TLC229 Faux Grid Card {7/13/09}
Here is a fun and quick way to add interest to any stamped images. It can be a way to create a focal piece or a unique background. I was reminded of this technique after seeing Dawn Griffith's post on her blog. Dawn has done a video tutorial on this technique, so if you are a visual learner, you may want to check her tutorial HERE.
So let's begin - for this project, you will need:
cardstock
stamps
ruler
pen
(not required, but very handy - a piece of grid paper to work on)
1. Stamp your images in various random locations on your cardstock
2. Draw lines with a pen at equal intervals across your page, skipping over those images you have stamped. This is where the grid paper comes in handy. If you place your stamped cardstock onto a piece of grid paper, it makes it easier to measure and draw your lines.
3. Turn your cardstock 90 degrees and draw lines with a pen at equal intervals, creating a grid which your images seem to float upon.
4. For interest, color a few of your squares in colors that coordinate with the rest of your project.
To view my sample card for this project, CLICK HERE.
To view all the projects using the Faux Grid technique, CLICK HERE.
Be sure to add the keyword TLC229 (no spaces) when you upload your cards to the gallery.

I'm first? How did that happen?
Technique looks interesting, will have to see if I have time to give it a try later this morning.

This is such a fun technique that I did for the first time last week when DawnL challenged our CCEE group to use it. I won't upload it to today's gallery since it's not a new creation, but I thought I'd share the link in case anyone is interested in looking.

I hope I get a chance to play tonight!

I really enjoyed doing this for another challenge last week, so more than happy to try it again. But hmmm - should I have done the housework first? Think I''d better go and make a start on it, at least.

Is it noon yet???????
I have been busy stamping the morning away.... I needed some birthday cards for a couple of friends so I took the Technique Challenge over here on the card side this morning. It was really fun and easy to do. I think it would make a great background idea for scrapbook LO's.
Here is a peek at what I have been doing this morning..... Friendly Birthday

One of the girls cards caught my eye in the recent posts! Love the look and the whole gallery is looking wonderful! Lots of great variations!
Your instructions are super...Hoping to try it myself over the next couple days...
(ah these great summer days with kids home and weeds to pull, unpacking from camping trips etc...all fun and fabulous but certainly cuts into a girls stampin' time!)

This is the card I'd originally intended making when I first read about this technique last week. Thanks, Lynn, because without the challenge today it would probably still just be on my to-do list.
