Hey Jo,

I survived the London trip. Thanks for you theatre tips, I was on the third row for Les Mis, it was fantastic. Also got to see Wicked, and Blood Brothers. Next June, Ireland.

Hey Everybody,

I always heard trouble comes in three, and I believe it now. Beginning from dropping my cell phone in melted butter, clogging up hoses on washing machine, and totally getting my computer so messed up it would not turn on. Thank goodness I had some vacation days to deal with all these problems. I found a small sterilite box at WalMart, cell phone goes in the box while cooking, no exceptions. I can hear it ring, and other alert notices. No more foam backed rugs in the washer, period. And I am going to get some computer instructions from a French guy in tight jeans.

I am a problem solver, for sure.

Now got to get ready for Halloween.

Ah...yes, the old rule of three's! Reminds me of my hubby's cousins. One year it seems everything broke around their house, got so bad that when he would call her from work, instead of "Hi, honey how are you?" it was "Hi, honey, what broke today?" Sorry to hear of your miss fortune, Patrice. Things can only go up from here!

Oh my! My computer's hard drive just got fried this weekend also. All of my Stampin' Up customers information was in there!!! Not to mention many other important info. On the upside...I learned my lesson about having photos stored someplace else (like a flash drive) after we lost all of the digital pictures 3 years ago when my son was a baby!!!! We have a few that I took on film, but it was right about the time we were switching to digital so from about 3 months until 2 years is gone!!! :-(

I accidently deleted everything on the memory stick of my camera (about 1300 pictures!) a few years ago. Now I just buy a new card for my camera instead of deleting pictures. I still want to cry when I think of it.

My son had a 2 hour session with a professional photographer for his senior portraits. As he was changing into his last outfit, the one I wanted him to wear, she realized she did not have a memory card in the camera. He had to start all over from the beginning. So, even professionals have off days.

Thanks for sharing that, Mary. What a great idea! I don't have a smart phone, but my daughter does. I notice you need a separate case to put the insert into. If the intended recipient didn't already have a case, it would make the gift a little more substantial to have a new case be part of the deal. I did note that there are different versions of the phone and different size cases, so keep that in mind, too.

Online storage can get very expensive for photos and such, but if you are just storing documents, you might check out Dropbox.com. You can get 2GB of free storage, and it's super easy to use. 2GB doesn't go far for photos, but you'd be surprised how many word documents you can fit into that space.

Hope it's okay to share ideas that aren't paper and stamping...

I was stuck on what to make for the guys in my family, cause they don't much like all that cute paper stuff.

I found a simple tutorial for neckwarmers. And, you can get 2 from 1/4 yard of flannel! Some folks fill them with rice, but I got feed corn, which is cheaper than rice, and holds the heat better when you microwave the warmers.

If you know how to sew a simple seam, you can make one in about 30 minutes or less.

Here is a link to the tutorial:

Hot/Cold Neck Wrap for Dad {tutorial} via TipJunkie.com

I also composed a little verse to go with the warmers:

"Handmade gifts can be corny,
And this one's especially so.
It's a neckwarmer filled with corn,
All stuffed and ready to go.

Just microwave it a little,
90 seconds on high.

Then drape on your neck and relax,
And kiss your stress goodbye!"

Your poem is the perfecct finishing touch!! Don't have access to feed corn so will have to use rice - and since you're the poet - do you have one for rice too?

Here is a verse for rice, but I didn't write it. I found it on someone's blog. It's a cute poem, but some of the words sounded too young for my age 20-something grandsons, lol. They are past the stage of "boo-boos and little toes."

The Rice Bag

This little pillow filled with rice,
Is such a comforting device.
Microwave for 2 minutes on high
And kiss those aches and pains goodbye.
Apply it to the troubled spot,
The heat will ease the pain a lot.
Or warm those little toes so cold,
Youll find this nice to have and hold.
Or freeze it for a little while,
And fix that booboo up in style.
Instead of a compress made of ice,
Use this pillow filled with rice.

Both of these are cute ideas!!!! Just a side note, I have found when I have an ear ache, that a clean sock filled with rice and warmed in the Microwave does wonders for the pain. So your rice ones would be perfect for this! If using for kids, just be ware of the temperature!
Also since it is not electric, it is much safer to use while in bed! No worrying about getting burned!!

I got a rice bag as a gift from a co worker last year, and I love it. And it came in really handy when I had a annoying chest cold. I found a hot shower, some narcotic cough syrup, and my warm rice bag would help me get some much needed sleep.

Bugga, any and all ideas are welcome here. I spent yesterday afternoon pulling out boxes from past shopping trips, finding marked down purchases. I want to use what I have, get some of this inventory out of my house.

Hey Everyone,

Keeping this thread bumped up, hope yoy holiday preparations are going smoothly. I got notified by my town's local newspaper I have won a gift basket for submitting Thanksgiving recipes. So excited, I never win anything,
I pick it up tomorrow.

If I get some spare moments this weekend, I am going to download some pictures. I got projects going.

Hi Patrice! How are you doing? Looking forward to seeing your creations! I haven't uploaded anything to my gallery in ages! Hope to maybe get some of that done this weekend. No Christmas cards yet though.

Congratulations on winning Patrice!! What a great feeling for sure!!

Christmas plans are wiggling right now - DMIL is in the hospital - on another island - DH is living over there more than home - he is a true angel. I'm keeping the spirit alive through working on my swaps here and humming along as I go.

I wish I was back on Maui now, I loved it when we visited a few yrs ago. The only bad part is getting there, 10 hr plane ride. My husband is tall, so he gets the aisle seat, and I get smashed up by the window. No fun at all.

I'm glad you enjoyed it here Patrice - but your plane ride sounds yucky - how about next time you both take aisle seats across from each other?
