December is flying by! Can't believe Christmas is right around the corner. Kiddos get out of school on Thursday, Hubby jumps in frozen lake Saturday then Monday I'll be wrapping presents at the PX for hubby unit. So if you need things wrapped come on by I'll be there from 9am to 1pm working my fingers to the bone.lol

OMG! They Unit has the booth all day, but DH just signed me up for the four hours...then he has to take me out to lunch.lol Apparently there aren't alot of spouses helping out mainly soliders having to do it, so they were very happy that I was willing to be there that long.lol DH brought home tape, tags and paper today so I can take it up there Monday...weird, right...thought they were having soliders there so why are they sending the crap for me to take.lol Bad feeling is coming over me.lol
Son is having party tomorrow, just brought home sign up list today...so of course now I need to run to grocery store in am to get something for party since I have nothing in the house...on strike again. Well better run for now...so miss you Cherie, we need a Chinese reunion.;)
I decided next year I am going to take a week of leave mid-December just to get everything done. I've got one day off between now and Christmas and a mountain of presents to wrap. :( With that said, I probably won't be able to get together any time before Christmas and I'm headed back CONUS on the 29th. Anyone up for lunch on the 28th?

How are you Anchorage ladies faring with the weather? Normally in my neck of the woods we are spared the winds, they usually hit Wasilla and Palmer, and Willow just north of us but this weekend, wow! We were without power today for 16 hrs and the wind is still whipping. Its 36* at my place right now, at almost 1am, and as much as I love the cold I am hoping for hubby's sake the roads dont freeze. He's had enough of the nasty commute to Eagle River this month!

This has been the day of bad news. My DH's grandma passed away 2:30 this morning. Then my mom calls to let me know my dad was in the hospital but he is out now and that my brother is in the ICU scheduled for brain surgery tomorrow. There is a 50% chance he will have a stroke during the surgery, so to say the least my sister in law is totally freaking out and my brother is asking for my dad who really shouldn't be traveling since he is still weak but of course he is leaving tomorrow to be there for my brother. Christmas has been getting harder and harder to celebrate, but I have to say this year has been by far the hardest.
Hope you all are doing well, can't take hearing anyone else suffering this week. Christmas ladies, stay safe.

Tracy, I am sorry to hear about all of this. Tell your DH we are sorry for his loss. I hope your brother's surgery went well. News like all of this is never good - and even worse during the holidays :-(

Rescue was a couple of doors down from us today. Hope all turns out okay for them.

I've been out of the "SCS Loop" for a bit. Digging myself out of the Christmas season with all it's ups and downs. In reading this I hope all is well for your family and hope everyone is recovering.

I would love to, but I'm enjoying 50 degree weather in Virginia! I'm TDY learning how to catch babies. I don't know what my February schedule looks like yet.

Ladies, Tracy and I talked tonight. We'd like to get together on Friday, February 10th, from 6 til whenever, to craft (scrapbook, stamp, knit, whatever your passion is for the day). Just looking for some girl time! We didn't talk about the where, although I'm hoping Tracy's house is ok. Let's all bring a snack dish so we can munch. Who's in?

LOL! I just assumed it was going to be my house. I was coming on here to do the same thing since you lit my fire last night. Actually got off my rear and fixed a couple pairs of jeans for DD's friends niece and this morning I haven't gone back to sleep.lol Did dishes and a 10 minute tidy in the kitchen, now think I will cut out some appliques before paying bills. So glad you have some weekends off next month!:p

How fun...I need to come up with a dress for a ball in March or May I can't remember.lol Think I will try and alter the one I have from El Paso, so it actually fits better. Keep your fingers crossed it works other wise I will have to start looking and I hate trying to find formal gowns.
