Prayers for Laurie (Lauraly)
Laurie (Lauraly) received some very tough news today. They found out her daughter has a brain tumor, and they're heading to Seattle to have it biopsied. She has some swelling in her brain, and they're concerned about that. They don't know how long they'll be there, but please pray that the tumor is operable and cancer free. Thank you!!

Update:
Thank you everyone for your thoughts and prayers for Laurie! Tosh just contacted me to explain that they had some rain in California yesterday which knocked out her internet. It happens quite often especially when the first rains hit and she does not even know when her internet will be back up and running. She won't be able to monitor this thread until that is worked out.
She wanted me to pop in here from time to time and answer any questions if any. Tosh will keep me informed as she is informed from Laurie and I will update all of you until Tosh is back. Thanks again!

I saw this mentioned on Beate's blog too and came over here, hoping to find out a bit more. Laurie is one of my all-time favorite stampers and I love her contagious enthusiasm for life and for stamping. I am praying for their family, that their faith and the prayers of others will hold them up, and that any fear will be replaced by a peace that comes from God.

I talked with Tosh about an hour ago. Her Internet is still down, and she hasn't heard anything from Laurie yet. Tosh has promised to call me the moment she hears something. So if she can't send an update, I will let everyone know.
I am praying for Laurie and her family and sending huge {{{HUGS}}} because sadly, that's all I can to do.

Such frightful news about Laurie's beautiful daugher Alison. If my fervent prayers could heal, Alison would be well by now. My little family and I will continue to pray for Ali and of course the entire Schmidlin family. They have always held and will continue to hold a very special and loving place in my heart. Today will be spent making cards for both Ali and Laurie. Thanks to Michelle, Tosh, Beate, and all the others I may have missed (sorry) for spreading the word and keeping us updated. Such anguish!

I just this moment got an email from Laurie's Mom. She said that the tumor specialist is expected to make rounds sometime this morning, and they have more specialized tests scheduled for Monday. They are treating her now for the swelling in her brain.
Laurie's Mom, brother and his wife are leaving from Portland to go there later today. It's about a three hour trip.
Keep praying....

Tosh called me as I was typing the last post about the email from Laurie's Mom. Since she still doesn't have Internet, she asked me to update everyone. She just got off the phone with Laurie...and said she sounds GREAT! Her spirits are good, and she said she has a lot of confidence in the doctors there.
They have not yet done the biopsy. They have determined that what they saw on the MRI is blood. It could be one of two things...either an abnormal cluster of blood cells, or a tumor. More tests will be done Monday, and she will be sure to let us know as soon as they have results.
Laurie told Tosh to be sure to let everyone know how very much she appreciates their concern. She said that she can feel all the special prayers for them.  |

Michelle (and Tosh) thank you for the updates. I, and I'm sure all the others< have been on pins and needles since learning of Ali's ordeal. I haven't stopped praying for Laurie, Ali, and the entire Schmidlin family. It's all I can do to breathe with this heavy load on my heart as I fight the tears. Many blessings to all.

I saw something on Beate's blog and then Dawn's blog led me to this thread - I had no idea what was wrong with Laurie's daughter......I'm just shocked! Our family has already started praying for her and I've made a card...it just might take a while to get there from Australia. I hope and pray that the tests on Monday show that it's not as bad as they fear and that the Schmidlin family's faith help's them deal with this.
