This crease pad is to be used on Sizzix dies that have score lines on them (i.e. Pillow Box).

I have a Big Shot...so this is the sandwich I use (bottom from top):

- cutting pad
- two plastic shims (come with the crease pad)
- die (facing up)
- cardstock
- crease pad

It makes a big difference using the crease pad!!!

Hope this helps!!

There are some dies that require the use of the crease pad - the ones that have both cut lines and score lines.

The Premium Crease Pad lets the die cut thru the cutting lines without cutting thru the score lines. If you use the regular cutting pad, sometimes the score lines get cut.

Visit my blog at http://karenhaden.com and click on Tutorials in the right sidebar and you can see how to use the crease pad. When I received mine I did contact SU and suggested that there needs to be instructions included with it.

I learn stuff everyday, usually when right when I need to - like 6 am this morning when I'm preparing for an open house that starts in 3 hours and I need to know how to use the crease pad! Thank you so much!

I thought the crease pad was supposed to go on the cutting side of the die.

Wait a minute. Does "bottom from top" mean that the items at the top of your list are on the bottom of your sandwich?

You can also use the crease pad with nestabilities in order to cut and emboss at the same time, instead of a 2-step process. I don't think it makes quite as crisp a cut as doing it with the cutting pad, then embossing, but many of my dies work fine this way and it's quite a timesaver!

I use (from bottom up):

Multi Purpose Platform on Tab 2 (or regular platform with shims)
cutting plate
die, cutting side up
cardstock
crease pad

Occasionally I have to run it through, then run it back through without moving anything, to get it to cut through, but that's okay with me. I generally use Prism or ColorMates cardstock or GP white or Beckett Expression.

Thanks for all of this . I was confused by the crease pad also. The only dies I have are the star and stampin up basket die.

When I cut the scallop envelope die without the crease pad, it cut the side tabs off instead of scoring, when I used the crease pad it came out perfect.

I am glad I read this. I was placing my Spellbinders die on top of the platform (tab 2) with the cutting side up and it is pressing so hard on the tab that it is making indentation into it. It will really help if I use the cutting plate on top of the platform and follow your sandwich. I was taking out my CB to use my Spellbinders dies - now I don't have to. Thanks!
