Please help

DH surprised me yesterday by converting a closet into a stamping area. I know it is a closet but all I had before was a folding table and containers. What I need is something to hold all my stamp pad. The turning container is too hard to use in a small space. I am trying to find something I can hang on the wall to get them off the shelf. The pads just don't stack very well.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Look for a wooden cassette-tape holder. You can paint it to match your decor, add some cool rub-ons or stamping, and mount it on the wall!

This is what I'm planning on getting. I'm going to get both a full size and the mini which will hold 12 (for my incolors and stuff). I've read threads from people who really like them and they seem affordable to me (although my DBF offered to buy them for me, he's the best...and can't stand a messy room, even if it is mine, hahaha). They will hang on the wall and come in other colors. Have fun! Enjoy your new "room"

You can also get the wooden cassette holders from places like Salvation Army (where I got mine for a few bucks) or Goodwill.

SUInk has a great assortment of stamp pad holders. The one I have holds 75 ink pads, markers and ink refills, it is awesome. Check out the web site.

I just got one for the wall from ebay, made in Canada. My friend and I submitted a best offer and it was accepted. Because of the combined shipping we paid almost half of what it was listed for and hold 75 ink pads. I love it!

I recently had to move out of my craftroom for my granddaughter and so moved from my wall mounted holders (made by hubby) to photo boxes. I stand them on end and move the lid to the back. If I want to transport them back to storage, I just add the lid and rubber band to hold shut. Not always the fastest solution for taking them out and putting them back in any order but it works for now.

I still have the 3 wooden cassette boxes, but tossed those liners years ago. What was I thinking?! Right now, they are perfect for corralling socks

One idea I saw, was the Ikea CD holders. It looks like little wire thingys sticking out, but held those ink pads well and were wall mounted. They are only as deep as the ink pad itself and are not expensive, either. Sounds great for a small place! I love Ikea's notion: go up. We usually try to cover all our tables and surfaces but that just leaves us less room to work. Remembering about walls sounds simple, but it really helps to use them.

Hmmm...I got a cassette holder from someone and it DIDN'T work. My SU pads would not stay in because the slots are not deep enough (i.e. the ink pads stick out too far)

If it is in a closet, is there still the rod that you could hang one of those shoe holders (the kind where the box/shoes sit in horizontally similar to this contraption) and use a couple of the pockets for stamp pads? I'm thinking along the lines of stacking a couple of pads together. I don't know how well it will work for stamp pads.... might work better for something other than stamp pads. Anyway, it's another option.

Check out www.organizemore.com; they have a light weight, perfect size unit that holds 48 Stampin Up stamp pads and already has hangers to be hung on the wall. They also just came out with one that holds 24 stamp pads (perfect for in color and neutrals). I have the 48 size and it has been fabulous. It is cheaper than the revolving one in the Stampin Up catalog, too.

I second the recommendation for organizemore.com. I have 5 of their organizers already on the walls in my craft room and just ordered a Mini Ink Pad holder and another Cubbie Organizer. (I didn't account for room to grow when I placed my first order.) I promise you won't be disappointed with these organizers.

Go for cassette holders or ink pad holders from one of the on-line companies.

The SU ink pad caddies stink. Way too expensive for the quality and then it doesn't turn easily so I spent another $6 to get a Wilton lazy susan to set it on. ANd it is very unstable.

It does have one plus, it has a very small foot print, so it is good if you need compact storage.

I don't recommend it for other brands of inkpads they don't fit well at all.

I use an old cassette holder, too. The one I have doesn't have shelves all the way across, just little nubs which are too far apart. So I cut thin pieces of cardboard to make shelves and now the pads fit perfectly. I have attached a picture so you can see what I'm talking about. I still have 2 of these if anyone wants to pay the postage for them.

I use a wooden cassette holder from salvation army that I've had for about 5 years -- I've been using it to store all my non-SU pads (versacolor, brilliance, etc.) because they fit really well. After seeing Dena's pic above though, I went and tried sliding in some SU pads and they fit better than I thought! They stick out, but they definitely aren't going to fall out -- so thanks for the inspiration, Dena!
Oh, and for another option, try the Ink Pad Palace (google it) -- it's a cardboard holder you fold up yourself, and it's surprisingly sturdy. And pretty cheap. And stampable.

The marker and paper units were from Mike Wiggins at orgaizemore.com. He is the best to work with tell him I sent you if you want....I don't get a penny, just love his stuff.

I use clear shoeboxes turned on their sides, and then I put the lid under the shoe box to stabilize it. One shoe box, from the dollar store, perfectly holds three rows left to right and nine rows down, or do fewer rows down and add smaller stamp pads or the boxes of mini-stamps on top.

Four weeks ago you posted a pic of your ink storage and offered a spare to someone who wanted to pay postage. Does it dissemble to mail flat? I may be interested if it does. DH hasn't made me one yet. Time just hasn't allowed for it.

I was also taken by your name. One doesn't hear it very often. Close family calls me Dena as well - a gift from my grandmother from where I get my full name as well.
