Default TLC214 Never Ending Card {3/30/09}

Hi Technique lovers...today will be never ending. HA! I know some Mondays feel that way, but what I mean is that for today's technique we'll be making Never Ending Cards.

These are fun, interactive cards that will amaze not only you (trust me, they really ARE easy once you see the video that Dawn Griffith has posted on YouTube), but they will WOW the person receiving them even more. I started to do a pictorial on this technique, but Dawn's video really does an excellent job of outlining the steps, and if you are a visual learner, like me, you will find the video very helpful.

These cards make a unique gift, one which kids especially love! I hope that you will give it a try.

View Dawn's Video HERE.
To view all 4 views of my card, click HERE.
To view all the imaginative creations using this technique, click HERE

As always, don't forget to use the keyword TLC214 (no spaces) when you upload your projects.

HINT FOR NEXT WEEK: It's bloomin' wonderful! No special supplies are needed.

Good morning!

I might give this a try today. Looks like a real challenge. But I love all Darn's tutorials, they are easy to understand when you are visual learner. Today is my 1st card teaching class, so I will see if I have time and play. If not, I'll check out the rest of your cards. Thanks!

I guessed that was what today's challenge would be. I just love these, but my brain is too fuzzy today to work out a good design. Hope I'll get to make one later on in the week.
I made one a couple of years ago for my brother, who did design in college, as I was sure he'd work out the folding aspect. To my surprise, he said he almost didn't.

Looks like fun. Also looks like this is a card that doesn't require much embellishment - I mean... where would you put it?

I was able to find a couple of places for some bling, but you have to work the card to make sure that it will "flip" without interference from the embellishments.

Nope, not doing this one. I was good until 4 minutes in when you had to flip the middle up but there was adhesive there, just like she told us to do on the corners and I couldn't fold it up without either ripping off the adhesive or tearing the card. Very frustrating.

Wow, this is so neat! When I looked at Lynn's card I thought, "oh, this looks hard an time consuming". Then I watched the video and thought "well, that's not so bad after all".
Thanks Lynn and Dawn!

I've always wanted to try to figure one of these out. Thanks for the great link for the instructions - and yes, visual is a really good thing.

Oh! Oh! I love these!

I made my first this past Valentine's Day for DD's school party. Instead of making them into normal cards, the kids turned them into NEVER-ENDING AUTOGRAPH CARDS. Each kid and teacher took a square or rectangle and had a blast signing each other's cards. FUN!

OMGosh! Lunchables put mini versions of these in their products last Fall and my DS's heart was broken when his wore out! What perfect timing! His birthday is this weekend.

The tutorial was awesome. Really does show how EASY this card will be to make! Thank you!

Ok, I had the same problem, lol! BUT what I did, was go to her site, and she has some pictures linked there to her webshots photo album and you can tell exactly where to put the adhesive, that helped me. I am in the process of deciding how to stamp it now, lol.

No, this didn't help me either. It's the folding that I'm having trouble with. My adhesive is in the right place and all is lined up. It's getting that cross looking thing where I'm losing it and after wasting 4 pieces of paper, it's time to stop. I don't even know why I bothered in the first place. This is the only challenge that I don't like because I just don't get half of this stuff and I should have known better and saved myself the aggravation, and what's worse, is that it's only 8:30 in the morning and I've been at this since 7 a.m. I really could kick myself for wasting so much time, energy and paper.

I watched the video, and even though I don't have sound on my computer, it was really nice that Dawn puts words on the screen as well! So I was able to follow and understand. Thanks Dawn!
