Need some guidance! Digital paper?
I don't know if I'm posting this in the right area or not, but I thought that I'd throw this out there and see what happens...
This is what I want to do: I want to find a certain themed patterned paper for making one or two cards and was interested in finding a website that offered the paper first of all, and then printing it out on 8.5x11 or smaller for making the card.
My questions are:
1. Who or what is a good website for such a task?
2. Can you print out just a page or two and not have to buy a digi page kit or package?
3. What kind of paper could I print out the patterned paper on? Cardstock work, too?
4. I'm looking for some 1950 retro kitchen patterned paper...anyone know of a website that offers such paper?
Oh, I did see one website that wanted you to join their club or a paid subscription before you could download...I'm not interested in that in case I only want to do this sort of thing occasionally. KWIM?
Thanks!

There are literally 1000s of places to get free digital scrapbooking stuff on line.
This blog has links to a billion freebies: http://digifree.blogspot.com/
As for printing.....when I use digital papers I just print them onto regular 110 lb cardstock (same stuff I use for my card bases). I don't do it often bc IMO it's pretty expensive to print your own paper when you can buy so much patterned papers.
Let me see if I can hunt you down a free retro kitchen kit....I'll be back.....

OK, I just checked my bookmarks:
This site has some AWESOME free kits: http://www.shabbyprincess.com/downloads.asp
I did a quick search and didn't come up with any vintage kitchen specific kits but at least I did give you links to a bunch of free stuff to check out.

Let me see if I can help.
For all of you who would like to try digital paper, here is a freebie from me.
It's just a basic peach burlap paper.
Download the file to you pictures. (Create a folder called Digital Paper and store in there. This way you can keep it all together.)
Once you have it saved, open it. Microsoft picture manager will display the picture and you can print it. Choose options on your printer to see if you can print borderless pictures. If so, this will print out 8 1/2 X 11. If not, it will have a white border. (I just through this together really fast so it's not my best work or my highest quality! LOL!)
My favorite paper is HP premium matte presentation paper or GKD Pure Luxury 80lb if you want cardstock weight. Both are SUPER smooth so you will get very true color and sharp images.
Do NOT put anything heavier in your printer. You don't want to jam it or hurt the print head.
I hope you have lots of fun discovering the world of digital paper!

Thank you all for the help and for the links...I hope if that you run into a 1950s retro kitchen paper site, that you'll please post back on here...I had no clue that this would be that difficult.
I was looking for regular scrapbooking paper but couldn't find any of that, either! That's why I decided to ask about the digital paper...but I've gotta tell ya...that whole world of digi printing is overwhelming and I'm not sure that I want to sit for hours on my laptop reading how and why and wherefores, KWIM?
Thanks for the help...

Yucky! That's not right. It should print at like 6 zillion dpi. But I bet it's cause SCS won't accept huge files. Well, I would be happy to email the file to anyone who wants it. Is there a download sharing place on SCS?

Could you email me the download for the free digital paper. Not sure I'll be interested in digital cardmaking, but this might get my feet wet. I really like the hands on of regular stamps. Thanks ahead of time. My email is allensam833@yahoo.com Be sure to put Digital free download in the subject so I will open the email.

Retro patterns
Google retro kitchen pattern fabric. I found this pattern on a site. Use this link and look at others.
http://www.theozmaterialgirls.com/fu...-art-p-32.html
Depending on the kind of program you use you could capture the image and use it to fill your paper with that pattern. Then print it off on card stock. Sometimes just to get a pattern I like I will print it off on just regular ink jet paper, spray with some spray adhesive and sprinkle on clear embossing powder and emboss. I use it for layers or piecing or die cuts. HTH.

Although this is not Digital Paper, here is a line at Oriental Trading Company called Home Cookin'
http://www.orientaltrading.com/ui/se...allpartial&N=0
They have paper, stickers, brads etc..
I have bought some of there "no-name" brand paper and it was not the high quality I am used to. Although it was in bulk and not double sided. I was using it for folding too.
I have also purchased other scrapbook/card items from them and have been totally happy. I hope this helps!

One of my favorite sites for digital papers is: http://cp.c-ij.com/en/ It's by Cannon (the printer company). They have all types of tags, borders, and complete page "kits," too.

Not sure this will link right, but I did a search at DST on retro kitchen. Most digital scrapbook stores don't sell individual papers, but the kits are not expensive to buy. If you can tell me what you're looking for color and design wise, I could probably make you something up (I used to design digital kits a few years ago)

I didn't find a digital website, but did find the new Jenni Bowlin designs, that might meet your needs.

Hi, I do almost all of my scrapping by hybrid- which means I combine regular product with digital layouts, or regular layouts with digital embellishments. I have about 200 layout kits in my collection, and all but about 5 of them were totally free. Right now I'm working on a Basic Grey Keyplate Album, with a kit that I got free. All I need to do is put in my pictures and print, cut it out and attach it to the Basic Grey chipboard. I'd be happy to help you figure it out. In the mean time, you can find some pricey, but outstanding vintage designs at The Vintage Workshop. I can't give you the URL because I don't post here enough, but you can just do a google for The Vintage Workshop. Enjoy.

There is a designer at Go Digitals Scrapbooking that has a retro kit called Mom's Diner that might be what you are looking for.
