Just like I still can't search for items within My Favorites. It worked before the switch, now it doesn't. The usefulness of this site for me has taken a MAJOR downturn since the switchover.
Click your username, then go to "Edit Options" in your settings menu on the left. You can choose a default thread age at the bottom.
As for the search in Favorites, that is high on our list of bugs to fix - it's affecting users with large numbers of favorites. :( I'm so sorry, but I promise it will be fixed!

Any reason why search terms that use to work now are too short or whatever? I've had to try and remember the user name of some I know posted to certain threads I've been looking for so I can then look at their personal profile and their posts to find the threads I want. What a pain.

You'd have to give me a specific example of terms you're using and where for me to check on that and see if I can help.
I was trying to find a poster here but couldn't remember her SCS name, but I knew she had posted to one of the threads about the SU IDA. Previously, I could put in IDA and would find the threads so I could find her postings, but since the changeover, I search for IDA and I get the following message back:
Sorry - no matches. Please try some different terms.
The following words are either very common, too long, or too short and were not included in your search : IDA

Okay, just got home from an awards thing and tried it - thank you, it's working now! I no longer get an error message saying that it can't find anything. Now the threads actually show up. Thanks again.
This question may have been asked before, but i couldn't find it, so I am asking here.
I have found several video tutorials that I would like to save. I ofentimes can not remember the name of the tutorial or the section it was in.
Is there a way to save the tutorials anywhere? As an example, in YouTube you can add videos to your own queue. I have not found a way to do that here or I may have missed it. If there is not currently a way to have your own queue to save items you want to refer back to, may I suggest that this possibility be looked into?

Hi Ruby! Merry Christmas!
Our videos are actually on YouTube, so you can add them to your favorites on that site!

I can't find my own Buy/Sell thread
Hello,
I can't find my own Buy/Sell thread that I posted (of I think in February). I used to have it listed in my 'subscriptions' but it's now gone. I tried to find it in the Buy/Sell forum by my name and thread topic, I think it was..."Motivated to Sell...", something like that. Does it get deleted after a specific amount of time???
Thank You, Denise
