Default Glitter help

What is the best way to stick gliiter to card stock and images?

I used tombow Multi liquid glue- it didn't turn out very well. You could see the spots where there was more glitter than in other places.

I use my Sakura Glue Pen for just about all of my "glitter" work (use it daily!). If the area is a little larger I just use it and if I missed a spot I go back and fill it in with another dot of glue and sprinkle on a little more glitter! It could also be your glitter...I only use Ultrafine Glitters because you get a very smooth finish. I have it in several colors...me loves the "sparkles"!

Default Quickie Glue Pen, Versamark with Heat and Stick

Two things I love to put glitter on with is a Quickie Glue Pen and Versamark with Heat and Stick embossing powder by SU! I just made a couple of cards using these techniques and both came out really cool. I'll attach a couple pictures for you and more details about the cards are on my blog -

Lovely cards!! I've been thinking about trying that heat and stick stuff from SU, but I didn't know you used it with versamark...

I like how your glitter is very neat, not outside the lines and such.

Thank you for the compliment!

I was showing my mom the glitter tree card last night and we were both saying gosh why haven't we tried the heat and stick method before?? I think I've owned it forever and finally gave it a try the other day. It really does come out phenomenal. After I added the glitter I did heat it just a little bit more too and it really secures it nicely.

On the sparkly gnome card it was harder to capture the actual look of the glitter, but you can kind of get the idea. The Quickie Glue Pen is teeny tiny so it makes it easy for small spaces. I used to use the 2 way glue pen by SU! but I like the Quickie Glue Pen even better.

I use a glue pen from Creative Memories for fine detail work- I also run a piece of paper through my Xyron and peel off the backing and sprinkle glitter onto the sticky surface - that works a treat for a large area or you can then punch shapes out of it - I use that alot. I also use SU's Heat and Stick powder for glittering stamped images - I bought the Tsuenko glue pad but just didnt get great results with it...

I like that idea! My mom was telling me also that sometimes she does a border using red sticky strip and I thought that was a cool idea too

You can also use craft ink with heat & stick powder for when you want color under the glitter.

I always use the quickie glue pen and love it. I have the heat and stick but haven't tried that yet.

Friend and I have been trying techniques to glitter. We tried palette brand glue pad without much success, the glitter fell right off. Found online that it can only really be used on glossy cs and must be heat set. We saw another brand online but could not find in any stores. We considered the heat and stick but did not have any on hand. I was also told it was a hurry up get it on quick thing with the heat and stick and glitter. Finally before halloween we found Martha Stewart glue pad for glitter and it works wonderfully!! The stamp pad comes with a vial of glue, moisten the pad and stamp as you would with any pad. Sprinkle on the glitter and let dry, it only takes a few seconds and no heat setting required. We also liked her glitters. Reasonably priced considering how large the bottles are and it's a very fine nice glitter in a nice range of colors. We found them at walmart, a c moore, and michaels.

I too highly suggest the SU Heat & Stick. It is a fantastic product and works very well. Easy too!

I have also had success using my Xyron, however it is not as consistant as the heat & stick for looks.

I use the SU crystal effect. It works well and dries a lot quicker than stickles.

I am holding a glitter class next Friday (thought it would be fun for the holidays) so thanks for all the great ideas. I am a new demo and bought the heat and stick powder to show off. Hope it sells!

That's a great technique for a workshop cuz it's one of those things you probably wouldn't buy if you haven't seen it demonstrated.

If your doing a large area or background use super 77 spray. Its really sticky and strong. I did some letters on glitter paper for Halloween and it worked Great.

I use a 2-way-glue pen. They come in severasl different nib sizes, so you can do super-fine lines or large areas.

My heat and stick powder doesn't work at all. My demonstrator said that it can go bad after awhile.

I usually use Tombow Mono Multi. A young lady showed me that glitter - especially the chunky glitter - looks best when it is on cardstock that is the same color it is. That way if there is any gap at all you don't notice because it is the same color showing through.
