My Favorite Challenge/Sketch Challenge and Chatter Thread - Week 8 (7/16/09)
Hello, MFT fans! This summer is beginning to fly by! I can hardly believe that I'm posting WEEK EIGHT of the MFT My Favorite Challenge and Chatter Thread?!? It has been fantastic to see you girls playing along and I love chatting with you all each week!
Now, don't forget that you have a week to complete this week's challenge, plus you get to chat it up with all your MFT friends! And the bonus is that you have a chance to win MFT PRIZES!
Just to review, here are the challenge details:
*A new My Favorite Challenge and Chatter thread is started every Thursday
*Complete the My Favorite Challenge by Wednesday at 10:00 AM
*ONE winner will be awarded $10 in MFT Money each week (not good on bubble bin sets)
*This will NOT be a random draw
*The winner will be chosen by Joanne, Christina OR the guest judge of their choice
*The winner for the week will be posted after the challenge is posted the following Thursday
Ready? Here's your Week 8 Challenge!
This week, the My Favorite Challenge is to add texture to your project. It could be crumpled, rumpled, ripped, embossed, debossed, roughed up on the edges --- whatever. We’d love to see how YOU incorporate textures into your project.
DON'T FORGET: Please do NOT "double dip" for the MFT challenges. Since the My Favorite Challenge and the MFT Sketch Challenge have prize winners, Here is the general rule of thumb:
If you can win something tangible, then your entry needs to be ONLY for that challenge. So, if you want to participate in the SCS color challenge and then use the MFT sketch? That is totally fine, since you can only win something for the MFT sketch. If you do the My Favorite Challenge, it can't be combined with the MFT sketch challenge or the One Click Challenge since they all have a prize.
Your keyword for this week is: MFTMFC8
Your deadline is Wednesday, July 22 at 10:00 AM EST
Winner will be announced on July 23
If you have any questions, please post them here and someone will help you!
MFTMFC8 Gallery
I've attached my sample - I love rumpling up paper! I crumpled and rumpled the designer paper, then I edge distressed, sponged (I think it brings out the rumpling so much more) sewed, sanded (the chipboard) and created a little fringe all around the center panel.
Jody is guest hostessing today. Christina is "out of the office" and will return next week. Here are some design details from Jody: For my challenge card, I used the new Annie LaPoint stamp set: Spread a Harvest of Hope. I wanted a mix of dainty and dirty. I added texture to the ground by ripping a piece of Eclipse masking panel and then sponging along the edge. The back layer of white card stock has been coated with Ranger crackle paint in white. It adds a bit of texture without being overpowering. Finally, I roughed up the edges of both white layers with my paper distresser and then rolled the edges with my fingers causing the paper to feather.
SO, have fun adding texture to your projects this week! We can't wait to see what you come up with!

The winner this week is Melody!! Just look at this amazing project - I love all the attention to detail (sewing. ahhh bestill my heart!) the rich color pallette and spectacular coloring - did you catch the wood paneling, flooring and the matching tube of chocolates! Ohhh, I'm smitten with this project for sure!
Congratulations, Melody! I'll PM you with the certificate code!

Thanks for the fun challenge Joanne. For my texture I embossed my butterflies with a cuttlebug folder. It's a Christmas snowflake one, don't know the name of it.
--My paper is textured too.

--I use to have loads of problems when I was on Explorer and have switch to Firefox. --I love it and would never go back, it's faster and I can blog hop and leave comments with ease.

Cindy, I would agree with Firefox. I've never used IE, actually. I was a diehard Netscape user and went directly from NS to Firefox when NS bit the dust. I love Firefox as much as I loved NS!

Invites are done except for getting the photo on. My spare room looks like a floral shop & I have 2 cases of glassware sitting here waiting to be etched. Adding class to a rednecked wedding ain't easy!

Do you have XP? I have never had troubles with IE until we got a laptop with XP and now when I open up a new page it freezes up half the time and I have to shut down everything. I HATE IT!! So I didn't know if anyone else has these problems or if it is just me.

I run Vista. I've never had a problem until the other night. I don't like the fact that it won't open a "words" document but I'm finally get used to it. I used Mozilla on my old computer.

I have Windows Vista, just got it about 2 months ago. I had XP and was having major problems, but I had it for 3 years and I think my computer was just getting tired.

Cute card Bar. I so need some ice cream right now but it'll melt before I get it into the bowl. It's so freakin hot today.
Wasn't that match too funny last night. I read it about 11:00pm last night.

My new laptop has Vista on it and I hate Vista. I'm an XP person, and have it on our main computer. My DS says I can't blame Vista for everything, but dog gone it, I've had more problems with this new operating system than with the XP on our main computer and it's 8ys old. No hop problems on that one. Have I said how much I hate Vista?
