Default November Guest Designer Challenge and Chatter

"I'm dreaming of a WHITE Christmas!"

Who wants to receive next month’s UNRELEASED sets (DT sample sets—no packaging or labels, valued at $50-$80) AND be invited to participate in our monthly blog hop, as well as partake in next month’s MFTeasers???

Well, if you're sitting in front of your computer thinking "ME! ME!", then let me tell you how you can win this contest...

Amy and I are your hostesses this month, and we've cooked up a challenge that will leave you wishing for snow! The deal is to make a project using WHITE as the primary color! Your project can be anything you want to make, be it card, scrapbook page, giftie item - whatever! Just make sure that it's mostly WHITE!

Other important details:

Projects must feature the use of some MFT stamps or products, but are not limited strictly to MFT stamps or products.

The deadline for entries is Tuesday, November 3rd, 10 p.m. EST.

When uploading your entries, please use keyword MFTGUESTDT1109.

The two DT Guest Designer hostesses (Amy and I) will review all entries and choose ONE winner no later than 8:45 p.m. EST on Wednesday, November 4th.

The winner will be announced in the release party thread as well as in this challenge thread on November 4th, by 8:45 p.m. EST.

Please do not "double dip" for the challenges. If you can win something tangible, then your entry needs to be ONLY for that challenge.

We can't wait to see what you all come up with!!

Oh Amy that is beautiful!! I was thinking about using different embossing folders, but I wouldn't have thought to use more than one or two. Now I'll have to try that!

No such thing as off topic around here ... well, mostly I'll be popping in and out if anyone's feeling chatty.

Amy, will you please do a tutorial, or something, for that snowglobe. My headache is just not letting me follow the blog directions for some reasons. I want to make a snowglobe sometime this winter!!

I love white layered cards. I made a couple wedding cards that way, but I didn't think to do a Christmas card that way. I just gave myself a thunk on the head for that. Thanks for the enlightenment.

I like the way this turned out, maybe I'll save it for DH for Christmas.

Hi Bonnie, the snowglobe effect on my challenge sample card? For that, I stamped and colored the Polar Love image and die-cut it into a cicle. I drew in the horizontal lines for the ground. Then I masked the Polar Love image (I used Eclipse tape) and with the Spellbinders circle die in place I sponged on Soft Sky ink. Removed the mask and added the sentiment label along the bottom (also die-cut with a Spellbinders tag die). Hope that helps!

Michele posted a really awesome snowglobe shaped card yesterday, too - with instructions included.

Holiday Inn is one of my favorites! Did you know the song "White Christmas" was performed in that movie first?

I would love to join the challenge, but I don't own any MFT products yet.

We do offer digital images, which can be downloaded immediately after purchase, so there's still time!!

BTW - I am totally out of the loop on Holiday Inn...who wants to fill me in??? There's a Blockbuster nearby (shocking!) and I've got a coupon!

I did know that White Christmas was performed in Holiday Inn first. I actually saw Holiday Inn first.

Kim - Holiday Inn is an Irving Berlin movie with Bing Crosby and Fred Astaire. It's old - still in B&W but I just love it. My mom and I watch it year round as it goes through all the holidays incl. Easter, Thanksgiving, etc (although the focus is Christmas).... There's a rivalry between Bing and Fred for a girl, so it's cute and funny!

Thank you for the details. I really, really, REALLY love your card. I'm going to make a snowglobe, not for the challenge; haven't figured out what I'm going to do for it yet.

This is my favorite Christmas movie. I always watch it while I write out my cards each year.
