I've been assigned with posting a challenge for the second two weeks of February 09 for Blogger Group #7.
One of my most favorite challenge websites is called Cinema Saturday. Basically, they find a movie, post pictures of that movie's posters, and then you take inspiration from the poster and create a card. You can be inspired by the colors, the layout of the poster, perhaps a theme of the designated movie - it's really up to your own interpretation, so the possibilities are endless.
So, since the 2009 Academy Awards will be shown at the end of this month, I thought it would be fun to be inspired by the movie posters from each of the five Best Picture nominees. I've attached thumbnails of each of the movie posters. Since you can only attach 3 photos to a post, I'll have to do this in two posts. Choose one of the posters that you are inspired by, and create away!!
Please create your card by 2/28/09, and upload it both to your blogs and here on SCS. Please use keyword: BG7FEB09IC. Please also link your creations here in this thread so that we can all see them. Happy Stamping, ladies!!
I am so glad I checked in here today. I didn't know there were 2 challenges this month. This is a really interesting challenge. I will start planning! Thanks so much!
Phew! I DID IT!! I DID IT!! lol That WAS a challenge! I really like the way it turned out. I tried to incorporate the colors into it from the poster sample and add my own touches. Thanks again for a great challenge karolyn! Here's my gallery entry: TIME CARD and my blog entry: TIME CARD inspired by the Benjamin Button poster.

Sue - I saw your creation last night and I LOVE IT !!!!!!!! Great job. Karolyn, man, what a challenge - this is going to be interesting. Hope you all have a good day !!-
I co-run the Cinema Saturday Creative Challenge and was psyched when my friend pointed me to your post where you mention our blog! So glad that you like our weekly challenge blog: http://cinemasaturdaycreativechallenge.blogspot.com/ and that you were inspired by it!
Every Friday - we do a sneak peeks through the day of the movie we are going to do the next day and everyone leaves a guess in the comment section - we would love it if you would join in. The next day (saturday) we do the reveal the movie. People have until the following thursday to play along. We award "the Audrey" (our version of "the Oscar") to the card that captures the movie (this was inspired by our love for Audrey Hepburn).
We would love for you all to play along! Please come and join us on Friday morning for the guessing of the sneak peeks and then on Saturday for the movie pick reveal!
Can't wait to see all of your creations!
Best wishes to all,
Sankari

Sue, this is AMAZING! I am loving those clocks and all the hardware and the fabulous circles. You ROCKED this, Missy!
Just so you guys know, I may not have time to create a sample for this challenge (I know, lame!) because I will have a house full of guests for the next two weeks. They don't leave until 3/5!! I will do my best to create in between guests, but no guarantees. I might be a little MIA in the blogs, too. Please, please forgive me . . . I will do my best!!

Sounds like so much fun, Sankari!! Thanks so much for stopping by our little group! I will do my best to participate - maybe not this week, but soon!!
I need to get my buns in motion-I haven't done either challenge yet and they both are so interesting. I don't want to miss out. I was hoping to get to it last night but my oldest DS came home and conveniently told me his Ben Franklin project was due-yep-you guessed it TODAY!!! So I spent 3 hours of my evening "designing" a costume. My Martha Stewart abilities were really challenged last night. So hopefully I will have better luck tonight.
