Transparency Tubes for M & Ms

Can someone give me suggestions on how to attached the punch outs on the end of these tubes?

These were created by "saveacon". She has requested no email so I cannot contact her

I bet there's some kind of "cap" on the top and bottom that the paper topper is attached to.

If you were going to make your own tubes from transparency sheets, you could cut a circle of cardstock about twice as big as the opening on the end of your tube, trace the tube in the center of the circle, cut in from the edge to the line you've traced all around the circle (so you make a kind of flowery looking circle), and fold those tabs up. Then you'd have a sort of cap you could slide into the end of the tube and a surface to adhere the punch outs on the ends. You'd have to use some sort of adhesive on the bottom "cap", because the weight of the M&M's would almost certainly push it out.

Definately easier and quicker to find tubes that have little plastic caps for the ends!

Really cute idea! Would have made a cute end of the year treat for the kids (but today is the last day of school for my DD) -- something like "seeds for summer fun" -- blue for pool water, yellow for sun, red for sunburns . . .

If your looking for tubes - www.therubbercafe.com has some different shaped tubes. I've used them in the Test Tube Holders I created.

This looks like fun! I recently noticed that even AC Moore is selling single colored packs of M&Ms in the bridal section.

How long has that been going on? I thought you had to special order them...

While following a link I stumbled upon an idea at Amazing Paper Grace that looks fun & easy. She used empty ribbon spools with one of the cardboard ends torn off and transparency.

I can't post the link because I haven't posted in the forums 3 times yet, but you can find it in Becca's archives on Nov 6, 2008. It's called Spool Cap Goodie Holder.

I've seen where they use the empty remains of ribbon spools, take one side off, make a transparent tube to fit the ribbon spool. The empty ribbon spool you can decorate and it'll make a top or bottom.
