Welcome to Stamping Bella's WCMD Challenge! Stamping Bella is so excited to be part of this!
My sister-in-law recently attended a 1980's-themed party. We reminisced about the wild clothes, the big hair, and the funky music from back then. Who can forget Cyndi Lauper's wild outfits, multi-colored hair, and her recording of Girls Just Want to Have Fun?
"Some boys take a beautiful girl
And hide her away from the rest of the world
I want to be the one to walk in the sun
Oh girls they want to have fun
Oh girls just want to have fun
That's all they really want
Some fun
When the working day is done
Girls--they want to have fun
Oh girls just want to have fun" (copyrighted by Robert Hazard)
Emily, owner of Stamping Bella, is definitely a girl who wants to have fun! To celebrate her spirit and the spirit of Stamping Bella, I am challenging you to show me what you and your girlfriends do to have some fun! For an extra bit of flair, throw in some some 1980's-ish colors and/or DP! Please use the keyword WCMD09C when uploading your cards and come back and post them here, too, so everyone can see what you've made. Also leave a quick note sharing what you like to do when you want to have some fun!
For my own card (attached below), I used Ohsoprettybella by Stamping Bella. My daughter and I are recent converts to Bare Escentuals. We love to go play in that store! There is one in our local mall, right above Starbucks. Between the two shops, we can have a most delightful outing! For my card, I used soft colors, reminiscent of the Miami Vice colors that were all the rage in the 1980's. I colored Bella's hair to look like big 1980's hair! The inside sentiment reads, "It's a girl thing!"

I'm continuing with MY challenge of only doing Christmas cards today. I loved snow days and playing outside all day long with my friends. I STILL love building snowmen!
oh yeah, girls just wanna have fun... (oh great, now that durned song will be running through my pea brain all day)... Already got a germ of a plan going on, just have to see if it's OK with BFF to post a photo card.
Madonna in the '80's inspired me for this one as can be seen from the cross in the center of the beading. The neon green and pink were from the wild hair colors of the bands of the day (googled 1980's - SCARY - remind anyone of Halloween). The black along the bottom represents fishnet stockings. Of course you need lace and beads. Anyone else remember those superlong bead necklaces? I had 17 of them all in different colors!!! LOL!
This was a first "stab" at stringing seed beads too! A bit of a challenge for that component alone. My eyesight isn't what is was waaaaay back in the 80's!!! OK, sucking my stabbed fingers and off to check out challenge 4.
I didn't have any cool girlfriend stamps, so I used a downloaded image from PC Crafter. I made some paint splattered black cardstock for my background as my salute to the 80's....DD had some jeans like this way back when! Friends
When I saw this the first thing I thought of was John Huges movies and sleepover parties. TOOOO fun! So I have had the song "Don't you, forget about me...." in my head as I made my card. Fun Challenge, thank you for hostessing it!
