My Favorite Challenge/Sketch Challenge and Chatter Thread- Week Four (6/18/09)
It's WEEK FOUR of the MFT My Favorite Challenge and Chatter Thread!!
You'll have an entire week to complete the challenges and chat it up with your fellow MFT Junkies! And the best part is that you have a chance to win MFT PRIZES!
Sound good?
Just to review, here are the challenge details:
*A new My Favorite Challenge and Chatter thread is started every Thursday
*Complete the My Favorite Challenge by Wednesday at 10:00 AM
*ONE winner will be awarded $10 in MFT Money each week (not good on bubble bin sets)
*This will NOT be a random draw
*The winner will be chosen by Joanne, Christina OR the guest judge of their choice
*The winner for the week will be posted after the challenge is posted the following Thursday
Ready to play?
This week, your My Favorite Challenge is to make a gift card holder! Christina and I both made Pop Up Gift Card holders, you can find a link to instructions on this SCS Try A New Technique thread, or you can try Jessie's fabulous tutorial from the How'd They Do That section here on the MFT Member Company Forum!
Pop Up Gift Card on SCS - Try a New Technique Forum
Jessie's How'd They Do That Gift Card Holder
IMPORTANT: Please do NOT "double dip" for the MFT challenges. Since the My Favorite Challenge and the MFT Sketch Challenge have prize winners, Here is the general rule of thumb:
If you can win something tangible, then your entry needs to be ONLY for that challenge. So, if you want to participate in the SCS color challenge and then use the MFT sketch? That is totally fine, since you can only win something for the MFT sketch. If you do the My Favorite Challenge, it can't be combined with the MFT sketch challenge or the One Click Challenge since they all have a prize.
Your keyword for this week is: MFTMFC4
Your deadline is Wednesday, June 24 at 10:00 AM EST
Winner will be announced on June 25th
If you have any questions, please post them here and someone will help you!
Here is my sample its a " Mani Pedi Popup Gift Card." and Christina's fabulously masculine "Father's Day" sample, too!
MFTMFC4 Gallery
We can't wait to see all of your gift card holders!

Wow, what a great project. She said it took three hours as if that was a lot of time but I think it looks like it would have taken longer.

cutie patootie. I love that background paper.
I am always jealous that people can get these things done so quick. I'm just peeking in at work wishing I could be stamping. I guess I should be grateful I have work and can sneak a peak while here.

Hi guys! Just checking in! There have been some fab cards posted today! I need to go back and comment when I get a minute tonight!
Hey, if anyone has any tried and true radish recipes, please send them along! I got a bunch in with my CSA bounty today, and I don't know that I've ever eaten a radish. I have no idea what to do with them! (and I pretty much hate lettuce salads, so just tossing them in a salad isn't an option.)
Off to the craft lair!

HI ladies,
Sorry I'm checkin in a little late today - work is interfering with my stamping life, then I get home to find out I can't get connected (helps to have EVERYTHING plugged in - took me 45 minutes to figure that out LOL).
Thanks for the congrats on the win! I'm looking forward to this week's challenges!

Hi girlies!! I love the samples. I just had a looooooong day at work, so I'm going to chill for the rest of the evening. I will be participating (hopefully) this weekend! My inlaws are planning on coming into town--though that could change at any moment.
Congrats to all the winners!!
Jody, I'm glad you're feeling better. Think of me as I venture out tomorrow for you know what!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! {{I'm not excited at all!}}

We got radishes and turnip in our CSA pickup today too. I diced mine into teeny pieces and tucked it in a salad. Sorry I'm not much help
I have to say, my stomach HURTS right now I'm SO FULL OF LETTUCE!!
And I have another whole head of lettuce to wash tomorrow.
Any good turnip recipes Kathy? I figured you'd be my go to girl as to what to do with those babies...

Thanks Megan! I need to check them out. I'm afraid I don't have any good non-vegan sites. I've been staying away from the strictly vegetarian sites, because they are full of cheese and eggs, and I don't know good ways to mod these without using processed foods...

Joanne, I made THIS for dinner tonight (slightly modified to add more garlic and less oil and some chili flakes) and it was FABULOUS! I know I say this every night, but it was one of the yummiest things I've ever eaten. I am getting impressed that I am actually starting to be able to cook!
Turnips I like roasted with just a touch of olive oil or mashed (like taters). I think that's the only way I've ever had them, but they're delicious both these ways.

I meant to add... last week, my CSA pickup was 7 different kinds of greens. That's it. This week we were supposed to get peas and summer squash. I picked it up and it was 3 lettuces, spinach, chard, beet green and radishes. I LOVE greens, but I'm a little greened out (especially with DH out of town).

Oops. I lied. There is one site -- a blog -- that focuses on veggie unprocessed cooking, though she also does a lot of vegan cooking:
http://www.101cookbooks.com/
Her stuff always looks AMAZING.
