ATC SWAP: one for the birds!! **flying home!!!**: Flourishes

I am going on a hunch here: I think you gals had fun with the flower ATC swap, why don't we don one for the birds

see below for ideas!

You can get 10 ATC's (2.5" x 3.5") from one sheet of 8.5 x 11" paper. Here is a good explanation how.

To me, the most interesting aspect of ATCs is that they are a little piece of "art" or "expression" of the maker for me to keep. It is different from a card as I will never send this on or disassemble it....

Description: Any Flourishes Stamps!
Theme: BIRDS! now this could be a bird stamp, a bird brad or embellishment, a feather, a nest, eggs, an ATC in a bird shape, bird themed die cuts, bird houses, chicks, seeds as embellishment or flower centers...anything that reminds you of a bird or bird related items.

Quantity: 8+1 (You will not get your own back if we get enough people)
I will add more spots if necessary.

Vendor Products: Flourishes Stamps, any card stock, 2 layer minimum (with at least one layer being good quality card stock), and at least 1 embellishment of any sort. DO sign the back of your ATC please.

Deadlines:
Sign-up date: open
Due in my hands: May 1st ,2009 (this is when they should be nesting, no?)
I will swap them out as soon as I receive them all.

Mailing Instructions:
1) Place ATCs in a plastic baggie for waterproof purposes.
2) Write your real name, SCS name and swap name on a piece of paper and include in the baggie for identification purposes.
3) Write your real name and SCS name on the back of your atc (Be proud of your work). PLEASE sign the backs, in 10 years when I go back to browse my pretties, I'd like to know and remember who they came from!!
4) Include mailing address label with your address information on it. Use a good envelope (padded bubble) for mailing, I will re_use your envelope to mail back!! You can also include a stamped, self addressed brown paper envelope and I'll pack your ATCs back into the used bubble inside the paper envelope for return.
5) Include return postage (the same amount that it took to send the swap to me plus one extra stamp. These must be stamps, can't be metered!! You will get any unused stamps back.)

I know this is a silly question, but I'm still confused about the number of cards I have to send. Is it 8 or 9. Last time I sent 9.

Not a silly question at all. It really depends on the number of players. Usually in a swap there is always one extra for the host. But as I am playing as well and the number of players is under 8, this is not necessary.
In a large swap with many players, the host ends up with one card each and theoretically does not even have to make any

As written in this swap you should send 9. The lower the number of players, the higher the chance that you will get your "unused" one back with the swap.
If there are only 5 players, theoretically you'd only be swapping out 4 and get 4 back from the other players

So sign up already LOL......

I always make at least 10 of the same, usually more than that.

thanks for joining Stacy!! Yes you can use ANY flourishes stamp, bird, birdhouse, tree? add a bird brad?, a feather? flowers.... just ANYthing related to bird. Bird seed? Bird feet over a flower design? LOL

Stacy, this started as an 8+1 swap. So you really don't need to make more than 9

You will get 8 different ones back from other players, but not all.
I'll have to do the math if it works out if you send 11 LOL... to get 11 back! if not everybody does it.

Oh, mine are on their way, posted last Friday and I've only made 9, so hope it's OK. Etha went to your blog to see yours and they are terrific. We must have been on the same wave length, because I've used the same stamp and similar design to yours.

Oh well I am a goof ball. See this is why I always hesitate to do them. I am not worried aobut getting some back. Just give the extras to whoever. Is that okay? I know I will only get the 8 and that is okay. Now everyone will have an extra one.

Well I was making 12 cards anyway, planning on sending what is needed when the time comes, it does not matter to me how many I get back, 8 is great! I have most of them done and will be sending soon.
