Photo Challenge #28 ~ Fill the Frame {3-29-09}
Howdy there everyone! This week's challenge is to fill the frame! That means you need to find one thing to focus on and let it fill up your whole viewfinder or screen, leaving little to no empty or negative space in your photo. You might go in search of something really big or you could zoom in on something tiny. The choice is yours, just make it take up all the space and don't let it share the stage with anything else! Have fun!
Photo Challenge Rules:
~ Have FUN with this! There are no right or wrong photos.
~ Take as many pics as you want, share the few you like best.
~ Please share only current photos, taken after the challenge was issued.
~ We CANNOT upload our photos to the SCS galleries. You may upload them as an attachment or host them from your blog or any online photo hosting site. Just provide the direct link to the photo in your post and also make sure that it is not from a password protected album.
~ Just a reminder that we are a family-friendly site if you are sending others off this site to view photos in an album hosted elsewhere.
~ Please jump in and join us in the photo challenges at anytime!
~ Again - HAVE FUN!
In my first photo I filled the frame with the blooming tree we had out front. As of the windy storm that hit last night, it has no more blooms and I'm sad about that. Next is a wall made out of marbles from the local children's museum. Very cool to touch but very noisy!

Fun challenge Angie! Love your photos too! My kids would love that marble wall, and would want to make their walls in their rooms into that.
Here are some I've taken already. I'll get my camera out this week and do more.

Here are mine!! It's kind of hard to do it without framing the shot, you know? Well, that's what challenges are for!! Thanks, Angie!

I've been playing today! Angie these challenges are so much fun and they sure make us think out of the norm for photos. Thanks once again for the challenge!
For the white Azalea and pink Orchids I used the macro setting (I think that's what the flower icon is) and got in real close and I like the results!
The cards I just scattered on the table making sure they overlapped each other so no table top wouldn't show...I love how Just Cards magazine does that and even got one of mine on their front cover a couple months ago...this photo is better...their ALL MINE!
The Azalea is a shower prize I won yesterday and my birthday is this week so my daughter thought she'd buy me the Orchid that won't die a quick as fresh flowers...so she thinks!

Angie: I just found these challenges & I'm so excited. They are wonderful. I have been enjoying checking them out and there are some wonderful Pictures to enjoy!
Your marble wall is cool, too, but oh, do I ever love that tree. Awesome. Looking at it almost makes me dizzy.
Lisa: love your flag and thorns? It sure makes me think of a porkypine!!!
Hannah: Love your rose and that heart/key chain is stunning!
Roxie: Wonderful flowers! Esp. the white ones catch my eye with how very sharp they are. And your cards???!!! Fantastic! The cards are all lovely, but i'm quite taken with the one in the middle, flower in blue vase. Is that the one that made it to mag. cover?
Great job, everyone! I might jump in sometime with some pics. I didn't really see any real rules except pics should be taken for the challenges & these challenge threads are where they are to be posted. I don't have an expensive dslr just a decent P&S with a decent zoom. I just love pictures. TFS!

Great challenge, Angie. All the photos are great. I am still digital camera-less. Will have to drive to the city this week to pick mine up.
Roxie, I absolutely love the azalea........I could easily hang it on my wall and stare at it for a long time!

Not the same one, the magazine card had a chicken on the front!
llrandolph: Thanks for the compliment!
Ina: White is so hard to photograph, I'd either get to dark a color or so white it had no character then I finally got lucky!
It was a fun challenge for sure!

Here is my filled frame photo. I took it while in Paris a couple of weeks ago. I thought this sculpture was really cool!

These two photos were taken at the flower market in Amsterdam. They have the most beautiful flowers in Europe, especially in Holland.

I took this one 2 weeks ago in Berlin. I like to fill my frame with images I can use for backgrounds and borders on my scrapbook pages, so I was getting a shot of the stone sidewalks.
It's not an interesting photo by itself, but it will look lovely tucked among the rest of my photos on a scrapbook page. I took several different ground images to play with on my layouts.

My trees at home are looking like your tree but from Breckenridge CO, I send you this: We get very little snow in Knoxville so we marvel at the stuff when we see it. If the kids don't ski out here they are playing in the snow.

Oh gosh, yes. They are better in Berlin than in the other European cities I've been too, but they are just brutal. Pretty, but brutal.

I just read about the challenges.. what fun!
This is a picture of some seashells along the seashore in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
It was taken on Feb. 7th.. my mom's birthday. She was visiting us because I had surgery back in January. It was her birthday and we made a surprise trip to the beach. It's about 1 1/2+ hrs from where we live in North Carolina.. it was a beautiful day that day and we were so glad that we went.

Took this yesterday on a nature walk with the family. Katie decided she didn't want to go to the top of the hill, so she played with the dandelions while Dad and Bubby went to the top.

Isn't it amazing to think people actually lived in the castle? Your picture is great.

I wish I had a picture of the indoor swimming pool to post, but I didn't take one with my digital, just regular old film, I'll have to wait to see how it comes out when I get them developed! The indoor pool was empty though.

Lisa, lovely photo of your DD.........she sure is absorbed! Ann, that's a beautiful pool.........the water is so clear, it would indeed be lovely to swim there.
Here is my photo for this challenge. We have a small (5 members) camera club at work and one of our group is getting married soon, so we planned a photo time followed by a lunch, but at this time of year it's not too exciting outside and we had just had another snowfall, so we decided to go to a local nursery/garden center. Lots of beautiful flowers to photograph!

I would disagree about the interest in the photo. I enjoyed comparing all the different sizes and margins of the bricks.

American Idol - FILLS THE FRAME
One of the three remaining American Idol contestants, Adam Lambert, is a former student of my son's high school.
Friday he returned with the American Idol producers and their cameramen for a concert to be televised on their show Tuesday night.
I think this photo 'fills the frame' with crazy excitement!
I have tons more pics of Adam on my BLOG today!!!!
Don't forget to watch for our high school on Tuesday night! And remember to VOTE!

Here are some examples of my "fill the frame" work.
The red berries are sand hill plums,,,and they were huge but this is a photo taken with a macro lens, tripod and patience.
the yellow flower just fasinated me with those many many spikes,,,,
the car is so vintage.....and I love the green and black.

Pansy your pictures are great. What macro lens are you using? The pictures turned out so clear.
Pam - Wow, were you down on the field when you took the shot? Great perspective.

All my lenses are Sigma brand...sigma is a well regarded "third party" lens maker. That is to say, I don't have lenses of the same brand as my camera body. I can't afford them!!!!!!! I have a 50mm Sigma macro and a 105mm Sigma macro both lenses with special optics for close up work. They are f2.8 lenses also. Then I have a 28-300mm zoom f 3.5/6.3 and a 50-500mm f4 zoom. they have never let me down. If a photo isn't tack sharp it is my fault not the lens. Thanks for your comment.

Another perspective
Here is my photo of the same band that is in Pam's picture, taken from the stands. I didn't get down on the field for the American Idol concert like Pam did, but I did get to meet Adam Lambert later in the day when he visited the base theater at MCAS Miramar. Those photos are on my blog, along with the beautiful version of The Star Spangled Banner he sang for us there.
So, you may see us on American Idol on Tuesday night too! And please vote!

Thanks, Joyce - yes I was on the field. I was also working as a band-mom helper, so that's how I got down on the field originally, but once I was in no one cared where I went! I think I'll print myself a press pass and sneak in everywhere! (kidding - I would be way too nervous!)
