What a neat challenge idea!! Guess what color my creation will be, LOL!!!
I went over to the hospital early this morning then came back to take care of some much needed yard work. So ... I should have time to get my creation made and photographed and if need be, upload while sitting at the hospital later! (DH is much the same ... the C-diff infection just does NOT want to let up ... they're making a change to his medication and maybe that will help ... we'll see!)
Thanks for the great fun Pammyjo ... this is a very INTERESTING approach to a challenge!! Anxious to see what everyone does! Should be fun!!!

This is tough, Pammyjo! A little "reflection" time for all of us today! Let's see.....I already drown everything in glitter, so we don't need to explore that avenue of my personality.............gonna have to get thinking! Thanks, for a great challenge, my friend!

Just me again! Yesterday I had this image from the Childhood Images booklet in my mind as I mulled over Pammyjo's clues...just had to make it this morning to get my "self-reflection" juices going!

I saw your clues late last night Pammy Jo and had a feeling that this would be it. I believe I know just the right image that I will be using for this challenge. Hope to get it going soon. Still trying to catch up on other stuff to do.
Thanks again,

Darlene, must be tough on you going back and forth. Mark must be a very special person and I am sure he appreciates all you do for him.
I keep praying that things will turn around for him and he gets back to better health. Hang in there my friend.

Thanks for the concern Kim! The C-diff hasn't improved much yet but he seemed to be feeling a little better today and didn't have his normal dinnertime nausea!
As for me, I'm okey dokey!! I just got home from visiting with him (8:15 pm) and I'll be sure to get my rest tonight because tomorrow I need to see him first then head to my dentist in PA. ... lunch with my Mom & a friend ... then back to the hospital. I'll be tired by this time tomorrow evening. But really, I get plenty to eat and rest too ... so I'm doing just fine. As far as us being a good team ... you've definately got that right. Mark is my 3rd husband and I always joke and say it took me 40 years to finally find the "right" one! He's a gem and I love him dearly! I do nothing for him that he wouldn't do in return for me! He is "one of a kind" and I'm glad he's mine!!
Thanks for your concern! I continue to keep you in my prayers also. Hope today was a "good" day! Can't wait to see what you create ... isn't this a FUN challenge!! That Pammyjo ... she's so clever and always thinking!!!

I didn't realize what you had gone through PammyJo. I had made that decision myself and then at the last minute chose a 2nd lumpectomy and radiation....either way depressing and stressful! I am ready finish up and move on. I just focus on the positives now and try to have a sense of humor...after two lumpectomys on one side...you may now call me "One-hung-low" LOL ....Hugs
And yes Darlene, this is a fun challenge and I will get to work tomorrow!
Thank you for the prayers!

Okay, I think these qualify for "It's all about me"; this is a new release Crafty Secrets CHA stamp set called "Mouse Party". I think it qualifies because I'm sort of a PARTY girl and I'm tiny (4'11"), like these mice!
IT COUNTS, RIGHT? TEE HEE! :P
AWESOME CHALLENGE, GIRLIES!

Where is everyone today??? I feel so lonely! Well, here's my thing--can't call it a card. My daughter was working on her scrapbook yesterday & thought I should do more of a scrapbook page approach for this one. I'm afraid I got a little nuts with this one, but my girls kept egging me on--then told me to STOP!
So, a little about me.....I love being a mother, I'm a homebody--LOVE being there! Love gardening, especially my roses! I have over 150 English roses--the old-fashioned, cabbagey, really amazing smelling ones--LOVE them! I love vintage everything. I'm a very religious girl and have a lot of faith--very important in my life. Love to cook and have people over for dinner or just to get together & play games. I love sunsets--my family & I always make a big deal about them--you'd think they were rare! Love books--especially the classics, Austen, Dickens, etc. I love Autumn! My "day job"--I'm a naturalist at the park here in Salinas/Monterey area. School classes go there for field trips & I take them on a hike, teach them about the plants, animals & Indians that used to live here. Love this job more every year! It really taught me to notice things around me & to love this beautiful place I live in. Sometimes I take it "on the road" and go to the schools to do my thing with a car full of freeze-dried animals. Sound fun? My kids get a little freaked out & don't like to look in the back of the car--they say the animals are staring at them! Oh! And I almost forgot--I LOVE to make cards, etc. with CRAFTY SECRETS!!!
Well, that's me in a nutshell...thanks for this great chance to do a little introspection, Pammyjo! Can't wait to learn more about the rest of you!
P.S. Thanks to you, Pammyjo & Kim, I stopped putting off my mammogram, and have an appointment tomorrow--keep your fingers crossed for me, please!

I'm here lying in bed with my laptop!
I love your card Julie! How fun seeing what everyone is interested in. My 11 year old daughter would just love you. She loves nature centers and hiking and all the creepy crawly things!
I didn't know you are near Monterey, it's so beautiful there The roses are awesome as well.
Good luck with the mammo...it's sooo important!

Thanks, Kim! I know it's important, I'm just really good at procrastination & denial. It's really terrible because my Mom's a breast cancer survivor--16 years! I should be more diligent. I'm fairly good with doctor exams though. Need to get better at this stuff!
How are you feeling today?

Great decision! smash those babies! take a few aspirins before you go.
Just for a little note to everyone, I never felt a lump in my breast, it was the mammo that picked up my DCIS cancer. So don't WAIT!

Wow Julie, I loved your self portrait and so fun getting to know you better. Your freeze dried animals made me laugh......I can picture it perfectly...hope you have tinted windows.
Oh...you need to put CSSC73 in your keywords
Can you believe it but I'm trying to conserve my time on the internet.
We can only get wireless internet connection here and it was costing me $85.00/mo
So I tried to save a few bucks and go to a less GB usage for each month.
I've almost used up our allotment until the 19th when it turns over. Of coarse the kids have sucked it dry also.......videos/u tube etc. really suck up the GB.
So I may be MIA because email comes first...........
arghhhh

Here's mine: http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/ga...&ppuser=161466 I've so enjoyed reading this forum in this challenge and getting to know everyone better. Now I'm off to check out the gallery and all your wonderful creations.
P.S. Even though I HATE mammograms, I also have one done every year. I just had my yearly mammogram done a couple of week's ago. It was very painful, as always, but all is well. I just wish they'd invent something a little less painful...like a laser beam you just move around the boob with. A man must have invented the mammogram machine! LOL!

Boy I totally agree with this statement!!! Not the most pleasant of tests but if we can detect any problems in the early states, it will save us even more pain later! I religiously get my mammo, pap smear and now bone density tests. With DH's health issues, I don't have time to be sick, LOL!!

Thank-you, wise women! You're inspiring me to be much better! I'm off to do that in an hour, and I'm gearing up mentally! I agree with your assessment, Amy! I once heard a female comedian talking about mammograms years ago--can't remember who it was, and called them "mammy mashers"--that's what I've called it every since--that's what's written on my calendar for today!

Great challenge idea Pammyjo! I have always thought I'd have fit in better in the 50's. I love to cook, enjoy staying home and prefer a calm quiet life. I chose this adorable print as it is who I aspire to be. I also used music for my flowers as I have played piano for 30 years and play each Sunday with our praise band. I love music almost as much as I love playing with paper and ink.

Here's my take on this week's challenge:
http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/ga...0&ppuser=82983
My card is based on my first (and almost favorite) Crafty Secrets stamp set. I bought it because I loved the vintage sewing images. I have a BS in Clothing and Textiles. I also come from a long line of talented seamstresses. My college disertation was on the history of the corset. The dress form image reminds me of a corset. Thanks for the fun challenge Pammyjo!
FYI - I had my first mammogram last week. I'm still awaiting the results! The tech was very patient and explained everything. It was a good experience for me. :0

Love learning this about you! How interesting--and talented you are!
Thanks for sharing about your mammogram--mine was this morning, and wasn't as bad as I remembered from ??years ago--new digital equipment--didn't need to get as squeezy--still a bit uncomfortable, but not as bad. You will be FINE!

Your card is AWESOME and it's wonderful to have a little insite into who you are!! Now ... I might be the only one who doesn't know this ... but, what is your first name??? Somewhere along the line I have missed that and I like to address people by their first name! I know this is a silly question but I guess that's just a little bit more about me that you now know, LOL!! SILLY ME!!

Well, I've certainly fit in with this theme, whining incessantly about my move!! We are here! The house is big, but not very nice-it has been fiddled with and badly fixed by who knows how many people for who knows how many years. It's just perfect for us to spread out in and get the lay of the land, though, I think we can be happy here!
I am SLOWLY unpacking! I am so drowsy all the time. CO is an hour earlier then OK, I do not know if this accounts for my unreasonable sleepiness or if it's just the move in general. I don't mind unpacking. This is a big house, so I know I can find a place for everything, I just have to figure out where I want it, then go clean that closet, shelf or whatever, and put it away.
I have not started on my stamp room yet, I'm just too tired by the time I do things for the rest of the house. My new stamp room is about five times as big as the space I had in OK! It has brand new carpet, but it's very dark. It has dark paneling, which I am going to see if we can paint. I despise paneling and would happily wring the neck of whoever invented it. What were they thinking? (This is not real paneling, which can be beautiful. This is the same stuff you see in trailers. It's awful.)
I'll go back and read the thread now and see what you girls have been up to! Hopefully I will be able to play this great challenge, it's only Friday, I can dream, can't I?

I guess I need to schedule a mammogram....I'm 45 and have never had one. I'm TERRIBLE about check-ups. I frequently go five or six years between PAPs. I just hate all that stuff!!
