WT218 - Tins! (05/14/09)
Good morning! I thought we'd move on from the basic cardstock challenges and create something 3D today. The challenge is to find Ways to Use tins. I love altering tins but often get stuck in the card rut. I thought if I could use a challenge to create something else, you might as well! Whether you make a container for storage, a gift item, or even a pencil holder...get creative and have fun with it. If you don't think you have any tins...check your recycling box. While today's design doesn't use one, one of my favorite tins to rescue is those flavored coffee tins.
Please remember to put WT218 in your keywords section and post a link back here so that we can all see your design! Please link new work to this challenge. We want to get you creating today!

Have a great day and happy creating!

Francie, go look in your pantry or even toiletries. You'd be surprised at what you'd find there.

Oh - I'm pretty sure I have something downstairs. Not big into altered items but always game to try. Thanks, Julia.

Ooh, I've got just the thing for this challenge! I've had a tin sitting here for a week at least, with a project in mind, but sadly haven't gotten to it yet. Thanks!

I LOVE decorating Prima Tins!!! Markie started doing it a while back, and then I started only buying Primas in tins! That kid is super smart when it comes to crafting!

Well, I found a tin that I had coloured the lid of all of 4 years ago possibly. At least 3...I just needed to tone it down to match the paper I chose to use.

This is just the motivation I need! I have been saving flavored coffee tins for months and have not done anything with them yet! I plan on using them at Christmas, filled w/ fudge made by DH...so I better get started!

Freah Strawberries!
Here's mine! Thanks for this terrific challenge. I can really use this tin and I probably wouldn't have made it for myself if not for these great examples.

Julia, thanks for the push. I have had this tin on my desk for a long time. I use it to keep my quilled flower in. But now it looks so much prettier.
