Colorin' a Lollipop face - by Linda
Okay, be patient with me folks cause I've never done this before but I thought with the release of the Lollipops on Friday it was a good time to attempt a step by step tutorial on how I color a face, specifically, a Lollipop face!
The image on the right is where I put my copics, the image on the left is a line drawing of the approximate location on where I stop when I start adding colors. For the smoothest shading, work quickly, and don't let your colouring dry out. Paper and ink make a difference too! I am a HUGE fan of Bella's Bestest Paper and brilliance ink. I occassionally use Memento but I think that Brilliance gives me a sharper image.
Let's get started!
color the entire faced with E0000

Now add E000, the image on the left will show where I added the E000, then blend the line with you E0000

Now add your E00, same as above, but not as deep as your E000 and blend with E000

Now it is time to add cheeks, use your R20, I like my cheeks to be at the side of the face rather than circles in the middle of the face, but that is personal preference and I do both!
When you add your R20, do it deeper at the edge and then fade it out a bit toward the center of the face and blend the entire thing with your E0000. Then if you want more pink go in 'easy' with the R20 just at the deepest color near the edge of the face....AND BLEND AGAIN! keep going a couple times until you have the look you want.
Another easy thing to get a smooth blend is to scrub you E0000 into your R20 marker and that will give you a nice graduated color between the two.

One last thing....the face may look a little blotchy in the pics and that is because the ink wasn't quite dry yet, it will smooth out as it dries! Everything looks better in the morning! LOL!

One more thing! make sure the face is nice and dry when you add your hair lines otherwise the color you add for the hair will blend with the ink on the face, rather than sit on top of it.....hmmmm, maybe I should continue with this and show pics of adding hair! stay tuned! not tonight though, i gotta a class to teach at Paper Pickle.
