LSC207 - Stretch Yourself {2/13/09}
LSC207– Stretch Yourself
Limited Supply Challenge: Every Friday, we'll give you a list of things to use. It's up to you to make something from that, and only that!
Please put LSC207 as the keyword when uploading!
You may use any stamps, cardstock and ink, embellishments and tools, and any techniques! So, what is limited?
Today our challenge is to use TWO or more “things” on your card that are a “stretch” for you. Please list them in your description. It doesn’t have to be hard – my sample certainly isn’t at all – but make it different than the “norm” for you!
Ideas to get your ideas going:
• Do you usually stamp with cutesy or whimsical stamps? Try collage!
• Never done a 3D item? Try one of the bags or boxes on the Resources page.
• Do you always use ribbon? Use buttons or twine instead!
• Lots of layers? Go 2-3 layers instead. Or – horrors! – make a one layer card!
• Like to sew on your cards? Try doodling instead!
• Always color with Copics? Get out your chalks!
• Like the Rich Regals family? Use your Bold Brights~
• Is designer paper your weakness? Make your own or leave some white space!
• In the habit of using brads or pearls (my favorite!)? I know you all have eyelets somewhere……
• Different style, technique, embellishments, design, medium, backgrounds….I know there are lots of good ideas out there! Just choose two!
In other words, your LSC card today should not look like many other cards in your gallery! Do something different today! STRETCH yourself!
Keyword: LSC207 (no spaces)
Sample
• StampingQueenJAR
LSC207 Gallery QuickLink
If you are new to the challenges, please feel free to do this one or ANY of the challenges (including past challenges) at any time. There is no time limit. They are not races to see who can do one first, nor are they contests of any sort. All the challenges are simply to provide inspiration and to get us stamping! Join in the fun!
Need help linking a card? Follow these instructions!
1. Open 2 windows. One window for your card and one for this thread.
2. In this thread, click on reply and type anything you want to show before the link.
3. Go to your card window. Highlight the address for your card. (It says www. splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/showphoto..... and so on)
4. Click EDIT. Click COPY
5. Go back to this thread. Click PASTE.
You're done!

EEK! I am so glad you posted before I went to bed! Now I have oodles of time to dream on it. My problem is, I do all sorts of different stuff... maybe it will be time to pull out my ink pads and let my copics have a rest!

Judy, this really was a stretch! I was uncomfortable with the colors and the image and what I didn't use was really the thing.
Here is my bright card! Shield your eyes!

Two things that are a stretch!! Guess the card I made for the sketch was a stretch on being CAS and misting with markers, but I'll try to come up with something. Maybe tomorrow, sigh - not a lot of time today and two stretches is going to be a slow card...
Thanks, Judy, I'll be thinking and planning.

Here is my project - Lucky Leprechaun Cuppie
My two "out of the norm" practices for this calendar piece include having no layers and using copic markers. I find it difficult to make no layer cards and I rarely use my copic markers to color my images in. I also used stickles for the coins in the pot of gold and that is something else I don't utilize very often.

I have this little inner voice when I see a card with no stamping that says, "Hey, that's cheating...." so I thought that's a stretch for me, only use one tiny word stamp.......okay, so it's still pink and i didn't stretch there, and it's still got lots of ribbon so I didnt' stretch there....but the no stamping thing is HUGE for me!! I LOVE when the challenges are up early enough to play with everyone else before I go to work.....(maybe a little LATE but I still get there.....) Happy Friday everyone! Here's my card:

Hmmmm... this is a stretch to even THINK about! I don't know what would be a stampin' stretch for me. Will have to do some thinking... and watching (the gallery that is.)

Fabulous challenge Judy and yep, that's stretching alright. I'll be back to do this one after I get my S-corp and all of that fun legal stuff for the magazine done. In the meantime, I have some thinking to do! Thank you for the challenge.
