There is a Hobby Lobby by Merle Hay Mall. A Michael's on 22nd Street (I think). There is a nice store in Ankeny, I can't think of the name of it right now.
As someone else posted there is an Archivers at Jordan Creek Mall along with Michaels and Hobby Lobby. In Valley Junction (West Des Moines) is Heirlooms by Design at 213 Fifth Street. They have a wonderful selection of stamps, papers, embellishments, tools, inks, etc. and a whole room of Lasting Impressions stencils and papers. Memory Bound is in Ankeny, just North of DM at 641 N Ankeny Blvd. Welcome to Iowa, have fun and happy shopping!
I would also chime in that I think either Archivers or Heirlooms are your best bets. Heirlooms is just a local store that is really cool you can spend a lot of time in there. The extra bonus is its in valley junction which is just a neat little street of a variety of shops! Have fun and enjoy our city!
It is called Memory Bound Scrapbooks and it is wonderful. I live in OKLA, but my inlaws live there, and when we go to see them, I always make a visit there and spend 150-200 easy.
I vote for seeing Heirlooms for certain, I'm a big fan. They've been in business for many years, so you know they are good about carrying things people want.
Thanks! I have an Archiver's, Hobby Lobby, Michaels, and Joann where I live---I should have mentioned that. I am looking more for the independent places.
I am looking forward to checking out these places. Thanks for the tips!
If you are limited in stops, visit the Valley Junction store and Memory Bound in Ankeny. I'm originally from there, and have to make the rounds when I go home for a visit...both are great stores with a variety of selection. Memory Bound has a website and sends coupons every now and then, so you might sign up before you go ... just in case!
