Question What's the purpose of an ink-refresher???

Hi All! I'm new to stamping and I'm sorry if this is a dumb question. I was reading the tips to save $$$ thread and was wondering what the purpose is of an ink refresher?

TIA!

Do you mean a re-inker?

When your ink dries out, you can spritz it on your pad or pen and it will "bring it back to life". I use one by "Ranger" and love it!

I use mine in my water based markers, too. Pull out the plug (or one end of the nibs if it's a dual tip) add a few drops w/ an eyedropper and put the plug/nib back in. It adds new life to your marker w/o diluting the color.

Can you possibly give me a link to one...this is the first that I have ever heard of such a thing. I am very interested. Thank you in advance.

Have happy stamping days ahead!

The theory is that quite often a pad is dried out because the water content has evaporated some, not that the ink itself has been used up. Refreshers (Like Ranger's Perfect Refresh) re-hydrate rather than re-ink. It works better on dye rather than pigment pads.

I found some at AC Moore last week. Bought it but haven't tried it yet.

Here's a link, but I know it's available many LSS that carry Tim Holtz/Ranger products. You can also find it online at Ritz or Wolf Camera.

I have used mine a few times and it is great, except on the sharpie marker (blk) -It just turned purple. I don't think you can use it too much though, eventually you need the re-inker.
