After ordering the September release of ALL the Verve sets, I thought it would be fun to host a SWAP!
Using the
Verve Sketches or
Mojo Monday Sketches is optional, but encouraged. If you do, please include what sketch you used on your creation! I’m going to keep the groups small to encourage some “Verve-Diva-worthy” work. You may join more than one group, but you must do a different card for each group.
The Deets: (sorry it’s so long, but I cover my fat butt well and some of this really does NEED to be spelled out…..)
All stamped images MUST be Verve. The only exception is words / sentiments. Those may be any vendor, and should NOT be the focal image of your card (unless they ARE Verve!).
Card fronts only required. “Mountable” card fronts encouraged (5 ¼” x 4” finished size).
SCS name and Verve set(s) used required on the back. Any additional info appreciated, but optional.
Papers and embellishments may be from any vendor.
MINIMUM of 3 layers PLUS one embellishment. Patterned paper counts as a layer, but not as an embellishment.
All groups will be 8 people. You will make 7 cards. You will NOT get one of your own back unless someone drops.
MAILING INSTRUCTIONS – PLEASE READ CAREFULLY!
Swaps will be due TO ME in California by October 18th. That means if you are using first class mail, you should mail by October 13th. Priority will buy you another couple days till the 15th. If you are mailing from Canada/outside the US, please research when you would need to post your package to have it arrive to me in time. For out of country swappers, I will accept cash or PayPal to take care of the postage going back to you. You can go to
www.usps.com and use the postage calculator there - my ZIP code is 95834-0534. You can calculate postage as if I were mailing the package to you if you are outside the US.
I will start swapping out complete groups and mailing the swaps back on the 20th. ALL GROUPS WILL BE SENT OUT by THURSDAY, OCTOBER 23rd whether complete or not. Any cards received after the 22nd will be returned to you unswapped. I will be going out of town on vacation on the 25th, so there will be no extra waiting. Sorry, I know that life happens, but know going into this that if you can’t get your cards into the mail by the 15th, you may get them back. Just want to be up front on this.
Please put your swaps in a Ziploc bag with your name, group number AND SCS name on the bag and place it inside a self addressed (unsealed) envelope inside the envelope you mail to me. If you are in more than one group, please put each group in its own bag. Inside the bag with your swaps please include U.S. POSTAGE STAMPS to return your swaps to you. Please include the same number of stamps it took to send to me PLUS either one additional 42¢/”Forever” stamp or TWO 17¢ stamps to cover any additional weight. You can go to
www.usps.com and use the postage calculator there. Any unused postage WILL be returned to you with your swaps. If you cannot get STAMPS, do NOT send metered strips, send me cash if you must, but do NOT send a metered strip. If I get swaps with metered strips, I will contact you to either PayPal me postage (see note in the next section about PayPal fees) or I will ask if you want me to use the metered strip and drop your swaps in the big blue box on the corner, but be aware that it may not make it back to you. If you choose Priority Mail for your return swaps, I will provide the packaging. I have envelopes and boxes here, just send the priority stamp ($4.80) and a self-addressed label.
If I receive swaps without postage or with metered strips and you do not respond to my PMs within 30 days with postage or PayPal, be aware that I will stop bugging you weekly for postage after a month and I may keep/use/donate your cards after 60 days from the mail date. Be aware that if you have to PayPal me postage, I will include the PayPal fees (2.9% plus 30¢) in the total you need to send.
You will be sending your creations to:
Lisa Dallas
PO BOX 340534
Sacramento, CA 95834-0534
***PLEASE LABEL YOUR OUTER ENVELOPE “DO NOT FOLD”*** otherwise they WILL fold them into my 3x5 mailbox…. You’d be unpleasantly amazed what the postal workers can fit in my little mailbox…..
I will be abiding by the SCS Swap Hostess guidelines. If you are unfamiliar with SCS swap etiquette, you may find Hostess and Swapper guidelines in the
So You Wanna Swap forum.
Please reply to this thread to join. I am not going to ask what set you are using.
If you have any questions you can either post them here or PM me. I have this thread set up for e-mail notification of all posts so I will reply just as soon as I get back on SCS (and I’m usually on every day)!
