My Favorite Challenge/Sketch Challenge and Chatter Thread - Week 7 (7/09/09)
Hello, MFT fans! Can you believe it's WEEK SEVEN of the MFT My Favorite Challenge and Chatter Thread?!? We hope you're having as much fun as we are!
You have a week to complete this week's challenge, plus you get to chat it up with all your MFT friends! And the bonus is that you have a chance to win MFT PRIZES!
Fun, I know!!
Just to review, here are the challenge details:
*A new My Favorite Challenge and Chatter thread is started every Thursday
*Complete the My Favorite Challenge by Wednesday at 10:00 AM
*ONE winner will be awarded $10 in MFT Money each week (not good on bubble bin sets)
*This will NOT be a random draw
*The winner will be chosen by Joanne, Christina OR the guest judge of their choice
*The winner for the week will be posted after the challenge is posted the following Thursday
Ready? Here's your Week 7 Challenge!
This week, the My Favorite Challenge has a Child Theme! Make something geared toward kids! Here are some suggestions for MFT sets you could use:
Monsters Ink
Isabelle Paper Dolls
Ben Paper Dolls
Nite Nite Ellie
Cuddle Up Carter
Hooga Booga
Just to name a few!
Joanne and I have found a couple inspiration pieces to get you started. Use them to get your theme, colors, layout -- whatever!
Mermaid Inspiration Piece
Monsters Inspiration Piece
For my sample, I took my inspiration from the monster bedding and made a two-sided door hanger with chipboard coasters and the MFT sets Monsters Ink and Bling 'Bet. You'll know whether your little one is in or out of his room when you look at this sign! Joanne created an adorable card with Hooga Booga -- who could be afraid of that sweet monster?!
DON'T FORGET: Please do NOT "double dip" for the MFT challenges. Since the My Favorite Challenge and the MFT Sketch Challenge have prize winners, Here is the general rule of thumb:
If you can win something tangible, then your entry needs to be ONLY for that challenge. So, if you want to participate in the SCS color challenge and then use the MFT sketch? That is totally fine, since you can only win something for the MFT sketch. If you do the My Favorite Challenge, it can't be combined with the MFT sketch challenge or the One Click Challenge since they all have a prize.
Your keyword for this week is: MFTMFC7
Your deadline is Wednesday, July 15 at 10:00 AM EST
Winner will be announced on July 16
If you have any questions, please post them here and someone will help you!
MFTMFC7 Gallery
I've attached my sample and Joanne's sample, too!
We can't wait to see YOUR child-themed projects!

The weekly MFT sketches are always so fun and inspiring for cardmaking, but I think they make perfect scrapbook sketches as well! I am so excited to be part of the sketch challenges and I hope to get more of you scrapbooking! Once a month (on the second Thursday of the month) I will be showing you a layout made with the sketch of the week and hope that you will play along with me! This is just another fun way you can use the sketch provided by Cindy and Frances.
As always, the prize for the sketch challenge is a random draw and you may enter as many designs with the sketch keyword as you would like. We encourage you to complete the sketch both for a card AND a scrapbook page. ONE person (who has used the sketch for a card OR scrapbook page) will win a $5 MFT code for the week and will be chosen randomly. Cindy or Frances will post the winner the following Thursday.
Please feel free to ask ANY questions you may have! We are all here to learn and have fun together and I would love to help you use MFT on your scrapbook pages!
Now for my layout made from this weeks MFT sketch!! This sketch lends itself perfectly to scrapbooking. I stayed pretty much true to the sketch but feel free to shake it up a little if you want. For example, you could use two photos, embellishments where the circle is with your title on top or bottom of the pictures. Just have fun!

I'm a little confused on the dates of this challenge? Wed. (yesterday was not July 9, today is and it's Thursday). Do we have until next Wed. to complete the challenge? just want to make sure I've got it all down.

thanks, you are such a supportive person. I can't show my gallery to my buddies at work as it might ruin the surprise but I've gotten so much postive feedback I can't wait to fill it up and give it to Jill. Her birthday's the 20th so I don't have to wait much longer.

Both cute are cards, that little mermaid is especially precious. Every time i see the WTG sunbathing I wonder where she is. There's no rain in that pic, is there life without rain somewhere? Someone please tell me where that is cause I'm gonna pack up and head that direction.

Congratulations to both Chris and Bonnie! I loved both of your projects! I hope you will both save a little time this weekend for this months Ambassador Challenge. I have a fun theme for you all and you could win $15.00 in MFT Stampin' Bucks! I'll be posting the challenge first thing on Saturday!
It is cold wet and rainy here today! Not a fun day for any outside activities but a perfect day to stay inside and stamp!

RAIN! Ugh! Yesterday there was actually a glimmer of sun here and everyone had to go out at lunch just to feel it. One person told me that in NJ a new record was set for most rain in the month of June.
Can't wait to see your challenge. don't make it hard.

Yay!! Thanks for answering. I got a spiffy little coupon that I wanted to use--I'm hopeful I'll have good cause mid month.
Since I buy so much MFT when it comes out, I wonder if there will be anything MFT for me to buy at CHA. Oh, I know! Those buttons!!
