Question How do I put a link in my post without it being a URL

Hi Everyone. I'm sorry if this is a reapeat question, but I have been looking for an hour and I can't find an answer to this. I noticed that a lot of you have links to your cards or blogs in your post that just say "My Card" or "My Blog". I only know how to put in a link using the URL (http://www etc.)

Would someone please tell me how to add in a link that doesn't look like a URL. Thanks so much!

You type the word you want to show, like My Blog, My Card, whatever. Highlight that, then click the little icon above the dialog box that looks like an earth with two chain links. Then you can type or paste your URL into the box that pops up.

Looks great! (but I'd probably change the mnfroggie to a green font just to be cute!)

Highlight the words you want colored then go up above the "earth/link" thingy and there's an "A" with a black bar under it and a little arrow next to it. click the arrow and you'll see the different colors.

You'll probably have to type the code yourself.

Copy the URL you want

Type [ u r l = (no spaces) then paste your URL, then type ]

Write the word or words you want to show

Type [ / u r l ] (again, no spaces)

(I had to add the spaces because it was trying to make a URL for me!)

I would like to add my signature to the bottom of my comments when I post and a link to my gallery. I don't know where to start to do that....sorry, I am not good on the computer. Right now when I add a comment I have nothing appearing underneath it.
Any help would be appreciated.

Hi. Go to the top of the screen, where is says "Welcome, your name" and click on that. On the page it takes you to, there will be a list of links on the left. A little ways down there will be an option to "Edit Signature."

You can make the changes and then click "preview" to see if it came out the way you want it. When you are done, be sure to click on "Save Signature." HTH.

Ok....now I need to figure this out. Everytime I highlight the words "My Gallery" I don't get an earth but instead a light bulb thingy.....
Boy...I really feel dumb now when it comes to computers!!

The earth-link thingy is up above the box you're typing in. It looks like this:

OK....(you can't see the frustration on my face!)...I am ready to throw this computer out the back door. No matter what I do I can not get that earthy link thingy to appear!!!!!!!
I have no idea what to do next....I think I tried everything I know, which by the way is not a lot about computers.

About the globe icon, check Replies #24 and #26 in this thread:
http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/fo...php?p=10542719
(Note that we no longer have the Quick Links, so you get to your options by clicking at the top of the page where it says "Welcome" and your user name.)

After following those directions, do you now see a globe link icon?

Karen, you are getting soooo close.

You have some extra characters in your gallery address. It is currently: http://www.http.com//www.splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/showgallery.php?cat=500&ppuser=6575

In your Edit Signature window, click on the a/A icon in the upper right corner. Then erase the red characters that I showed above. It should be:
http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/showgallery.php?cat=500&ppuser=6575

ETA: Oops. Your signature had changed while I was typing. I'll wait to see what your latest version is. You get points for being persistent.
