**Viva la Verve, March Week 4 {3/20/09}!!**
Hey ladies, it's the final week of the March VLV challenges! I've already created the sketch champions thread {here}. Post in the champions thread when you've completed all four of the March sketches.
For new-comers, you still have until midnight on the 26th to get all four sketches completed and uploaded in the gallery for a chance to win the April Verve Release! Trust me when I say you'll LOVE this release
Verve stamps are not required to play, but we'd sure love to see you inking those Verve stamps up if you've got em!
Okay, the {twist} for this weeks sketch is "CAS" CLEAN AND SIMPLE! Okay, the sketch isn't really "CAS" but the limited challenge is. I want you to use ONLY one embellishment! It's easier than you think, and if I can do it, then YOU can do it
Things not considered embellishments for this challenge: Glitter, punches
Things considered embelishments and thus limited for the challenge: Brads, buttons, flowers, ribbon!
Have fun with it ladies, remember that challenges are meant to help you spread your wings creatively speaking, so embrace it Bwahaha!
A random winner will be chosen next Friday and posted in this forum. You have until MIDNIGHT of the 26th of March to get your sketch cards in {and this time I'll make sure to announce the winner on YOUR friday, not MINE, lol!
Keywords: Verve (if you're using Verve stamps), and VLVMar04 (please remember to use this keyword exactly, variations of the keyword will not be visible in the gallery and thus will not count for the drawing!)
My Sample
VLVMar04 Gallery
Viva la Verve and good luck!

Here is my card for week 4--another great challenge! I was not sure how to get those 3 circles in with out using more than one brad......Oh well I used a ribbon--hope that is okay!!

CAS, I like that!! Being a bit behind this month, I now have to make 3 cards this week so I can get into the draw - Spring Break and kids home is not conducive to stamping time! Plus, Twilight is being released on DVD so I'm going to have to scramble a bit here but the desire to own more Verve will overcome LOL

OK week 4 is here. I hated my card last week, loved the sketch...this week, I love the sketch too, still don't care for this card...my mojo is not with me this morning...but hey here it is. I am going to change the base card I think.... I used the buttin, everything else is stamps, punches and some glitter.

This sketch was fun! My interpretation of only one embellishment was that you could only use one type, since the sketch sample showed 3 little brads. So I did 3 brads, but no ribbon or anything else to embellish. Here is my card.

Whoo! This one worked me over a little. Simple card? No problem. Circle in the middle? BIG problem! Circles and me just don't get along. lol

Here it is!! I had to replace the big circle with an oval because I couldn't find the circle stencil - I hope that's okay?

This will sound horrible, but I'm glad to know the "pros" have issues with cards. Gives me hope to press on through my "reject pile" cards Sure it isn't as bad as you think it is. Looking forward to seeing your posted creation.

Cards are like scrapbook pages (for us scrappers). Sometimes when you are struggling with a card/layout, you think it is the ugliest thing ever. (Well, not ever - that would be my first few scrapbook pages, LOL!) But, if you leave them for a day and look back, they are never as bad as you think they are.
I think of it this way - practice makes perfect (or at least much, much better). So even the "duds" teach your something/give you more experience.

Alright number 4! This is my first time to participate in anything like this and I've really enjoyed it. I'm very new to the whole stamping scene and would love any advice or tips you may have for me.
Thanks again for letting me play. I hope to grow my stamp collection soon!

OK Amber, here's mine! I should have done an earlier sketch, as clean and simple are something I admire from afar, not something I do very well. I'm still a little queasy with all that white space, or in my case pink!
