Default can you ink su texture plates?

hi i have a cuttlebug and have inked and versamarked my CB folders for a different look before love it... my questions are Can you ink the SU texture plates to give it a simular result? and is there any real difference in the results any one try it? wondering cause i don't want SU texturz if it only dry embosses and i can't ink because i have quite a few CB Folders already,but love some SU designs. Any help would be great! Thanks for your time and comments!

Sure you can! I use a brayer, but I imagine you can just tap your pad across the top.

k well that's great if you can adhere ink to it before embossing how do you clean it are the texturz (SU) plastic like CB's?? or are they foam?

the ink seems to just come off one the paper if you do it straight after inking.

I love the reverse look of it.

I've done it too....very cool look. I have sprayed stampin mist on it and wiped it clean with a tissue, or run it under a faucet when there was one nearby. Both cleaning techniques worked fine.

The Texturz plates are hard plastic, so they wash up very nicely.

I find that pressing the ink onto the plate gives more color than using the brayer. Also, I like a tone on tone - use the same color ink as cardstock. It really pops! When I tried white cardstock, it was too blotchy.

When you do this, do you use the Texturz plate like a stamp - or do you actually run it and your card stock through the Big Shot? (Can you tell I'm clueless???) Thanks!

I just inked the plate directly by rubbing the stamp pad over it, then ran it through the Big Shot as usual. I used 2 shims to get a deeper embossing. I attached a picture of one of the cards I made this way.

I just tried this and it is awesome! Thanks to whomever thought this up! I already love my Big Shot and the Texturz plates, but now I love them even more! (Is that even possible?) Thanks SCSers for sharing all this great stuff!
